Big Transfer Window Ahead For Newcastle – Pardew

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has given his press conference for the game at Hull City on Saturday, and he’s said he expects a big transfer window for Newcastle this summer, and he needs two or three acquisitions who will come straight into the team as starters.

Alan Pardew

The Newcastle financial results released on Tuesday night, show that at least on that side of the business things are going very well at the club, there’s no doubt about that and Mike Ashley’s financial prowess is putting Newcastle into a very good financial position, the best we’ve been for a very long time.

But we are not doing very well on the playing side of things, and with a number of players leaving this summer, there could be a lot of players coming in – andit could be a massive transfer window for the club.

This is some of what Alan has said today at his press conference:

“We are going to need at least two or three signings who come straight into that team or have a very, very good chance of starting.”  “I think we have got a summer where we are going to have to be a lot more active than we have been for a while because we are looking light in certain areas.”

“The strikers are an area where that we are going to have to address, for sure, and we are going to have to find a replacement for Cabaye, so that’s a big job in itself, let alone perhaps a couple of other positions that we might need.”

“The finances of the club are in good shape. As I have said before, we know we have got to do some work in the summer after losing Cabaye, we we’d like to think we will have to spend some of that this summer.”  “But the board has done well to get those figures and we look forward to the next period of,  hopefully, our growth.”

“We are the eighth best team in the Premier League in the history of it and we want to get higher than that, so that’s what we have got to try to do.”  “We haven’t Qatar money, we haven’t got that sort of finance, so it’s a slow-build, keep getting better, keep getting stronger, and hopefully our fans realise that.”

Newcastle are the 8th best team in the history of the PL in terms of the number of points we have picked up – so why is our goal only to be a top 10 club in the Premier League?

That’s a good question, and Mike Ashley surely has to become a lot more ambitious at Newcastle United, and be loyal to the traditions of what is still a great football club.

Otherwise, maybe Mike should just sell up and move out?

But this transfer window will give us a good idea of whether Mike Ashley is trying to build a top side at the club.

Maybe he is?

What do you think?

I love the fact that we are moving slowly forward in a backwards fashion. Really tremendous planning involved. Sell your best player. Look around for a free agent or two. Send Marveaux to train with the U-18’s to show confidence. Hire Obertan out as a pizza delivery lad. Let Joe run things for a couple of windows. Beautiful.

Yes we’re going to put on a really big show in the coming window. Alan will spout his usual bollocks. Mike will get the helicopter ready at the last minute. It’s so exciting already!

    Two or three signings?????

    Really Alan???

Try around eight and thats just to replace those we have lost, those that we will lose and if we were to plug the obvious holes in the whole squad we’d be well into double figures.

I’m waiting for the day when he comes out telling us that we will now begin to use and rely on our youth system…………………that should be a laugh

Nobody can doubt our owner’s commitment to excellence now. As sure as Mike fondles his budgies there will be big moves made in the next transfer window. We’ll loan Gosling out. Shola will get a new contract extension. Remy will run screaming away from the club. Obertan will continue to pick up his wage because nobody else wants him. The sense of tremendous surging progress is surely in the air now.

Well I’m certainly relieved that Remy will be leaving in the summer. He’s far too offensive minded for us. Pardew prefers defenders. That’s why Ben Arfa has been a failure with us. He just doesn’t defend while he’s attacking. Running backwards is always best when attacking by defending. Does Benny not understand that? He must be thick surely. Well we’ll either beat that attacking thing out of him or he’ll be sold. It’s for his own good.

And as for Cisse, if he starts to defend better then he will be the perfect striker for us. Lay well back. pedal backwards and defend Cisse! What is wrong with you? Defense is always the strongest form of attack. Doesn’t he understand yet?

Does anybody know why Mike’s helicopter is only ever ready to go on the last day of the transfer window? Is it a cost saving thing? Hire a pilot for 2 days each year and get a special discount? We certainly have a sharp owner so it must be something like that.

