Newcastle Beaten 1-0 By Bottom Of The League Fulham

In what was a terrible result for Newcastle and a mediocre performance, Newcastle went down 1-0 to a poor goal to concede from Substitute Dejagah who t a good shot from the left but Tim Krul must be wondering how that shot got past him.

Soccer - Barclays Premier League - Fulham v Newcastle United - Craven Cottage

Papiss Cisse in action this afternoon

But that was enough to give Fulham only their 7th win this season, and Newcastle again came back with nothing from Craven Cottage and we were wondering who would score the goals without Loic Remy in the side, and the answer was nobody although Papiss Cisse had two shots brilliantly saved by goalkeeper David Stockdale, one in each half, and David is keeping Dutch International Maarten Stekelenburg out of the side.

One good point in this game was that Adam Armstrong made his first team debut today, coming on as a sub for Luuk d Jong after 86 minutes.

But after the Newcastle manager was banned for seven games, and we sustained injuries to both Mathieu Debuchy and Loic Remy last week in the France game against Holland, this result will do absolutely nothing to raise the frustrations of fans on Tyneside.

And it will bring up the point about how many points will Alan Pardew’s suspension cost Newcastle in these seven games?

Let us know who you think Newcastle’s best player was today.

We’ll have a report out a little bit later – and of course this is not a good result for Sunderland, who could only draw 0-0 at home to Crystal Palace today, and are now only one point above Fulham, but with three games in hand.

Do we need another CF who CANNOT score? Don’t we have a whole stable of those? Sorry, when loan is over send him home.
MOM? Can we really talk about that? Anyway, Sissoko again.
Conclusion: We played about at the level of the bottom club. Southampton play better football than we do. They desreve to finish above us.So, there goes our mini two team league as well.
    I predicted this loss, sadly.

I satnd by my prediction overall. Another 9-12 points.

Don’t sign De Jong, he’s another Lovenkrands, if this is him playing for a move what’s he like when he isn’t trying? NUFC, haven’t scored a Premier league goal when Remy isn’t playing, sack Pardew!

The NUFC staff need to take full advantage of this
Make a 15 minute trip in to Clapham, put a bike chain and padlock around both Cisse and Strolla, turn around for 30 odd seconds and they will be gone!
    Problem solved

When Webb is the ref we get … nothing.
When you throw in… Shola to get a goal well, you ain’t going to get a goal.
When HBA doesn’t play in this kind of game, when will he play?
When you have 3 shots on goal, don’t expect much in terms of goals.

@toon1707: You forgot his favourite trick: getting the ball in a promising position and then immediately running it wide.

Debuchy I think will leave especially if he has a good world cup. Remy will be gone. De Jong is a good holding striker but has absolutely no goal threat.

If we don’t have a very good and very expensive transfer window we are screwed. We are weak in defense and have nothing to threaten goal. We dont even have goal scoring midfielders. Well we have Ben Arfa but he will be on his way out of yhe club too!

Having to rely on Shola, is a complete embarrassment due to Pardew, the moron. We have had glimpse of life after Remy, no goal threat at all.

how come everton comeback so easily and go on to score even in the last min while the image of we winning a goal down is totally being erased from the history books……europe dream is over….and sad news is that neither GRENIER OR CABELLA OR ANY OTHER GOOD PLAYER WONT SIGN FOR US NEXT SEASON…..its going to be like living in hell…horrid….

I was going to say ‘unfortunately’ I couldn’t see or even hear the game today, but after catching up on the blog commentary it sounds like you all could have done without it as well! Not good at all by the sounds of it.

Our proven goalscoring hope for today (Gouffran) STILL left on the wing and we didn’t even pass to him in the first 20 minutes. Not convinced yet by LDJ as he hasn’t managed to strike the ball cleanly once since he joined us…… but utterly stunned and speechless how strolla still even gets a game…..
Great to see Armstrong come on and at least he managed to get a shot away.
Finally…. we NEVER get anything from that tw@t Howard Webb! Made me groan when I saw him come onto the pitch. Utter tosspot!

Ed, can we have a selection that says “None of the above”?
Why would you want to pick the best out of that dross? Not one of them deserved the recognition.

What a horrible lack of direction & performance all round.

I think de Jong is ok but he lacks any power at all in his shots everyone not just today trickles up to the goal unfortunately unless something dramatic happens in next few games can’t see him staying beyond his loan he is just not good enough

Well that was a complete disaster!! I know it was an away game and any away game in the Premiership is not going to be easy but that performance was spineless. We never look threatening from our set plays or especially corners. I do not know what will happen when we loose Remy back from his loan. Cisse and De Jong look lost.

Dummet was not good at all. Anita kept losing the ball. All 3 strikers who played were poor. Colo and Mousa looked a beast of a player and Willo and Yanga M’biwa didn’t do too bad. But I don’t know why Carver was twiddling his thumbs around the hour mark when were getting dominated, Hatem had to come on for one of the strikers. His career is clearly over with us.

Reallly, really annoyed at that defeat because I wanted to beat Fulham and send them down, as they did to us in 2008/09.
However, this isn’t about Fulham, we were poor today and no one will make me believe that Pardew not being there will have that much of a difference, our quality of player should be able to beat Fulham. Put aside any disagreements or contract stuff until the end of the season and play Remy and HBA, at least they give us an attacking threat.
Full credit as always to our fantastic supporters who made the trip down there for nothing, you as do the rest of us deserve so much more.
