The Newcastle captain Fab Coloccini has been interviewed for the match day program notes for tomorrow’s game against Aston Villa.
Fabricio Coloccini – will return tomorrow
The Argentine International injured his knee in the 1-0 defeat at West Brom, and that was only minutes after Mathieu Debuchy had been sent off, and was subsequently suspended for the next three games.
Colo seems delighted to be back tomorrow, and like a true leader – he is only looking forward to what’s possible now for Newcastle United:
“After seven weeks out it is nice to finally be back.” “I have been injured since New Year’s Day and, during that time, it has been very difficult to watch the team’s performances and results without being able to do anything about it.”
“You want to help your teammates but you can do nothing and it gets very frustrating.” “But I am just pleased to be back now.”
“It means that I can do my best on the training pitch and in matches to help the team and hopefully get us winning games again.”
“In every season, there are good times and bad times but we are a good team full of good players and we have to keep working hard and remain positive.”
“It does not help to spend too much time thinking about matches that have now gone. Instead, we have to look at the ones in front of us.”
“The final 12 games of the season – and try to start picking up points again.” “That begins against Aston Villa.”
Those are good and positive words from Colo, who may even be leaving Newcastle this summer, but it’s been proven time and again that Newcastle are a much better side when Colo is in the team.
And he’s in the team tomorrow, and a win is what we need to raise the spirits of Geordie supporters everywhere – and we could get it too.

Comment #47In fairness to Pardew there is normally a vein of logic behind his team selections – but it’s a logic that is somehow alien to NUFC. Keegan and SBR prepared teams that tapped into the emotional DNA of the club – competitive, mobile, marauding.
Keegan would chose this team for tomorrow if in charge-
krul
debuchy/colo/willo/santon
sissoko/tiote/gouffran
ben arfa/de jong/remy
This system requires massive shifts from gouffran and Sissoko to cover the attacking FBs and flair attackers behind and ahead of them, but recognises the need to restore as much fire-power as possible to the team.

Comment #59jazzy nah mate just jesper n catchy n laurent who think the guy is misused and made the scape goat
but i haven’t seen anyone just blame arfa there are plenty of the players that have been criticised and rightly so on different occasions
but in the last 4 games arfa has had alot of time on the pitch
no assists no goals thats wat he’s on there for
so surely criticising him is very justified

I have the same opinion of marveaux. How long can you keep giving players a chance hoping one day they will come good. When marveaux just stood there after losing the ball against Chelsea and let them attack disgusted me and was the last straw for me regarding this player

Comment #70Makes me laugh when people go on about our cheap signings being crap – HBA was lauded as a bargain, as was Sissoko, Gouffran, Cabaye, Debuchy, Haidara – I don’t think any of them are world class but it’s generally felt amongst footballing circles that Newcastle have done extremely well in transfer business
Think we we actually need is to get a decent managers and coaching staff, unfortunately Fatty won’t loosen the purse strings and prefers to pay low basic wage to be topped up by bonuses – thats not going to attract world class managers so we’re stuck with the calibre of Pards, Carver and Stone

Comment #71I hardly think 10 minutes is really a chance
and if it’s effort you want, please don’t slate santon , the kid puts in more effort than most in a black and white shirt, him and debuchy run the most for our team,
manx where is any kind of proof that it is not pardew
I posted stats on here prooving it is his tactics that kills our forwards
I guess we just have to take your word for it,
if you have a valid point I will hold my hands up and say you are the master

Comment #73“Regardless of how they feel about me, any individual player or the owner or anything else, they come for the team and they will come for the team on Sunday.
Rousing words from our manager. Said something with passion for a change instead of corporate, rehearsed bull shit.

Comment #78There were always serious question marks over signing Marveaux, we only got him after he’d failed his medical at Liverpool. Oh and by the way, 10 points for guessing Liverpool’s DoF at the time who’d wanted to sign him…

it’s a fact, per minutes on the pitch , HBA has more goals and assists than sissoko
I carnt remember the exact minuts but
HBA has a goal or assist about every 160 mins
goofy about every 156 mins
sissoko about every 225 mins
this was all done before this loosing streak so the the minuts will probably will be in HBA favour now due to the amout of time both sissoko and goofy have had more game time
this is a fact
