Welbeck leaving would be similar to Sturridge leaving Chelsea so around £12 million.

If Welbeck have similar development he would be an excellent signing.

We need homegrown players, and I can see Man U wanting to sell Welbeck if the get in one of Falcao, Mandžuki?, Benteke, Michu, D Costa, A.Ramos, Lukaku, Mario Gomez, Alexis Sanchez, Jackson Martinez and maybe even Remy and Suarez.

English media are the biggest drama queens in the world .

A bunch of under-paid blood thirsty vultures.

  • 3 Tsunki // Mar 10, 2014 at 6:08 PM

It sells toothpaste, skin cream, holidays and bog rolls so why not. The problem is when they start crusading and politicians start hopping on the spin gravy train.

On that Doncaster game, I took a visitor from Canada there and was a good half hour late thanks to that blasted tart Jordan doing a book signing in the metro. I wondered why all the glimpses faced and quiet until half time when I finally cracked and asked if there was a score, found out we were poor blue for a goal down. Carroll’s goal was a cracking left leg volley I think which lit the place up. Still a canny day after all. Blasted tart Jordan though. :)

    Glimpses faced = glum faces.

  • 5 Tsunki // Mar 10, 2014 at 6:10 PM

Didn’t need to correct it nobody is going to read it.

Poor blue? Poor value. This phone is doing my head right in.

Of course it’s an overreaction. In football what Pardew did was a headbutt – the very same action we saw from Remy shortly before – but in the real world it’s called a “movement”. The whole thing is ridiculous but the FA will want to make an example out of him.

Ah well, live and let nut.

  • 9 toonking // Mar 10, 2014 at 6:43 PM

the media might have went over the top with this incident but just think if they decided to treat in more realistic this blog would have been dead for nearly a full fortnight.

  • 10 Thump // Mar 10, 2014 at 6:47 PM

@Sazzer: Carrying on from that video and bringing it around the discussion, I noticed the Metro decided to go with the headline “Hunt owns up to diving”… it was clearly a bloody trip. He caught his foot, went over, and then did the right thing (something we don’t see too often these days).

@toonking: I think some of the recent posters have contributed to that. I’ve seen a lot of the old names vanishing because of some of the newer posters.

Ed, in this case media is plural so it would be much easier to answer that question if you were more precise!

  • 12 jesperfuglsang - captain of the lemon crew // Mar 10, 2014 at 6:50 PM

If giving him a touchline ban for the remainder of the season and a hefty fine is the verdict then I think they are within reason!

…if they are shooting for a resignation then I think they need to lay of the coffee ;)

  • 13 scout // Mar 10, 2014 at 6:53 PM

For anyone interested our Connor tomorrow at Cheltenham, 4/1 . Do it each way and if it does get chinned you’ll get your money back. Will deffo finish first 3

Slow news day so let’s beat up on the Mags. I blame 24-hour new programmes, I mean, how much really happens?

  • 15 jimmysmith // Mar 10, 2014 at 7:23 PM

Personally I’m more offended by Pards poor grammar.

  • 16 GeordieTwo // Mar 10, 2014 at 7:27 PM

Spot on jesper @12. He’ll get a touchline ban and a hefty fine to go with his club fine.

  • 17 GeordieTwo // Mar 10, 2014 at 7:27 PM

I see Gosling appears to have been betting on matches. A hefty fine coming for him as well.

  • 18 jazzyp // Mar 10, 2014 at 7:34 PM

Why oh why would any Nufc fan want Welbeck any where near our club. He would command top dollar as he’s English…..10 mill+ I would have thought. Ba would cost half that and be available for similar wages.

  • 19 spitfire_ // Mar 10, 2014 at 7:36 PM

It’s a fact that whole medias love the scandals… but how they overreacting in this case? If this was the first pardew’s stupidity by the touchline you can speak about “overreacting”… but since this is his third it’s insane to speak about “overreacting”… and this third time is for a year and a half.

Or you say they are overreacting because they still respond of pardew’s stupidity after all those mistakes.

  • 20 jesperfuglsang - captain of the lemon crew // Mar 10, 2014 at 7:36 PM

GT…yes and it is beginning to be a burden for me being spot on so often ;) lol

Politically correct clowns judging a politically incorrect embarrassment manager.

  • 22 GeordieTwo // Mar 10, 2014 at 7:40 PM

Am I the part of the cause of people deserting the blog does anyone think? If so I would stand down rather than spoiling it on here. I could even give up my Official Blog Hobbit position (sob). It was all meant in fun but several have said I’m not funny. Hmmm. Difficult and embarrassing. Nobody can suit everyone’s sense of humour.

  • 23 Big Pappa Cissé // Mar 10, 2014 at 7:40 PM

How about players from teams facing the threat of relegation :

    Bolasie
    Caulker
    Noone
    Borini
    Giacherrini
    Mitroglu
    Sidwell
    Fer
    Redmond
    Williams
    Dyer
    Much
    Bony
    Michu

those are just off the top of my head and with so many outgoings at the end of the season a few of those could be good squad players.

