Does anyone think Cisse should be given another chance up with de Jong? I think he’s been out of the team for long enough to have go the message and the goals he scored last year were no flook, you can’t teach that s**t!

  • 2 John Tudor // Feb 8, 2014 at 6:16 PM

    no get shot of both

  • 3 p // Feb 8, 2014 at 6:16 PM

  • 4 BandB // Feb 8, 2014 at 6:18 PM

    roblee7

Archeomag and I suggested that last week, but Cisse is injured, isn’t he?
De Jong’s game looks like is about flick-ons, which he has having to chase himself today.

  • 5 toonking // Feb 8, 2014 at 6:18 PM

roblee cisse is injured at the minute

  • 6 roblee7 // Feb 8, 2014 at 6:19 PM

NUFC team out of players who have left and still playing in England

    Harper

    Simpson. Distin Woodgate. Enrique

    Routledge Barton. Nolan Duff

    Carroll Ba

Better than our starting 11 today??

  • 7 roblee7 // Feb 8, 2014 at 6:20 PM

Forgot about that…doubt Pardew would of played him anyway?

  • 8 stuart no9 // Feb 8, 2014 at 6:22 PM

leeds mag @22——– yeah , – new name – newcastle nil – ground – the 03 arena -pardew has done a fantastic job since he came in in place of CH to erm , wat was it again ? oh yeah ‘take us to the next level’

toonking exactly mate all i pointed out was it was an attacking team on paper

and to read the posts before the game all saying we’d be ultra defensive with shola playing got it wrong!

i didn’t expect much from the game but it certainly wasn’t as bad as some make out

plus i have been asking all the neggers for some time now how much attacking options have we got in this squad!
    not one has answered!
    says it all really toonking?

  • 10 toonking // Feb 8, 2014 at 6:25 PM

i wouldn’t say they are all better but what i would say mind is those players would be just what we want in our team when we are in a chrisis like we currently have.

sammy shown it himself to and last week when he had more determination than any other player, probably because deep down he loves newcastle whereas foreigners will just stand around because when they play for us they either join for money or want to see progress and progress is something newcastle certainly don’t shown much of with this owner.

our first team TO FANS LIKE YOU

    DEBUCHY FROM LILLE

    MBIWA from montpellier

    HBA from marseille

cabaye when he was with us from lille

    goufran from Bordeaux

remy from QPR but originally a french player from marseille

    finnally marvo from rennes

even sissoko who was from one

saylor sammy dummett shola…… these are NEVER GETTING CLASSED as world class player so that is WHY i don’t include them FACT.

You said our team was a french league one team WRONG

We have no world class players so again WRONG

Mbwia is not a first team regular so again WRONG

  • 12 manxpie // Feb 8, 2014 at 6:26 PM

btw our last out n out LW!!!!!

bull manx what has options got to do with it

  • 14 p // Feb 8, 2014 at 6:26 PM

Manxpie, yes it was better than i thought it would be. even jose mused about the fact that we were competitive and 3-0 did not necessarily reflect the overall performance of both teams

  • 15 John Tudor // Feb 8, 2014 at 6:27 PM

he should motivate what he has, he cant fullstop

  • 16 manxpie // Feb 8, 2014 at 6:28 PM

daztoon still waiting for your list of attacking players we’ve got!!?

  • 17 roblee7 // Feb 8, 2014 at 6:28 PM

Manxpie…There’s a few there I think we could of done with today. And I forgot about Guthrie who was very under rated IMO

  • 18 daztoon // Feb 8, 2014 at 6:29 PM

    manxpie

you can`t have it both ways by saying we have a very attacking team out v Chelsea then asking someone to list you our attacking player`s.

If that makes sense to you then no wonder you and toonking get on well

  • 19 manxpie // Feb 8, 2014 at 6:30 PM

what has options got to do with it!!?
bloody hell that doesn’t even warrent an answer!!

  • 20 beermonkey // Feb 8, 2014 at 6:30 PM

    @roblee7

I think I counted 9 ex players in prem last weekend

    is woodgate still playing

u missed parker, given cant think who else

  • 21 roblee7 // Feb 8, 2014 at 6:31 PM

Toonking. That’s what I miss in our team at the moment. A Nolan Barton, battlers. I’d even put Carroll in that bracket, gives his all or did for us anyway.not enough grit in this team, aside from Tiote I’d say

  • 22 p // Feb 8, 2014 at 6:32 PM

Anyone else cheering cardiff on btw?

