Newcastle Win It At The Death With Brilliant Remy Goal

Loic Remy scored the winner for Newcastle two minutes into the three minutes of added time at St. James Park this afternoon with a brilliant piece of individual skill, as he got the ball on his right foot in the penalty area, switched to his left and shot the ball home to send St. James’ Park wild – and Loic wasn’t too calm either, as he ripped his shirt off and stood on the sidings and saluted the crowd.

And Loic had hit the bar three minutes earlier from twelve yards out, and the goal was the first Newcastle have scored in seven and a half hours of football.

Moussa Sissoko shoots in first half this afternoon

Loic may not sign for us in the summer, but he’s probably never known such passion and excitement from a crowd, after he scored a goal, as he did this afternoon.

But Newcastle also missed a number of chances in this game, and Cisse somehow had a fantastic opportunity two minutes into added time in the first half, but somehow put the ball over the bar from just eight yards out.

But this result is MASSIVE for Newcastle, and it’s a case that the result is so much more important than their form today, although the Newcastle side were decent enough and the players gave their all, with Mike Williamson and Coloccini sold at the back.

And it will give the lads lots of confidence – and if Loic Remy wasn’t the darling of Tyneside before this game – he is now.

I think this is break point… Just need to play 4-3-3 with gouffran,de jong and remy in front, with anita, tiote, sissoko, debuchy, williamson, coloccini and dummet…they woke up in last 25 minuts, from long winter dream…

Some experts on here said we missed out on RVW at Norwich…. 1 goal!

These same experts slam likes of Sissoko who has been our of our better players…. Cannot understand what some of you are watching!

Cisse was great today, people go on about a miss but Remy who these same people praise missed an easier chance.

Dummett is average defending his set peices and control is good though.

Gouffran was awful today well of his pace in first half the season!

    I would go 4-3-3

    Krul

    Debuchy Williamson Coloccini Haidara

    Sissoko Tiote Anita (holding)

Cisse De Jong Remy (all central)

Did nobody else get annoyed with dummet? If he hada hoofed the ball up the pitch to give villa back the posession one more time I was ready to smash everything in my sights. What a frustrating game.

    Kevy

Agree he was really showing his inexperience and he looked really slow!

His set peices and crosses where cracking though, and he was brilliant in the air.

Definetly has potential but requires abit more experience.

I personally prefer Haidara over Dummett and Santon.

Personally feel we need to sign Remy and a creative central midfielder to replace Cabaye.

De Jong looks like a decent addition early doors, just needs some confidence infront of goal to get on his way.

With De Jong, Cisse and Remy we have a decent strike force.

Very poor for 75 minutes and then we played and the crowd found their voice.

The defence was good. Colo played well on his return. Williamson was a rock, as usual. Debuchy was excellent again. Having a left back with a left foot gave us a new dimension, Dummitt needs to stay there.

Goofy was all energy as was Sissoko both without causing much trouble in Villa’s half. Anita got better as the game went on. De Jong was good when he came on. Remy was class.

What we missed was a true wide player like Ben Arfa or Sammy. Someone to run at their defence.

Still a win is a win.

Normally respect other people opinions but Bucuna had him in his pocket all day and he was very lazy.

    Not his usual working self!

    repost

cisse has been pardewed is total BS. when he misses chances as easy as that one in the first half then he is quite simply just making random kicks.

for the first 80 minute we looked so boring and i fealt as tho i would have rather watched the liverpool game, the we suddenly seem to wake up and look like a team who wants to score goals. The funny thing is those same 80 minutes the stadium itself was very quiet then decided to start screaming in the last ten minute. That tells me the crowd too is not making enough effort to get the player motivated.

anita recieved the ball from sissoko then what does sissoko do he stands still in an offside position as if he just doesn’t care.

sammy is dropped today and if the reason he is dropped does not relate to an injury then even i will give up, how the hell can we force players like HBA santon marvo and cisse to earn their place if pardew keeps being a softy and drops dummett sammy and dejong back to the bench.

    crowd
    players
    manager
they are all as bad as each other and have a leader being the worst of all the owner.

Dummett is average defending his set peices and control is good though.

That’s kind of the point, though, isn’t it? Dummett was average and still manages to be more reliable than Santon.

Bet you love Remy but didn’t he miss and EASIER chance than Cisse?

    Oh wait he did!

As usual people are blind to what Cisse did today he was our best player at times, his control was excellent (for a change) and he was only caught offside once (for a change) and he worked harder than most of the team.

I am not his biggest fan, but he was much better than he has been for a long time.

Cisse just needs confidence if you ask me.

    I agree but for me

    Haidara

    Dummett

    Santon

That’s my order. Just feel Haidara has more potential a as true left back. Dummett should be played against those with bigger players as he was brilliant in the air to be fair.

Caught out of position a lot though and does not possess the pace to redeem himself.

why is it that after just one game people say dummett is not good enough for the starting 11 but HBA and marvo on the other hand can have lots of bad games yet still be look at as world class.
Marvo BTW was never any good before he came here so don’t come out with than as an excuse and HBA was so inconsistant at his old clubs and was getting subbed most games too.

You singing to the choir praising Gouffran normally but mate he did one run back when Gabby was on his bike….

The rest of the match he was very lazy.

Even commentators pointed it out saying they would take him off should he continue.

He was better towards the end but was one of the worst games I’ve seen him play for us.

I feel he needs a rest or possibly he’s playing injured as he would normally cover and work ally harder!

He’s normally Jonas with a threat!
