Loic Remy Taking A Shine To Newcastle

We have to be very honest that Newcastle will probably not be able to  sign Loic Remy on a permanent contract in the summer, but there’s not doubt that Loic is just loving his time on Tyneside, and he scored another goal for us on Saturday.

loic remy moussa sissoko vurnon anita

Terrific shot of Remy, Anita and Sissoko on Saturday
Love that yellow strip!

Loic latched onto a terrible back-pass by Maynor Figueroa and rounded goalkeeper Allan McGregor before joyously putting the ball into the back of the net for his 13th league goal of the season.

Loic is now in 4th place in the PL goal scoring charts behind only Luis Suarez (Liverpool) on 24, Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool) on 18 and Sergio Aguero (Manchester City) on 15.

His interviews are always positive, and he vowed to Newcastle fans on his comeback from his three match suspension for being red carded at Norwich,  that he would score goals for the club.

And he’s done that with a goal in each of the two games he;’s played since he returned – and the last minute winner last week against  Aston Villa was simply sensational.

Alan Pardew has said he think the wages Loic is offered in the summer could be the deciding factor, so if that’s the case we are hoping Mike Ashley will offer the lad a plum contract and sign him permanently.

loic remy after winner

Yes that’s Loic after scoring winner against Villa – he looks happy

Loic could become a very important player for Newcastle, if we are going to do well, very well, in the upcoming seasons.

And we pointed out yesterday that at least initially, Yohan Cabaye is not getting much playing time at PSG, with the competition for places there immense, so maybe Loic should consider that before he ever decides to leave Newcastle United.

For the record, Remy has now scored 13 goals in 24 games for Newcastle, more than one goal in every other game. 😀

What do you think?

See no reason we can’t keep him
He’s in that band of CF’s who are great form clubs in and around 10th-5th but you couldn’t see them breaking through into a top 4 team as a starter

Going to a top 4 club would be a gamble here in England, might not get a lot of playing time but at a champs league club would stay make 30 games a season.

He would thrive at arsenal or liverpool I feel though but do they really need him? He’d have to impress enough to oust somebody from the first team.

He won’t get a sniff at a man city or chelsea.

There’s only one main reason we won’t get Remy signed up and thats Mash. He just want to spend the money.

Remy is a quality all round player, but he is a QPR player.

    I rate him highly.

Possibly arsenal but think the fans are putting the club under pressure for a marquee forward tbh

Liverpool will have Borini next season along wit Aspas and the other lad they signed (can’t remember his name!)

Don’t think he wants to move abroad he seems to enjoy his football and playing in the league, honestly think we have at least a slim chance of signing him, think Pardew thinks the same given the way he’s tried all season to get him in a partnership and LDJ fits the bill
Take Remy out would LDJ work?

Will people who are claiming that this is the perfect excuse to sack Pardew now realise Mashley does not want to sack him, he is doing an excellent job according to those toad like eyes, he must rub is chins with delight at the work is puppet is carrying out.

Let’s say mash is prepared to spend tie down loic and luuk, sell cisse look at young back up forwards. Offer siem de jong a contract and look at cabella. Bring in another cb, offload colo, jonas, obertan, marveaux and possibly ben arfa and rebuild the team

Jail, his puppetry has been absolutely confirmed now. Had Ashley been itching to get rid of him, that is the perfect loophole for him.

    That is not the case.

    The ‘Unsackable One’ rides on.

AP earlier this season stated that “We have the money put to one side to sign Remy”. We have not spent any money this season so if that was the case then, Why has it changed now?

I think we have a chance, as I’ve said all along, it’s up to what others clubs come in and are willing to offer (money, champs league, europa, what league, etc).

Wenger doesn’t really give in to fan pressure so if he feels remy will help he’ll get him I think, just not sure they need him with players like walcott/podolski in that area and them liking a hold up man giroud up top.

Liverpool might use borini, looks good, but doubt they will use the others.