I bet we take a step back next season, there will be a tight budget it’s all about profit.
We should look to the championship for good players, they will be in MA price bracket and not demand large wages. They will fit in with the squad we have! !!!!

    MAOC are hopeless

and I must say , anyone on here still taking Pardew’s quotes seriously is either deluded or below the level of nativity. The man is a blatant liar who sucks off Ashley to stay in his job..

Pfffft “2-3 signings” , he said the same thing the past two summers and we’ve ended up with lone first team players both times.

    ASHLEY OUT
    PARDEW OUT

    Message to Ciaran

Ciaran would you take this on ? it’s just an Idea..With Travel and bizz etc I wont be able to devote any time to it but it might be something you could get your teeth into? I don’t mind being the catalyst

    Idea

There’s a massive advertising board at the Gallowgate end facing the ground.

I have been looking at advertising costs for posting a massive statement to Mike Ashley on various advertising Hoardings around the city .. there’s one at Whickham View @ £650 for 1 month for a ten by twenty feet sign ..I don’t know how much the Gallowgate hoarding will cost ..but that’s where you should post it, right outside the ground, I’m looking into that .

Before I go any further I would like everyone’s opinions on the idea. It will be a powerful statement from the supporters to Ashley..It will get massive media attention, Television and newspapers, and Could go world wide Via Sky and various outlet’s

Asking Blog members and supporters to contribute to the printers costs and the Cost of the
one month’s advert/statement to Ashley. you can pay the printer directly on your card ..it can all be set up and you will be given details of all costs and how much you need to contribute It could be as little as a fiver/tenner , depending of course on how many people contribute…and cost

You Will need to ask ED what percentage of people on here want Ashley out ..run a poll here .

Will also have to ask Ed if he can run a question as to how many of you will make a pledge toward’s costs.

There should also be a competition for the best statement to Ashley from our members here ..the winning Statement will be the one that will be unveiled on the Massive advertising hoarding outside St’James park .
We can all vote for the statement we think’s the best one.

Ciaran If you want Ashley out you could run this on here ..or put it to the T4C and Nust groups .

    Here’s the first Contribution ..£10. Opinion’s invited .

NUFC at present standing 8th. in the Premiership.
Some people might argue that this would indicate that the manager is the eighth best football manager in the country. They would not be right, of course, to claim that. There will be teams which have suffered from a run of injuries, suspensions, loss of confidence, rub of the green, etc.etc. and as a consequence sit below us in the table. There are also others at present above us who are there because they seem to have a limitless supply of cash which they are prepared to use to buy the best players available.
All in all then Alan Pardew, in spite of the crap that’s hurled at him week after week here on the blog, win or lose, seems to me to be doing a pretty reasonable job bearing in mind that there are any number of factors affecting the way a team performs other than how good or how bad the manager is.

A Filthy crowbar was used to rip the St’James park sign off our ground, and over 100 years of history. He never asked the fans what we would think about it . . Just that one reason has me seething at that Fat Uncaring Bas*ard. We actually have an owner that detests uz . likewise.

We are in for a new center back from Bulgaria .

I know it was looked into when he changed the name of the stadium and a protest group wanted, quite simply, “St James’ Park” on 3 of the boardings. I know the board next to the People’s Theatre on the Coast Road was offered at a good discounted rate. Still alot of money though.

    ONLINE GUY @65

That is a great idea, the only issue you would have with it is the same one faced by the MAOC and any other fan who wants to see the back of Ashley.

And that is there is a massive amount of apathy from the fans. People have paid for their season tickets and don’t want to miss out on games they have already paid for, the amount of people that I have spoken to that have openly said that no matter what happens they will never boycott games leaves you fighting an uphill battle. It’s catch 22 with some of the campaigns to rid us of Ashley as most won’t join as they don’t see it working as there are not enough people involved!!!

But we have to do anything and everything to bring the majority together as we have a louder voice then.

Ed can you please run a poll to see what percentage do want Ashley and co out of OUR club
