Bad News On The Injury Front For Newcastle

3:10 pm, Thursday, February 6th, 2014 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 17 Comments

Alan Pardew had some (more?) bad news to deliver at his press conference today for the Chelsea game, as it seems the best Fab Coloccini can do will be to make the Aston Villa game, which is three weeks on Sunday at St. James’ Park.

Fab Coloccini – could return against Aston Villa

That means Colo will have been out over seven weeks with the knee injury he picked up at West Brom, and had to leave the field just minutes after Mathieu Debuchy had been sent off.

And the news that Yoan Gouffran could make the game on Saturday is presumably not accurate, but he’s not far away and could return against Tottenham at home next Wednesday night.

And striker Papiss Cisse is still not fit, and this is what Alan said today about the Senegal International striker:

“Papiss has a little bit of a problem, and he’s still not ready.”

While our injuries have not been too bad this season, we have been hit recently with a number of them, and of course Remy’s three match suspension didn’t help either.

And there was also disappointing news today that Cheick Tiote is doubtful for the game at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

What do you think?

I would love to have Senol Gunes here…He rook Turkey to the semis of the WC and got Trabzonspor into the CL. He also plays the way KK and SBR played.

How good of a businessman is MA really? When he can put JFK in charge of one of his businesses I have my doubts. Im shocked at reading about all the JFK stuff to be honest and i have always told myself that while MA did some strange things, at least he knew how to run a business… Well not this business, thats for sure!.

well as far as i’m concerned park the bus is best as we have no goals in our team.

dejong we don’t know about so no good expecting them from him.

HBA he is the most over rated player in our team and it’s like i’ve said before really he only gets this because of that wonder goal against everton followed by a bad injury.

shola yes he shouldn’t start but what differance does it make because if he didn’t start then he would be the best hope for a goal off the bench.

armstrong and cambell. the only time you get goal scorers of these players age are when they are as skilled as wayne rooney. strikers know that football fans worldwide are not patient enough so if they didn’t score a goal at all this season then they would go down in the same manner as sammy has.

An intersting read on MA. Don’t really understand the bit about him carrying his mobile phone around in a plastic bag on his brief case?! Haha.

Remember when he first bought the club and was out in bars with the fans…what has the guy done? What a mess now, quite sad really, if he’d played his cards right (ahem) would be great to have the owner of a club out with the fans after matches, etc. How times change!

  • 10 JackButler // Feb 6, 2014 at 3:33 PM

    + designs+

    Damn u auto correct

  • 11 lesh // Feb 6, 2014 at 3:33 PM

If Cheik’s injured, why is the news treated as bad?

Surely we haven’t forgotten that Kinnear had assessed our players and declared that we are well of for very talented midfielders.

Kinnear’s been gone five minutes and all of the work he did for the club’s been forgotten!

Sadly that’s life – you only value somebody when they’re gone. Shame.

    @5
welcome to the virtual world of social media

Their might have been much worst in years gone by but what was missing in them years was internet, instead it was all about a social night out with friends you knew and the if you disagreed with them you would soon get round it as the important thing was you remained friends.

Now you have all sorts of things from facebook, twitter to blogs, forums and all these have one thing in common they are available worldwide, so while before the chatting was a calm a relaxing on with friends, now it a very argumentative one with all sorts of people from the rude and selfish, to the overly soft and very polite.

the big thing about all of this is we don’t know the people we speak to so don’t put half as much thought into our options.

i’m not wanting it to sound offensive bloggers.
    sorry if it sounds offensive.

all i’m saying really is how things have changed now that the internet is so big.

Valle, my sentiments entirely judging by the characters Ashley employs to run his football interests and his failure to carryout due diligence when he purchased the club, leads us to the conclusion that his business acumen isn’t as good as we are led to believe.

    I would play

    Krul

    Debuchy Mbiwa Willo Hidara

    sissoko

    santon anita benny

    sammy/armstong de jong

Until Mash gets a grip of himself and starts running the club in a sensible manner and shows some ambition NUFC is on a slippery slide. I’ve never spoke to one happy fan. The club in time if things don’t pick up will not only drive players away but also the fans, in fact it’s already happening.

  • 16 toonbrother // Feb 6, 2014 at 7:17 PM

no colocinni for three more weeks? fvck yeah

  • 17 Jarra // Feb 6, 2014 at 9:02 PM

I am not surprised to hear that suddenly after very few injuries players are starting to drop like wild fire, bit like some of us maybe have done in the past throw in the odd sick cause can not be bothered. Sadly I really do think the heart has been ripped out of the players as it has for many of us.
