Magpies Lose Four League Games In Row – First Time Since 1977

It was back in September and October  of 1977, the last time we lost four league games in a  row in England’s top league – then known as the First Division – and we lost 3-2 to West Ham, 3-0 to West Brom, 2-1 to Coventry and 2-1 to Derby County – before we took Chelsea apart 1-0 to stop the rot.

alan pardew home to Sunderland 3-0 Feb 2014

Alan Pardew – must stop the rot

And that was the season Newcastle finished second bottom with just 22 points from the 42 games and we were relegated.

his time we have lost four on the trot and never even managed to score a goal and lost 1-0 to Arsenal, 2-0 to Manchester City, 3-0 to Sunderland and now 4-0 to Tottenham – so we have conceded 10 goals and scored none – even worse than in 1977,

Alan Pardew must get his players together and get them playing again, and it seems to us the players are even depressed at losing their top player Yohan Cabaye last month – but they must pull out of this free fall – that’s their job.

And if Alan Pardew cannot get better performances out of the team that had some decent players in the side tonight, his position could come under jeopardy.

We have been beaten by Sunderland three times in a row for the first time since 1923, and now four league defeats in a row for the first time since 1977 – and we should point out that neither of these  runs are at an end yet. 🙁

Yes we are short of Coloccini, Tiote and Remy but the displays have been poor at best, and we were only three players short tonight.

It’s up to Alan Pardew, the coaching staff and the players to stop the rot – and start earning their wages.

The only positive about our lack of ambition is that we miss out on champs league….imagine a pardew team going 2 legs against bayern munich, all kinds of records would be set.

Does anyone else have a little chuckle to themselves as we wind up another long punt to the back post for yet another dud free kick?

the records surely must show that Pardew doesn’t belong here, out of all the managers we’ve had Pardew must be the worse one.

even fat Sam didn’t have these worse records whilst with us!

what annoys me is 90% of set plays go to willo and the only time we look like scoring or have scored are the other 10% of the time.

I am seriously contemplating giving up on NUFC this season. Theres absolutely nothing to play for. No ones putting a shift in. Most fans have given up and watching this sh1t every week is making me depressed. But im NUFC till I die and its so hard to not turn my back on the team however sh1t their doing and however much turmoil our club is in….

depends what you class as honourable.

He may feel that as we have been patient with him he wants to work hard to repay us, he might think he can turn things around (even though a lot of us don’t think he can).

    Just a thought.

But i thought we already established money > honour haha

    G/Day from Oz

Well, that was deplorable. I switched over to Liverpool Fulham at 2-0 and wtched proper football.

Pardew must go now and my guess is Glenn Hoddle appointed by the end of the week.

Pardews pay off will impact our summer transfer budget.

Not the time to even try and defend Pardew on any level tonight. Defence and midfield were woeful too as was everyone.

    But as you ask

Cisse senegal international prolific everywhere till Pardewed

De Jong Dutch international who Pardew has wanted for ages

Now we can see where we are.

Above us are 8 teams. They lost 8 or less games this season.

    Us – 11 loses.

Our goal difference is negative. All the team above us have a positive goal difference.

38 goals against. Only Stoke, Norwich Cardiff and Fullham have a worse one with Sunderland and WBA with us – 38.

Very very sad. And all of this only in the last 8 games.
    4 points out of 24 possible !!!!!!

And scored only 4 goals in those 8 games. Goals against us – 17 !
Only one clean sheet and that was a draw.

Sad it has come to that mate, but fully understand why.

I think that in all my 24 years I have never known a time when the fan base was so down and feeling defeated all the time, a lot of passion is gone now even though we have been through much tougher times.

Pardum was spouting recently that he wanted to win a trophy at NUFC before he got to 200 games.

He has absolutely no chance of winning anything if he had 2000 games. Time to go, now!

A$h£€¥ is at the heart of this shambles. He is the one who appointed his cockney mafia, he is the one who decided to forego any ambition for NUFC in favour of promoting SportsDirect.

I’d prefer a total change from top to bottom than just tread water in the PL.

I rate hoddle very highly, if not for his insensitive comments all those years ago I think he would have given england a great chance to kick on.

Might be an Ashley appointment, one of the old boys but actually a good manager.

Well the best explanation is the Ashley bought the club but did not know somebody elsse owned SJP.

What looked a nice flip if he sold SJP was a disaster. Now he will get that money back resyults dont mnatter.
