We have to be very honest that Newcastle will probably not be able to sign Loic Remy on a permanent contract in the summer, but there’s not doubt that Loic is just loving his time on Tyneside, and he scored another goal for us on Saturday.
Terrific shot of Remy, Anita and Sissoko on Saturday
Love that yellow strip!
Loic latched onto a terrible back-pass by Maynor Figueroa and rounded goalkeeper Allan McGregor before joyously putting the ball into the back of the net for his 13th league goal of the season.
Loic is now in 4th place in the PL goal scoring charts behind only Luis Suarez (Liverpool) on 24, Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool) on 18 and Sergio Aguero (Manchester City) on 15.
His interviews are always positive, and he vowed to Newcastle fans on his comeback from his three match suspension for being red carded at Norwich, that he would score goals for the club.
And he’s done that with a goal in each of the two games he;’s played since he returned – and the last minute winner last week against Aston Villa was simply sensational.
Alan Pardew has said he think the wages Loic is offered in the summer could be the deciding factor, so if that’s the case we are hoping Mike Ashley will offer the lad a plum contract and sign him permanently.
Yes that’s Loic after scoring winner against Villa – he looks happy
Loic could become a very important player for Newcastle, if we are going to do well, very well, in the upcoming seasons.
And we pointed out yesterday that at least initially, Yohan Cabaye is not getting much playing time at PSG, with the competition for places there immense, so maybe Loic should consider that before he ever decides to leave Newcastle United.
For the record, Remy has now scored 13 goals in 24 games for Newcastle, more than one goal in every other game. 😀

So I’m assuming you want the same legal action taken for every player who has done the exact same as Pardew?

Comment #82As a punishment Pardew should be made to watch the two dvds of the defeats against the Mackems.

There is a big difference between a players actions in the heat of battle, giving their all in sport where they could be injured for life at any minute and the actions of a manager in his suit on the touchline. The law rightly recognises that you have to take into account the nature of the game where players are concerned.
As I’ve said, humberside police media department has informed me that the media have been in touch about possible criminal offences.
The police need to step up and get this right. There can’t be one law for working class folk and another for celebs and members of professional bodies. Its not Pardew’s compromising his ability to discipline players that concerns me but the ability of the club to prosecute pitch invaders and the like without hypocrisy.

This has been done to death.

Your assumptions are correct, I would love to see our toad like owner jailed for his crimes.

Comment #88For the last time; NO CHANCE of Remy staying. For proof – refer to Cabaye.
He wants and deserves to be in a CL team – not a mid-table team that will be very lucky to qualify for Europa League with a squad nowhere near big enough to cope with it.
AND; we will not pay those kind of 70K++ wages while greedy Mike is still here.
Forget it.

I’m sure we could do better with a better manager but he hardly has a world class squad to choose from, take out our FEW best players and we’re a very average squad. We only have one top striker and he’s on loan.
Also the players have to take responsibility for some poor performances, not always Pardews fault.

I think like everything on here they look at every match and every incident as if it is the only time it has happened
its not, I don’t want him as a manager mainly for footballing reasons, Saturday being a great example, that was one of a hand full of games we played for 90 mins, a handful out of 150+ games, the skill and ability is there in the team, he just wont let it out, im sure the last time I checked, on Saturday he had the same owner, that same oppressive owner that these guys blame when pardew has a bad result,
they big up the manager when he gets it right , slate the owner when he gets it wrong
then that brings us to the head but, a head but is not defined by how hard it is, its defined by one head being pushed onto another head, and that being the case , pardew head butted him, and lets face it, souness was wrong to stick a flag in the middle of the pitch, but pardew now has a history of verbal and physical behaviour, this will be his 4th warning
simply not good enough

Comment #91Not sure how Remy is taking a shine to Newcastle – and I think the will he, won’t he story has been done to death already.
To be honest I’m already fed up of the Pardew head nudge story, it’s been typically overplayed by the media and whilst he was obviously in the wrong we should move on – he’ll get a fan and a 10 game ban from F..A
Sadly we don’t play for a couple of weeks now so I expect a right load of waffle on the blogs – think I’ll take a break

Comment #92No excuses for Pardew behavior though.
I think he’ll get a 10 game ban which is justified.
Hopefully he clears his head and becomes a better manager next season.
The team on the pitch can run itself and get a couple of victories without him.

Comment #93The way I see it people generally fall into two camps. The Pardew haters who want to use this as a stick to beat him with and a reason to sack him. And then the rest of us who by no means condone his actions but believe these things happen in the heat of a match and would expect him to be punished with a proportionate punishment. It surely depends what side the FA fall into – I can’t help feeling it is the 1st camp!

how many chances should 1 person get?
like I said , I want him sacked for footballing reasons,
what he has done is brought shame to the club, whats being said about the 4-1 win, the headline should be Newcastle score 4 against 11 men, and looked good doing it, but its not is it

Comment #96Blackley @84 —–no no no no.
You’re away again basing your post on something erroneous.
You posted …..” Its not Pardew’s compromising his ability to discipline players that concerns me but the ability of the club to prosecute pitch invaders and the like without hypocrisy.”
The club do not prosecute anybody -pitch invasion is a specific criminal offence and is dealt with by the police who will charge (or otherwise) offenders after consultation with the CPS. Nothing at all to do with the club.

Comment #97Anyone else think we are exactly where we should be given the team/squad?
Can’t help but think next year depending on player movement we can expect Swansea to be above us or at least around us in mid table.

Who cares about the headlines the red tops are banging out?
Nobody
Several posters, including me have tried to talk about the game Saturday, the performance, the goals, the passion on the pitch
Turns out though the Pardew incident is too bigger carrot being dang leg in front of you to ignore

What did you make of De Jong’s performace?
I personally thought he linked the play between attack and defense well. He also thought for the ball high up the pitch and added an aerial threat.
I think the match highlighted the importance of Tiote in the middle of the park. Together with Anita I thought they enabled us to control the game really well. The early goal gave us the confidence to play our own game and control the match.

Comment #100CPS will not prosecute Pardew as the incident did not involve a member of the public or cause a problem with public order. The Professional game of football is governed by the FA and it is for them to decide the punishment in relation to which of their own rules has been broken.

Comment #101Everyone should get off Pardew’s back. Look where we are compared to where we were. I have great respect for Chris Hughton, a man of integrity and class, but but he was only going to be a lower mid table manager at best. Compare Pards to anyone in our recent history, apart from Sir Bobby and King Kev; both of which had a lot of cash to spend, and he measures up pretty well considering the restrictions he has to work within.
Which top managers would take the job knowing the club’s business model ?
Anyone that says anything against sourness is great, which makes Pards great.

Comment #102If we got rid of Pards who would replace him? Ashley wants a yes man that he can boss and get him to front the cameras when things go wrong, anyway the rumour is that Ashley bought out Pards casino debts and he is still paying them off during the 7 years or so of his contract, previous comments are right about Ashley having the opportunity to sack him on Sat, he decided to fine him, pocket the money for himself and give him a warning, long live the king…