  • 23 yo-yo // Feb 8, 2014 at 6:32 PM

    Manx

The first two goals were slow marking – Willo almost got to the pass for the second one – and the third was a defensive brainstorm as we didn’t need to give away the pen.

Yes they are a better side than us – but we could have done even better than 0-3…..

  • 24 p // Feb 8, 2014 at 6:33 PM

At least the unwashed got beat today and wes brown will miss 3 games

  • 25 manxpie // Feb 8, 2014 at 6:34 PM

we had an attacking team out on paper!!
but 1 has played about 5 games in the prem
    1 is a lb
1 is about as dependable as a chocolate fire guard

so AGAIN i ask you list our attacking players if you can’t just say so!?
otherwise only repost my poin’ts in context!

  • 26 roblee7 // Feb 8, 2014 at 6:34 PM

Beermonkey he’s at Boro I think! Yeah Parker too. Oh…and of course Milner! Tragic that we sold him given he was still so young with quite obvious talent and ability to progress. Speaking of which, Rputledge just scored for swansea

  • 27 daztoon // Feb 8, 2014 at 6:34 PM

    Attacking player`s in the squad
Remy,Shola,Goofy,Benny,Sissoko,Sammy,Marveaux,De Jong,Obertan,Cisse. You could add to that our attacking fullbacks as you say yourself Debuchy,Santon,Haidra and Dummet

  • 28 p // Feb 8, 2014 at 6:35 PM

Roblee routledge just reminded you about him

  • 29 Laurent Robert 32 // Feb 8, 2014 at 6:35 PM

We base our goal scoring on long shots and individual pieces of skill and we wonder why we can’t score.

It’s an inept idiots guide to goal scoring and when Cabaye and Remy are no longer in, we’ve even less chance.

    Nice one, Alan.

too right mate and i’ve been like TADS really all summer i was screaming for us to sign more wingers because that way it would allow more space for the strikers and CM to go forward.

4-4-2 is complained about so much but it’s a very good formation when we have the player and that is what we just don’t have.

these neggar keep saying marvo shoulg a no10 and HBA should be a number 10 they also saying they both should be starting then they go and contradict them selves coomplaining pardew playing players out of position.

they complain about obatan sammy starting on the wing well again that contradict their other options when they complain that he doesn’t start with enough attacks.

wingers and forwards are what i’ve always known myself to be a real shortage and i’m sure you yourself know that too but even if you disagree i enjoy your chat much more just from the relaxing way i type my words.

  • 31 roblee7 // Feb 8, 2014 at 6:36 PM

Probe be a canny squad anyway with all our ex players still playing, defo have more fight than this lot

  • 32 stuart no9 // Feb 8, 2014 at 6:36 PM

Manx. If we have. No attacking options , who’s fault is that? Par dew was hired to take us to the next level. 3 years down the line we can’t put a team out with ” attacking options” also now a 3-0 defeat is not that bad ????? And it’s taken 3 years to do that ?… I could have done that for a fraction of the cost of par dew

  • 33 p // Feb 8, 2014 at 6:36 PM

  • 34 croftus5678 // Feb 8, 2014 at 6:38 PM

ok first off i must apologise to pards and accept he knows better than me :-(
i would have chosen mbiwa over saylor but its pretty obvious as to why saylor is played ahead of him now !

thought luuk was awsome for us today and what we have been lacking for a long long time and thats a complete striker.

sammy i would pick ahead of arfa as he makes more things happen and tbh i’m getting fed up of arfa thinking he’s a one man team when twice he could have passed to luuk to have a shot.

starting to understand why marv isnt played i thought the lad might have changed but obv not :-(

anita awsome game / sissoko had good game / dummett good game in fact i’d only really say arfa/marv/mbiwa/gos was my frustrating players tbh

  • 35 Marty-Toon // Feb 8, 2014 at 6:38 PM

    toonking exactly
we’ve got 2 attacking players on the wings plus dummet n debuchy like to get forward plus arfa and dejong
thats a hell of an attacking team!

That is what you posted today THAT`S A HELL OF AN ATTACKING TEAM so what more do you want.

