Newcastle won at the death today at St. James’ Park with a Loic Remy winner in injury and it came only a couple of minutes after he had hit the post with another good effort.
Loic Remy – hits the ball home with his left foot in 92nd minute
This is what Loic Remy had to say to Sky Sports immediately after the game this afternoon:
“We are very relieved tonight because I think the last few games have been difficult for us.” “We’ve lost some important players like Cabaye and we’ve got so many injured as well so for us it was important to win today because all the confidence is good to win.”
“We’ve lost some important players like Cabaye and we’ve got so many injured as well so for us it was important to win today because all the confidence is good to win.” “Even at home, the fans are expecting a lot from us so now we are very happy and I think the team has found a good spirit which is good for the end of the season.”
“I was very hungry because I missed three games and had to leave my team-mates,” “For me I was very concentrated to the maximum and I wanted to score as a striker.” “That’s why I’m very happy. I missed some good opportunities and before the next game I will look at this.”
“I never feel my chance has gone. I always want to score or give assists and for me until the game is finished I trust I can score. That’s what happened this afternoon,”
Remy also graciously dedicated his goal and the win to Newcastle’s assistant manager John Carver, whose father unfortunately passed away this week.
Remy is not only an excellent player and a very good team player, but he also seems such a great lad.
If only we can get this striker signed on a permanent deal at Newcastle – miracles can happen, can’t they?

“ohh and your stat about sissoko, chances created, 3rd highest in the league,
yeh right, he is fifth, the real stat you should read is the fact that clear cut chances from sissoko is 4 from the whole season”
so sissoko’s only clear cut chances are 4 for the whole season, HBA but can have his penaltys won in his list of assists for a season.

But let’s be honest we’d struggle in league 1 at the moment. Badly need to strengthen in the summer. But will it happen? Probably not.

Comment #54manx – I’ve got this horrible feeling we are going to get football of the same standard being served up for the remainder of the season. Might be some improvement from a de Jong/Remy partnership – or seeing what young Armstrong can do -but other than that really not a lot to look forward to.

Comment #56Ha ha catchy is out with his stats again.
Go on catchy tell those stas like yesterday that willo was an England player before pardew and Taylor used to score goals before pardew (even though he got 3 in 3 games under pardew)
I really hoped you would disappear after a win like you did for the few months when we were doing ok. But no such luck.
Anyway back to the stats. Newcastle 1 villa 0. Even though benteke murdered us?

Alan Pardew’s win percentage in all competitions as Newcastle United manager so far. His overall record is P 117, W 43, D 31, L 43.

You got it spot on Iron Mikes tackle interception and pass out changed the game and the belief in the players. It also brought the crowd to life and got behind the team.

Comment #60To provide some perspective, the win percentages for recent Newcastle United managers who spent the equivalent of a whole season or more leading the Magpies in the Premiership include Sir Bobby Robson (46.66%), Glenn Roeder (45.83%), Graeme Souness (43.37%), Kenny Dalglish (38.46%) and Ruud Gullit (34.61%).

There are enough things wrong with the team/manager/owner/club at the moment but coming out with things that are fantasy simply to use as a stick to beat people with is foolish.
Benteke was average bordering on poor today and cause little to no threat all day long

Have a feeling you could be right, let’s hope not, we’re basically safe now so would like to see a bit of experimenting happening with the squad, use the whole squad depth start sorting the wheat from the chaff and seeing realistically who still has something to offer and who needs to move on
We have a massive rebuild on our hands come the summer so might as well do it properly!
On today, can’t speak for everyone obviously but i wasn’t really expecting a radical change, i think we lack spark in midfield and until Cabaye is replaced i think we’ll always have a slightly more defensive look to us as most our CM’s are realistically deep lying
We hadn’t scored since west ham, Remy had just finished a 3 match ban so was expecting him to look desperate to score and a touch rusty, Cisse just can’t score and LDJ hasn’t scored for ages so wasn’t expecting a goalfest
We had also conceded 10 goals in 3 games so a clean sheet was a must
It was by no means a memorable performance but i still celebrated like a lunatic when the ball hit the back of the net!
Let’s hope we use this result as a springboard with some decent fixtures coming up hopefully with no pressure of relegation or competing for Europe (which is still bitterly disappointing) we can play with no expectation and a bit of freedom to push as high up as possible to make us a bit more attractive to potential players in the summer!
Or we’ll play the same old sh1te limp over the finish line and be left in complete limbo on the summer!

What an utter load of tosh!!!!!
Stop trying to make stats help you. Pardew has a win percentage “as newcaste manager” behind only keegan, Robson and roeder.
Forget all this more than one season rubbish. Those are the facts.
People just can’t stand that pardews Newcastle has won today.
I see spurs lost against Norwich. Come on come up with a stat for that. I bet it’s the first loss for spurs there in ages. Sack Sherwood!!!!!!!!!

Comment #70Catchy the madness is taking its toll, I understand you feel compelled to take an averse stance but in reality Benteke had a very quiet day. Please give us some instances or stats to show he ‘beasted’ anyone today. Apart from a few wasted balls across our goalmouth and maybe two half decent shots, Tim Krul had to dance to keep warm.

what they were allowed to do is keep hold of super stars and spend money.
alan shearer would have been sold if ashley were our owner we would have been begging for dyer to stay fit we would not be spending 17 mil on owen 10 mil on martins.
question for everyone if you were to do a starting 11 which players would you take from the pardew squad and which would you have taken from the bobby robson era
my starting 11 would be this
______________given
