Pardew Refuses To Talk About Cabaye – But Why Should He?

You can criticize Alan Pardew all you like about his coaching, and for being completely out-coached by Gus Poyet today, for the fourth successive time, but let’s not go after Pardew for Yohan Cabaye’s departure – that was all the doing of owner Mike Ashley and his Director of Football Joe Kinnear – and Mike pulls all the strings on transfers into and out of the club.

mike ashley joe kinnear

Ashley and Kinnear – Ashley makes all transfer decisions

So after the game today why should the Newcastle manager answer questions on Yohan Cabaye, when the last thing Pardew wanted was to lose his very best player.

It’s done now, and there’s no going back – and Newcastle have to move on – and really the only person who should be answering questions about this is the owner – maybe through his cohort and conduit – Joe Kinnear.

This is what Alan Pardew said after the game:

“Listen, when you lose a player of Cabaye’s class, you want a replacement. But he didn’t arrive and I have to accept what was in my kitty today and going forward.”

“I have to try to get the best out of the group I have got. Loic Remy was a big loss today because we created chances, but there was a lack of conviction in our finishing today which he certainly doesn’t lack, and he was a big loss today.”

“For me standing on the sideline today with a team where we were, it would have been nice to have had a player to give us a boost for the second half of the season, but he didn’t arrive.

“What else can I say? You can keep asking the question and re-phrasing it, and I have answered it.

Newcastle fans are rightly furious with the events in the transfer market of last week, and even more upset now with the pathetic performance of the side today agisnt Sunderland – maybe the worst ever humiliation against Sunderland.

It was Mike Ashley who decided to sell Cabaye for a decent price, and then wouldn’t pay out the money to get Clement Grenier from Lyon through the door.

And it seems Newcastle could have difficulty getting him in during the summer, because we think he was more than miffed at Newcastle’s low offer for him.

Mike Ashley is really the only person responsible for selling Yohan Cabaye, and the person who wouldn’t pay the going rate to get in Clement Grenier, who would have been an excellent replacement for Yohan.

Let’s not blame Pardew for the Cabaye deal and not wanting to even talk about it – because he had absolutely nothing to do with it.

We need to hear from Mike Ashley – but we all know there’s a fat chance of that happening.

    Good for you Morocco.

Ashley had access to the same statistics that show our Win rate without Cabaye. But he is happy let the fans pay up to see Crap and channel funds out of the club with Carr’s expertise and our work.

You have the power of VETO Use it !!!

Ed, we should go after Pardew as well as he’s simply accepting whats happening and has never once voiced his frustration or anger at what Ashley is doing.

He’d have the respect of the fans if he actually said something for once

No top player in their sane mind would join our club.

Forget about Grenier Cabella. They are all not coming.

Agreed mate, does himself no favours.
Einstein Definition of insanity – keep repeating same thing and expect different outcome.
I don’t feel sorry for him because he must be fully complicit in all the shenannigins otherwise he would not be there.
I would feel sorry for him if he was actually a decent manager, but alas, he is gash!
Can’t listen to his patter anymore either as it appears he’s thinking of an educated answer to a question posed and then spouts utter pish!
Make a good politician with his blameless, self preservation mentality tho!

LOL @ Ed… the blog must be getting quite bad when Ed is coming (partially) out in defence of Pardew.

I do not blame the hierarchy for the Cabaye deal, I do take exception to no replacements being signed.

I would not mind if we got players agreed to come in the summer, but to have nothing in the pipeline is bad for the club… we all know this isn’t Pardew’s fault.

We should be able to beat Sunderland at home without Cabaye… I think it was Remy that we missed more.

One inexcusable thing from today was Ameobi playing the full 90 minutes… he offered nothing, and has a track record of offering nothing. How come the whole of the North East could see that Ameobi needed to come off the pitch, but the manager of the club couldn’t?

It begs a lot of questions.

He’s done the exact same thing his entire career and has always been called on it except here under Ashley.