Anyone I have missed that is half decent ? .

  • 24 mag // Mar 10, 2014 at 7:44 PM

Hopefully Ashley sacks pardew after the FA, have finished with him.

  • 25 GeordieTwo // Mar 10, 2014 at 7:44 PM

How about Poyet if Sunderland get relegated Big Papa mate? Just joking. He isn’t half bad but he has a fairly terrible team to deal with there.

  • 26 jazzyp // Mar 10, 2014 at 7:46 PM

    Big papa
Caulker and Bony for me. Bony is looking a snip at 12 mill. The same fee being banded about for Welbeck

  • 27 GeordieTwo // Mar 10, 2014 at 7:46 PM

Unbelievable that B/Munich’s main man thought he could steal 18M in tax money. Must be completely bonkers.

  • 28 Belfast // Mar 10, 2014 at 7:49 PM

Sick of hearing about this now tbh

And yes Geordietwo, you’re the reason why they’ve all deserted the blog.

    You and Blackleyjuice.

  • 29 mag // Mar 10, 2014 at 7:49 PM

If Newcastle have 12 million to spend on a striker then sign Remy.

  • 30 jesperfuglsang - captain of the lemon crew // Mar 10, 2014 at 7:52 PM

Belfast…we can put it all behind us tomorrow hopefully!

GT…I blame Ibiza and his fixation with manly mipples

  • 31 GeordieTwo // Mar 10, 2014 at 7:53 PM

That’s cruel Belfast mate. Harrumph. Still, I forgive you. Of course your pulling on my lariat aren’t you?

  • 32 BeeGuy // Mar 10, 2014 at 7:53 PM

So when Mylor grabs AP & throws him to one side, AP needs to put on his Gandhi/MLKing and Jesus personality in hte middle of the battle. Not an easy thing to do. when a burgler breaks into a home, and you wake up, you have no idea if you will fight or take flight. Same thing here.
I’m surprised the LMA does not enter a friend of AP opinion on behalf of all managers who from now on will be in harms way when some clogger staggers into their technical area.
Don’t forget Mylor was drewn back for an overhand haymaker unitl Goufron got in the way. IMHO, he should be on the hook, especially afrter his corner flag head but.

  • 33 GeordieTwo // Mar 10, 2014 at 7:54 PM

I wasn’t going to bring that up but yes I blame it all on Ibiza as well. Curse his mipple fetish! Where is that lad anyway?

  • 34 mag // Mar 10, 2014 at 7:56 PM

It’s that tskunki to blame his comments are ridiculous.

  • 35 GeordieTwo // Mar 10, 2014 at 7:58 PM

Did you see that Tsunki mate? You’re being slagged on here again. Harrumph.

  • 36 Belfast // Mar 10, 2014 at 7:58 PM

Aye mag that skunki is a knobba

  • 37 GeordieTwo // Mar 10, 2014 at 7:59 PM

BeeGuy Meylor actually wanted a dance with Pards and was cruelly rejected. He’s still feeling hurt. And now he knows about the man love thing between Pardew and Mourinho. It’s all too much for him.

  • 38 mag // Mar 10, 2014 at 8:00 PM

    With a capital K,

  • 39 Belfast // Mar 10, 2014 at 8:01 PM

…the umpa lumpa’s have put him back to work!

  • 41 GeordieTwo // Mar 10, 2014 at 8:05 PM

That’s not true Belfast. As Official Blog Hobbit I deny all contact with Blackley juice. He crashed my last birthday party but I had him evicted immediately.

  • 42 GeordieTwo // Mar 10, 2014 at 8:06 PM

Why is he not on here then jesper mate? He has a lot to answer for! Harrumph.

  • 43 jesperfuglsang - captain of the lemon crew // Mar 10, 2014 at 8:08 PM

GT…hence the umpa lumpa remark ;) he is working and rightly so after those three months parting with the golden ladies of Palms Spring!

  • 44 GeordieTwo // Mar 10, 2014 at 8:09 PM

Budgie smuggling, dealing in contraband chest hair, mipple fetish. It’s getting to be too much jesper.

  • 45 jesperfuglsang - captain of the lemon crew // Mar 10, 2014 at 8:10 PM

GT…plus he is consorting with umpa lumpa’s now as well!

Have to get back to work mates. A Hobbit’s work is never done!

  • 47 Belfast // Mar 10, 2014 at 8:11 PM

He’s never been to Ibiza in his life Jesper.

He probably lives somewhere really boring, like scunthorpe.

    See you later GT

  • 49 Big Pappa Cissé // Mar 10, 2014 at 8:12 PM

    @ Jazzy

Yeah Bony is looking like a decent Prem player and his physique has helped him adjust to the PL . Him & Remy up front would be deadly IMO .

  • 50 Sazzer // Mar 10, 2014 at 8:24 PM

I hope we sign Hunt for free in summer. He would be great as Cabaye replacement and give us extra money to go for quality strikers.

