Newcastle Linked With German International Midfielder

Newcastle were said to be interested in 27 year-old German International Aaron Hunt in January.

Aaron Hunt – Werder Bremen attacking midfielder

Hunt is out of contract in June and he has been in negotiations with Werder Bremen about a new deal, but it seems no agreement has been reached with the German club and other clubs have been able to contact Hunt and his agent since last month.

Hunt joined Bremen in 2001 as a youngster and he made his first team debut in September 2004, as a substitute against Hannover 96, just days after his 18th birthday.

Having a German father and an English mother, and being born in Goslar, West Germany – Aaron was eligible to play for both Germany or England – but being resident in Germany he elected to play for all the German youth sides, and he has three full caps for Germany.

There is news in the German magazine Bild today, that his club have offered him a new four year deal, but they want a decision on this by the end of March.

But Aaron’s delay in signing a new deal in Germany, could point to him wanting to become a free agent in the summer, and we’re sure Newcastle would be very keen to sign this talented attacking midfielder on a free transfer.

He has played 253 times for his Bundesliga club and scored 65 goals with 40 assists, which is not a bad record at all.

He would be a bargain buy for Newcastle, if we could get him on Tyneside as a free agent.

What do you think?

This summer will see Newcastle United filled with free transfers and cheap foreign imports and Pardew still in charge.

£20mil for cabaye, free replacement, it’s good business if that’s what you’re in to. We may as well fill the squad with free/cheap players we don’t have a good enough coaching set up to work with expensive top quality players.

Does his parentage have any baring on his residential status and would he qualify as a home grown player despite never having played here? Clutching at straws, also plus 27yo free agent on a 5 year contract will still heave resale value at 30.

Seems a good player and heard plenty positive things about him, although seen very little myself. If free would be brilliant.

The cost of players isn’t more concern, whether all free or all 50mil I don’t care as long as we get what we need in.

I think this summer will be the last where Ashley can actually get away with the ‘wait and see’ approach we have for the next transfer window. He has reached a tipping point with gaps in the squad and players leaving where he needs to show some intent…..it’s a huge summer.

we need inspiration and players that will boost our current players into thinking we can win the prem and get into champs league !

siem would be good addition as a cm and create aswell as add goals and cabella also if played as a winger !

we also need a fast winger who can cross and enjoys crossing !

get these area’s correct to pep up everyone fans/owner/manager/players and defence will become a lot easier and stable.

The old adage “Buy cheap buy twice” has never been proved so apt than under Fat mikes ownership of Newcastle United.

    Newcastle squad has 24 players:

    2014 –
    Remy – loan
    de Jong – loan
    Shola – release
    Gosling – release

    2015 –
    Sammy – ?
    HBA – sell
    R Taylor – release

    2016 –
    Obertan
    Marveaux
    Santon
    S Taylor
    Williamson
    Colloccini
    Elliot

The only player that is likely to have his contract extended is Sammy, which means 13 players (6 home grown) will be exiting in the next 2 years. I hope a credible Chairman is in place prior to the summer to oversee this transition and hopefully, also install a new manager who is capable of more consistent results and playing style.

interesting? yes…..vince mcmahon take over. The Ameobi’s becoming tag team champs, pardew having to enter a royal rumble with 29 other managers to determine who keeps their job.

That is 90% of it….but then somebody will get a chair and deal some damage. It can’t be worse than watching the football we have the past few weeks.

No idea if this will happen, not very likely i imagine, but it makes a nice talking point.

a twitter rumour with a few random websites reporting it then picked up by the nationals today.

His net worth is only $1.1bil……much less than Ashley but imagine he’d have plenty people willing to invest with him if he wanted.

The McMahon story surfaced in 2011, it’s only re-surfaced because someone commented on the old story, making it active, and then someone spread it on gossip sites and it has since spread around the internet and then seeped into national press.

Journalism in this country is beyond lazy.

Just get grenier, cabella, centre half, centre forward and goal keeper. That should keep us mid table. If only, ashleys water tight and still has his first pay packet in a brown envelope I bet. Fees/cost don’t bother me just as long as they’re an improvement on what we have aleady got.

Ending a sentence with FACT usually indicates that it most certainly isn’t a fact and is just a strongly held opinion.

The problem with coming to conclusions about Ashley is that he is so clandestine that it is hardly to categorically prove some of the things he is doing – such as selling our players to recoup the debt, not investing in order to maximise profits etc but we can reasonably guess given that logical implications following his failure to invest in 2 subsequent transfer windows could well point to that fact. (Oops)

None of us really know, but all I know is that his plan is not good for NUFC. Arsenal fans complain about their failure to adequately invest for years, but that could be pointing towards putting themselves in a good position going forward. They kept their powder dry in order to pay off their stadium and now that is done, they have surplus with which they can buy big name stars with.

I seriously doubt that MA has the same ambition in mind for us…