    LR32,
He’s here as long as Ashley is, I think if we can offer Remy 80K a week he would sign, but Pardew will never be allowed to have a team capable of finishing higher than eigth after that disastrous fifth place finsish, Mbwia, Sissoko Haidara, Tiote will all be sold in time, to be replaced with cheaper versions who may or may not come good.

Think he’d slot easily into Arsenal , liverpool (who want another striker) or Spurs! Hes not a mourinho type player and Man City can buy that top 1% of superstar so would probably look more to a messi/ibra/benzema/ribery monster signing

The best thing for him would be to stay for a couple seasons! Hes kept in the french squad with us and is enhancing his reputation deservedly so! QPR are struggling in the championship and will have to rely on the playoffs as leicester burnley and derby look much better sides (which is criminal with that squad)

If we don’t have an option to buy that alone should have been enough to sack kinnear! If remy takes this form into next season hel be a 20m rated player

The Mag site is showing a video of the Percy incident from a different angle. Clearly shows that Percy is within his technical area and that it was the Hull player who used two hands to push Percy away -clearly not a brushing past as some suggest. The footage also makes Percys’ head action look a bit more aggressive. Link:-
    http://www.themag.co.uk/the-mag-articles/pardew-headbutt-footage-shows-really-happened-decide/?

No making excuses as Percy should not have reacted. Might however put a plug in the gob of those saying Percy was not in his technical area -not that it matters really where he was. It disturb me that some folk on here “see” things differently to actual reality then argue about their erroneous reading of the incident -which then bores everyone.
Percy is going to get hammered by the FA for his stupid behaviour – and he probably deserves it.

Remy will end up at Arsenal. He’s way better than giroud, won’t have a problem getting in the first team, has a french manager with nice attacking football, and he gets his champions league football. Plus I can’t see arsenal having a problem paying money for him, unlike us.

@TDS still rate Austin, Hoilett and Phillips from there squad aswell as Cesar, Granero and Taarabt that they’ve got out on loan! This season has shown Redknapps weaknesses hugely! Their squad at the start of the season must be the strongest ever championship squad even including ours!

@4 Toon kk. Nope, I don’t think so. We already had a firm bid for Remy accepted, before QPR came in with higher wages. That says to me that :-
    a) The transfer money is available.
    b) We are prepared to spend it.

As Jail (@18) alluded to, the biggest problem will probably be wages, ala Demba Ba.
We are now in an era where Rooney has a £300k a week contract.
You get what you pay for, and I’m not convinced that even £80k a week is enough to secure Remy’s services.
I imagine that even Demba Ba maybe on more than that at Chelsea……

If a club like QPR can sign Remy then surely Newcastle United who are owned by the 15th richest man in the UK, should have no problem apart from Ashley of course.

    El Tuffers
For me there was never a question about where he was
If he’s in his technical area he can be where ever he wants to be and has every right to be there

Never thought he was merely ushered out the way it was a shove
He shouldn’t of reacted, of course he shouldn’t, but it was hardly the unprovoked calculated attack many are making it out to be!
He’ll get a deserved punishment from the Club and the FA and that should be the end of it

Those calling for his head is way OTT and the manhunt being organised by some of our own fans is embarrassing

Remy would be making a big mistake going anywhere except arsenal, and if they do not want him, then second best would be staying with us. None of the big european teams need him imo, and he would be an idiot to stay at qpr. He will play every week for us.
Obviously whem i say second best, i mean for him. Obvioisly for us ot is first best if he stays 😀

Its a no brainer for Mike Ashley. Offer Remy massive 80k wages (Collos reported wage (as he is leaving) which frees up wage bill) but do this before he reports back to QPR.

He goes back to the Championship club fresh after loving life at the toon and wanting the wage and to play again at St James. We offer respectable 10 million… Remy tells the QPR board he wants to play for Toon. They grant his wish as its best for player and club.

Remy has good 2nd season. We finish 5th. …gets sold for 22 million the year after.

    Ashley happy… we sigh

I think everyone thinks it was bad, just whether or not people think he should be sacked (we all agree he could be sacked for it I think).

The club have taken the approach of help, they have punished him but also will allow him to stay and take anger management courses.