Youre just making yourself look a right idiot if you carry on asking for attacking players after saying that YOURSELF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 37 manxpie // Feb 8, 2014 at 6:41 PM

yo yo for me the 1st 2 were world class goals
brilliant football that shows what great passes in the final third can achieve
santon could’ve done much better on the 1st and willo could’ve done better

but thats wat great players do in the final third

we have been shocking for a long time in that department but that is down to the players imo

arfa should watch hazards game and really see how passing can change a game in an instant (remy aswell btw!)

  • 38 toonking // Feb 8, 2014 at 6:41 PM

roblee agree it was one of the reason i did want him to return to newcastle. tiote is the only one certainly looking passionate for us at the minute although gouffran still wouldn’t rule him being a passionate one yet as he’s been missing since the chaos has returned.

Swap the managers round and I’m sure that in 6 months, Jose would have us putting in a sparkling performance against Chelsea and people would be saying that Chelsea players are a waste of money, showed no heart etc.

We were lucky Chelsea were on an off day at St. James’. Normal service resumed today.

  • 44 stuart no9 // Feb 8, 2014 at 6:46 PM

Manx — call yourself a Newcastle fan ?????? You have blamed the team – the players for everything that has gone wrong and never once put any blame on the man in charge – par dew . Fan ??? A disgrace more like .

  • 47 daztoon // Feb 8, 2014 at 6:50 PM

We have many attacking options but Pardew`s game plan is not to lose rather than set us up to be the attacking team from the get go.

Last season away at Man utd and Arsenal Pardew played a team without fear and we were unlucky to lose the first one and ran out of legs in the Arsenal game.

  • 48 mag // Feb 8, 2014 at 6:50 PM

Another unwanted record broken under Pardew, first time a Chelsea player has scored a hatrick against us since 1980, sack Pardew!

  • 49 BandB // Feb 8, 2014 at 6:50 PM

And if you further subtract the games in which Cabaye’s goals made a difference to the points haul, we would be on 31 points, and rather less comfortable than we are.

  • 50 Black and White with an army lol // Feb 8, 2014 at 6:50 PM

well manxpie might not have blamed the manager once but you have not ONCE blamed the owner for what has gone wrong with us.

where were you when all them good results were coming our way before christmas?

this team is missing so many players from that great run including the one who it was built around.

  • 52 daztoon // Feb 8, 2014 at 6:52 PM

Here’s a quiz question for y’all, who was the last player we signed from another premier league team?,been thinking all of our signings are unproven in this league and we hope they adjust.Surely there must be some value in the Prem somewhere.I don’t know the answer so please don’t ask.

the big difficulty is premier league players are a lot more expensive than those from abroad. The thing that ashley doesn’t understand, is when a team is going to sell a player to a rival in the same league, of course they are going to charge more, what does he expect them to do, help an opposition team for a cheap price?

  • 62 manxpie // Feb 8, 2014 at 7:01 PM

soz daz toon just seen your list and replied to it

and stuart i think you’ll find i support the team fella and have said quite a few times that with a better manager we’d be alot better but i actually can get into my thick head (unlike you)
that ashley will never get a better manager but i also acknowledge (unlike you!) that under all the circumstances pardew has done a very very good job!

I listed attacking players and it doesn`t matter if i think they are good enough i didn`t sign them.

For the record i think we have a good 11 on their day,but an average squad.

  • 65 jimiley // Feb 8, 2014 at 7:03 PM

Well Pardew has one win in eight. Laudrup was sacked after one win in 10 at Swansea after winning a CUP ten months ago..
Does anybody think Pardew will get the sack if if does not win the next two games?
    Of Toon managers:
Pardew has the worst ever record as a manager against the scum.
He has the worst ever record in the Cups.
We lost two successive home games last season SIX nil and then THREE nil ( latter to the scum).
He took us from 5th top to 5th bottom in a season.
    Should Pardew be sacked?
If yes, then why has he not been sacked?
He has the worst ever record

  • 66 MrMojoRisin76 // Feb 8, 2014 at 7:05 PM

Lots of people on here, including myself, wanted Tom Ince, contract running out in the Summer, would have been cheap, there was talk of him talking to us but we don’t know how true this is.Man Of The Match today for Palace, early day’s but great start.F@ck off Jabba.

