Newcastle Unchanged Against Crystal Palace

nufc emblemCrystal Palace .svg

Alan Pardew has named an unchanged side for this afternoon’s game against Crystal Palace.

It’s on the subs bench that changes have been made, with Rob Elliot back as the substitute goalkeeper and Ben Arfa also makes it on the bench, and it’s his first appearance since the Tottenham disaster.

But 17 year-old Adam Armstrong is dropped from the 18 man squad, and that’s a real pity because Adam is the future at Newcastle and we’d have liked to have seen him make his home debut today.

Newcastle are playing a side that is 4th bottom of the Premier League at the moment, but has a solid defense since Tony Pulis took over as manager, but still find it hard to score goals.

We really need the win this afternoon.

Howay The Lads!!

Teams:

Newcastle (4-4-2): Tim Krul; Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, Mike Williamson, Fabricio Coloccini (c), Paul Dummett; Moussa Sissoko, Cheick Tiote, Vurnon Anita, Yoan Gouffran; Luuk de Jong, Papiss Cisse
Substitutes: Rob Elliot, Massadio Haidara, Steven Taylor, Dan Gosling, Sylvain Marveaux, Hatem Ben Arfa, Shola Ameobi

Crystal Palace – tba

Referee: Lee Probert (Wiltshire)

Keeping the same formula that didn’t work last there, there is some experimental ambition for you.

No Armstrong, another phantom injury in the camp I presume?

    Zzzzz.

Pardew said: “It is a major point for us because Loic Remy is not our player and he has scored most of our goals and we are struggling to score goals without him, especially since Yohan Cabaye left as well.

“It really is a process where we are looking for somebody to step up and get the goals.”

Cisse has been out of form going on 2 years, LDJ same… and we have a firecracker in Armstrong coming through the ranks! what is the logical option here? Play Cisse and LDJ!

Pathetic team selection – no wonder they don’t feel they need to put any effort on if Pards picks em regardless of form

Our two most creative players in HBA & Marv benched again today and Gouffran still playing on the wing FFS.

How are we meant to create goals with Tiote & Anita in the middle of the park ? , especially when Palace will sit back and let us try to break them down .

This has a narrow 1-0 win, 0-0 draw or a 0-1 loss written all over it.

    Palace are:

Speroni, Mariappa, Dann, Delaney, Ward, Dikgacoi, Jedinak, Bolasie, Ledley, Puncheon, Jerome.

There is something wrong if that team beats us at home.

I just hope we do not aim high balls into their box, Pulis will have them expertly trained at sniffing that type of game out.

Regardess if our ‘premier league’ players do jack sh!t all season – Pards needs to go – not sure why we don’t get Louis van Gaal and give him a 60 million pot ( 30 from TV money, 20 Cabaye cash and 10 mill profit )

He might want a bit more than 5 quid a week tho so even in the highly unlikely scenario of Fatty spending some of the cash on players he won’t pay for a decent manager

Lol no worries, looking at the FA website the games Wednesday so not sure if he’s at a training camp or travelling?

    BPC
The club have said HBA wouldn’t be starting as there’s big question marks over his fitness so no real surprise, but agree no harm in giving Marv a start, not a big fan but surely give him some minutes to either try and show he has a future or drive his transfer fee up a bit

That palace team would look average in the fizzy pop never mind the prem
Big question marks over the manager the coaches and players alike if we can’t get a result against this mob
Watching them vs the scum they parked the bus so expect plenty of Tiote 40 yard row z specials, LDJ tame pops that might make the 6 yard box
Only benefit is Cisse might be able to stay onside if they park the bus, not holding my breath though!

B&B – he never will be if he doesn’t get a game, how on earth is he meant to show how he copes if he gets 2 mins game time

Pards bangs on how he gives youngsters a chance but the only time they get a game is when there is no other option and they are dropped instantly as soon as the first team player is fit again regardless of how well they did

If you want Cisse to score Marveaux should be playing as they have a good understanding of eachother because Marv can see the pass early so Cisse’s runs won’t be off side.

I would still rather play HBA at 70% than Shola or Cisse with no support as when not scoring he looks like a spare part.

Have to laugh at some of the people on here billing Armstrong as our Saviour. Going crazy cus he isn’t in the squad. An unproven 17 year old who 6 months ago nobody even knew about. So what if he’s doing good for the reserves, plenty of rising stars in the past have done good for the reserves and now there nowhere to be seen.

Aye Tads and I guess Wenger’s 1000th game effectively rules them out of the prem title for this season. I’d also guess Remy will be a good signing for them. Prem between Chelsea and Man City now (?) with an outside chance of Liverpool.

I agree but that doesn’t necessarily make him a premier league player. The only way he’ll become one is if he gets playing time, here or somewhere else.

Cisse -NOT to score. Toon will be hoping though that he can turn things around – even a little -not for his future at the club -but that he may attract a better price in the summer -think however they will make a loss on him.

Surely we must win this game – I suggested a 3-1 win at Fulham -a mile out. These two teams cannot score goals. In view of the fact that Remy and Debuchy are off sorting out their escapes for the summer -and really have done their jobs this season I have to go for a 2-1 win to Palace.
