Include the £20 mill from the sale of Cabs and that gives us nearly 50 million to spend
    Remy-10
    Cabella-10
    De jong-8
    Siem de jong-7.5
    Lescott-free
    Gomis-free
+ whoever you may wish to throw into that equation, The options are endless

Where does the great friendship with Jose and pards come from ? I can only think it’s because pardew is not a threat to Jose and never will be , other than that ? No idea .

Somehow I don’t think the press brought up the small issue of Jose gouging the Barca assitant manager and refusing to apologise

Never fear tadsy mate Ashley will do the right thing for us in the summer. Gomis on a free and Ba with one leg. Move that Remy fella on as he just doesn’t fit into our wage structure. We’ve got too many goals in the side as it stands now. 🙂

Our chestnuts will be in the fire next season without Remy. Would love to have Lukaku but will Mike SmallBerries offer enough? I have my doubts.

The Chronicle’s headline nailed it: “He’s a nutter but for now he’s our nutter.” This is not about justice for some fans, it’s about protecting NUFC. If you don’t think so, answer me this.

Suppose NUFC is losing 3 – 0 against Sunderland with two minutes to go and Di Canio lets the ball run under him to waste a bit of time. Colo pushes him out the way to get the ball, and DiCanio sticks the nut on him. Would the reaction from NUFC fans be different? Would they be saying “No Headbutt”? “Complete over-reaction!”? “The media and the rest of the country have it in for Sunderland!”?

Suppose the same thing in a game against another Premier league team, but Colo pushes a linesman and the linesman follows him and nuts him. The same fans supporting Pardew would be calling for the lino never to officiate again. Tell me that’s not true.

Answer me this. The club believe Pardew’s violence (call it disorderly behaviour if it suits you) is so serious that they have imposed a massive fine and given him a formal warning. The FA is likely to give him a lengthy ban. The most I’ve advocated is a trip to the magistrates like every other mortal, where he will only get a small fine. Why do you think a ban and a massive fine is probably about right, but a small fine and a slap on the wrists from the magistrates is ridiculous?

Is all this because you see everything through black and white eyes and take the argument that gives you the outcome you want rather than the right argument that gives you the result you don’t want?

That’s a good thought jazzyp mate. But surely Lukaku wants a more permanent option now? I could see a few clubs going after him. We might come in with a derisory bid at the last minute and fuel up the helicopter. That was so exciting for a few windows. The helicopter sitting on the pad. Beautiful.

I can understand it if you agree the police shouldn’t have acted against Pardew because you don’t think his actions merited a trip to the magistrates. However, I can’t understand why fans seem quite happy for the FA and police to take robust action against fans who similarly over-react or step out of line.

I wouldn’t be annoyed about double standards if the FA issued the fines and banning orders to fans and left the courts out of it.

In the four months I’ve been travelling back and forth to China, there has not been once reference to our great club in the foreign newspaper China daily, yet yesterday while sitting in the lounge I read about the headbutting incident and the $ 167000 fine.