  • 67 mag // Feb 8, 2014 at 7:06 PM

De Jong is worse than Shola, Anita is terrible along with benny, Pardew should be sacked immediately for being useless and not playing players in their proper positions his tactics are a complete joke.

  • 72 manxpie // Feb 8, 2014 at 7:10 PM

mojo i said this the other night

which up and coming manager from outside this league would choose this as his 1st managing job?

there is a reason that certain young up and coming managers choose the lesser teams to manage 1st!

but lets let them posters dream!!

it ain’t ever ever gonna happen!!
infact we’ve had cup winning managers come he and its been there grave yard!!

  • 74 toonking // Feb 8, 2014 at 7:11 PM

if dejong is worse than fcuk shola
WHO THE FCUK DO WE HAVE AS FORWARD

    CISSE injured
    remy suspended
    goufran injured
    shola rubbish
    dejong rubbish

so think before coming out with he should play players in right positions and others are rubbish because that their proves pardew need to play rubbish or players out of position.

  • 75 John Tudor // Feb 8, 2014 at 7:12 PM

when ashley sees we are not safe he will get the bullet

  • 76 stuart no9 // Feb 8, 2014 at 7:12 PM

Toonking at 41 – yes I do blame the owner of course I do – more than anyone .however , he is just part of the package of what is so dysfunctional about NUFC. Getting back to that “great run ” wow – we won 4 off the belt but in typical pardew style – he lost 4 but hang on- not just lost 4 lost the most important games of the season against – schhhh – the mackems , not once – not twice in fact not even 3 times . 4 losses – 1 win – 1 draw in 6 games . Now sorry if I’m being a bit picky here, but when is the last time that happened. . .? I am sure you know the answer. That and the fact he rested our goal scorer for the cup tie against Cardiff , where a new kid on the block (OGS) gave pards a lesson on how to manage . Right or wrong ??? So yeah a good run of “4 games ” suddenly came to an abrupt halt. Is that the highlight of his 3 disastrous years in charge ?????

  • 82 Laurent Robert 32 // Feb 8, 2014 at 7:16 PM

It doesn’t really matter which players fill the positions. The system is very poor, so ultimately, Pardew will be found out.

He was found out years ago…

  • 83 MrMojoRisin76 // Feb 8, 2014 at 7:17 PM

I think people are being a bit harsh on LDJ,he’s in the hardest league in the world, hasn’t played for months and he’s at a new club. His hold up play looked ok when he was involved, his link up play was decent, created a chance for himself, should have done better on a header from 8yds out,ran the full length of Chelsea’s back 4 late on in the game and set Sammy up and he should have scored so movement looks good.Give him a few games.

  • 84 John Tudor // Feb 8, 2014 at 7:17 PM

no only every other game would be satisfactory

  • 85 manxpie // Feb 8, 2014 at 7:18 PM

daztoon our problem if you hadn’t noticed is creating chances so i thought you might have actually understood!?

plus my original question that no one answered was about wingers

and my main question was (that you don’t care about coz you didn’t sign them!!!! what!!!?????)
is what has pardew got in attacking options?
    the answer is not much!
and me saying he’s put out an attacking team has nothing to do with the options he has!!
hope that clears it up fella!! or should i call you an idiot to!!!

santon i agree he was wrong to play who he played in the cup but that game is all that he can be blamed for this season.

but he did very well in the europa league with us last year and also we were the much better team against city in the league cup.

also lots were talking about us having a chance of 4th place and when a manager has very little confidence of getting players in during the transfer window they we he will be always likely to take risks as you can see now we have lots of key players missing.

using cups as an excuse is nonsense anyway because no matter who the manager is if we are battling for relegation or top 6 managers these day rest some of the starting 11 even top ones FACT.

To everyone but the genius @74 and Pardew, Santon is never a playmaker and benny is never a defensive midfielder.

    manxpie

Maybe the idiot sign you can keep as i think you’ve well and truly ernt that out right.

Many have listed attacking players and options we think could be used.

Even you today on paper said we had a very attacking line-up.

Maybe we did on paper but have a manager who doesn’t set out to utilize the attacking players we have.

Instead the team is set up not to lose rather than set up to win matches.

Manx – I love it when you get personal and abusive . It fills me full of pleasure when I have got a fellow blogger lost for words that he actually has to be abusive to compensate for his lack of debating skills. Thank you .
