Alan Pardew has given his press conference for the upcoming game against Sunderland early Saturday afternoon, and it was obvious he would be asked about 23 year-old Clement Grenier – and Alan still thinks Newcastle are in with a chance of getting the lad to Tyneside before Friday night.
Alan Pardew – still hopeful on Grenier
It’s fair to say that if Joe Kinnear and Mike Ashley are not able to get a replacement in – they will have again let the manager down, who does the very best with the players he has available – of course that’s also a good definition of the job he has at Newcastle.
This is what Alan said when asked about the possible transfer of Grenier to Newcastle:
“Not in terms of if the deal is finalised or is finished, so it’s ongoing as far as I’m aware.” “It’s two days left, we’ll have to wait and see. I’m obviously hopeful and that’s really where I sit today.”
“I think he has tremendous creative, technical ability.” “I think he is a player Newcastle fans would love to see at the football club but he’s still not our player so, until he is … I’ll wax lyrical about him then.”
“There’s no option, really, other than to do that (be patient), but we will have to see how we go in the next two days,”
Everything we’ve heard and seen about Grenier tells us he would be a terrific signing for Newcastle as a direct replacement for Cabaye.
So let’s hope we can get him on board before 11:00 pm tomorrow night – that’s a good 31 hours away – lots of time for Joe to get his first permanent signing for Newcastle. 😀
What do you think?

Comment #121I have an idea to get even with Jabba The C@*t, when he finally secretes himself into another venture and leaves our club(i think we’ll have to burn the office furniture, and probably the office, the new chairman can not wait 200yrs before his vileness dissipates to a safe level),we should all chip in and erect a statue of him outside the ground, this statue will have a padded face and genital area so any fans who see fit can kick him in the sack and such.

Comment #123A derby win is at least what we deserve we’ve lost the last two, last seasons defeat was a disgrace and the dross we watched against cardiff in the cup was a theft of our hard earned cash. Theres no reason we can’t go all out and get at them as we have nothing to lose or play for. The players need the fire in their belly and understand what it means to us. Hopefully clattermole and phil ‘loads of money’ bardsley might have been sold.