I don’t know what is going on with him, but 99.9% of managers would have walked a long time ago for being made to look like a mug but Pardew just laps it up and even has the gall to offer excuses for the pathetic way we are being run

Cabaye is a huge loss no doubt about it. And not replacing him is typical of Ashley. But there are other obvious problems. Why was Santon taking set pieces and corners again. He was absolutely dross at it against Norwich. And why has Willo still been the target man often? It’s complete madness. He absolutely hopeless for that job and always has been. He has become a steady defender most of the time but that’s all. I just don’t think Pardew is capable of lifting us at all. But with Ashley the toad sitting at the top nothing will change. No kit for me until he’s gone. No money in Ashley’s pocket. He must go.

His record in the derbies is woeful like.

When you look at their side and then look at ours it’s a joke.

That’s the fourth time he’s been tactically raped by Poyet now.

Every man and their dog knows Poyets teams like to play out from the back. Yet every time Pardew comes up against him, he lets them play out from the back ?

Nope I don’t know why either.

Pardrew constantly gets out coached, we looked clueless today/

Following people need to leave the club:
    Ashley
    Kinnear
    Pardrew
    Stone
    Ameobi
    Ameobi
    Cisse
De Jong (he will be sh1t)
    Saylor
    Coloccini
    Anita
    Marveaux
    Obertan

We should have been looking to bring in Ince, Bridcutt, Hughes at Derby and get back to our English routes.

Pardew’s whining that we didn’t get a player in to give us a boost. What about the lanky kid who they’ve been chasing for years – since when he was good? Is he not a boost? Did Pardew sanction that purchase? Why do we want a kid on a half season loan when he’s got less confidence than Cisse, and he’s not fit enough to start a game? He looked like a scared rabbit and if he ever finds form, the season will be almost over.

It sickens me to see the club flounder like this and we are humiliated after the windows. One decent window when Ashley was panicking about relegation. It’s all about the TV money for him, not the club. I hate to say it but this man is a complete weasel.

The eleven on the pitch also let pards and us down. The thing this club had throughout until now was a sense of pride win draw or lose.

Ashleys nearly killed it. Lets see how long before T4c reappears and the like. By fair means or foul Ashley should go but can’t see it happening or is his plan now to cash in, survive(just) and sell up.

sorry mate but what other problems?

Arsenal sold RVP and bought players
Spuds sold Bale and bought half of Europe.
Manure know they have a cm problem buy Mata.

This was a massive blow but the real reason was departure and the non replacement of Cabaye and no real intention to do so.

We needed a winger, a ST or TWO , and a CM replacement all of which haven’t been fulfilled realy as DJ is a loan

    horrific

First time in a derby game that I thought we would lose at hope before the start – cos – soon as the opposition scored we would be beat -only two players on the pitch had scored all season
but the way we lost was shit the worst ever
Man of the match = no one – sorry the lads on the bench who did not get on – cos they did not do nowt wrong
    absolute shambles

wouldn’t say Poyet out tactic Pardew us – cos we were to bad to be out tacticked if such a word.-
GUTLESS CLUELESS and the rest. Cannot play two nancy boys in HBA and Sammi against the scum cannot tackle do not close down and Shola bloody waste of space. so thats us down to.
We could not even pass to each other went back to HOOFball.

Good job we have 37 points as if we play like that week in week out cannot see where the next point is coming from.
Sacking Pardew is not the answer cos Joke Fuckineear will be tha next manager

Positive note is the team will look a lot better when Remy and goufran are back .. Goufrans defensive traits were missed.. Never mind Remy’s attacking instincts .. Still think we should try either marveax or arfa as cabayes role .. Also we need to press higher as a team and use yanga .. Not only is he better than Taylor but when you press higher you need a cb with pace to catch the runners or balls over defence .. Pardew there’s simple tactics for you

For all you fans who watch on your pc or down the pub, I have to tell you that I sit 25 yards or so behind Pardew and watch his performance throughout. You could see from the first minutes that we were not up for it, and tactical changes needed to be made, but Pardew stands like a dummy. He should have been apoplectic with rage, as I was, but he stands mute like Windy f*^%ing Miller. He takes his hands out of his pockets occasionally only to scribble a note in his little book? FFS, what can you be writing in your book that you don’t need to bark at the players? “Order two bags corn from Farmer Bell”?