  • 51 beermonkey // Mar 10, 2014 at 8:30 PM

don’t know much about hunt but looks tidy for a free
do we actually stand a chance who else will go in for him

  • 52 jazzyp // Mar 10, 2014 at 8:41 PM

Hunt-Ince-Gomis-Lescott all free I know, But would you class this as a good window if we brought all these players in for nothing rather than sign no one again

  • 53 beermonkey // Mar 10, 2014 at 9:17 PM

    jazzyp
don’t want lescott he must be dire if he don’t get a game infront of that demachalis

we couldn’t afford his wages and at 31 I don’t see the point in signing him would rather bring good into the squad sell taylor and buy a 3rd choice cb

  • 54 jazzyp // Mar 10, 2014 at 9:23 PM

    Beermonkey
Agree on Demachalis mate, He is pants and how he gets in the Man city squad is beyond me

  • 55 beermonkey // Mar 10, 2014 at 9:44 PM

pellagrini is as stubborn as pards is with taylor

the problem we have is with the quality free’s is we have no md and or dof and I don’t think pards has the authority to sign players on his own
if we don’t start making moves with some of these players soon we will be to late as usual also we need all our shopping done before pre season

  • 56 Blackley and Brownlie // Mar 10, 2014 at 9:48 PM

    Ed

If the press are saying that I should be hanged, they are over-reacting, a little bit if I’m honest.

It was one of them scenarios that I told myself I should avoid, for sure. I did say I would learn from the pushing the match official scenario, but it hasn’t happened if I’m honest. I’ve got to hold my hands up to that 100%.

I’ve heard some fans say I should go to court and I can understand their reaction on that, a little bit. If they’d done that, they’d be banned for three years.

But footballers are different and I put myself in that category with footballers, if I’m honest. Same with stonesy, carvs, big woody, and willie, we all do.

Fans shout at me to take my hands out of my pockets and throw away my notebook but I know if I do that they’ll then say I should be fined for littering, 100%. Sometimes it’s a no win scenario, a catch 22 if you like.

I hear people say they’ve never seen a manager push a match official or nut a player. But I’ll continue to do that at this football club because its a passionate club and these fans, the majority, like to see passion. And I’ll give them that for sure, yeah definite, a little bit.

  • 57 Sazzer // Mar 10, 2014 at 9:50 PM

We have chance on Hunt not sure how big it is but if it comes down to us and Stoke I think we will win it.

  • 58 Sazzer // Mar 10, 2014 at 10:05 PM

    jazzyp
If could loan 2 players like Remy and De Jong again and signed those four on free. It would be good window.

Basically I’m saying if we signed 2 quality strikers and a quality Attacking midfielder I would say we had a good window.

If we signed 5 quality players I would say it was great one and anything more than that would be fantastic.

I would stay away from Lescott though and only go for Gomis if we sold Cisse.

  • 59 beermonkey // Mar 10, 2014 at 10:07 PM

so if we lose him to stoke its dire times for the toon

I hope were actually in for him every1 seems to say he is good enough german league players seem to settle ok into the prem so he seems to tick all the right boxes

    so here’s hoping

I don’t care if the players that come in are free or we pay as long as there good enough and move us in the right direction (up to 7th we don’t need Europe lol)

  • 60 beermonkey // Mar 10, 2014 at 10:12 PM

I don’t think we will make to many move in the market till the likes of marveax obatan and Jonas are off the wage budget

  • 61 Sazzer // Mar 10, 2014 at 10:17 PM

    Big Pappa Cissé
Not sure Swansea will go down. But I would take Michu if they did.

  • 62 Sazzer // Mar 10, 2014 at 10:39 PM

I think we already have room to make start making moves early.

Remy, De Jong and Cabaye are or will be off the books.

  • 63 Sazzer // Mar 10, 2014 at 10:45 PM

But it all depends on how much time the new DOF football needs to settle in.

  • 64 jimmysmith // Mar 10, 2014 at 10:46 PM

If we did bag the seemingly excellent Aaron Hunt, the Mackems will almost certainly have their disgraceful way with it all. “Aaaarun Unt……..Aaaaarun Unt………..he’s a right old f@cken German cnutttttt” or something equally charmless doubtless would be bandied appallingly around that hovel of their’s on derby day.

Boy, if there’s one thing I truly despise, its social and cultural intolerance…………that and a filthy Mackem of course.

  • 65 beermonkey // Mar 10, 2014 at 10:48 PM

    sazzer

there is loads of room for us to make early moves
    but we wont
the reason being ash wont want marveax Jonas obatan still on the books when there replaced they will have to leave before the new boys come in so we wont have to pay the wages
also u can ad shola and goslings wages as they will be going as well

so a lot of room but we wont

  • 66 beermonkey // Mar 10, 2014 at 10:53 PM

with any luck jimmy we wont be seeing them for a while
I know they got some games in hand but they still have
    Liverpool
    spurs
    everton
    Chelsea
    man u

to play so they got a tough run in lol
a couple more losses and the nerves will set in

  • 67 Sazzer // Mar 10, 2014 at 11:05 PM

We don’t need to worry about when they get relegated.
