65% of our readers thought we’d be beaten today at Southampton and we were by a score of 4-0 – and but for Rob Elliot in the Newcastle goal, and some poor finishing from Southampton it could have been a worse – a lot worse.

We expect Alan Pardew to have read the riot act after this game to the players – and we suppose the saving grace is that’s it’s only one game, but we expect the manager and the players to apologize to those faithful Newcastle fans who made the long and hard trip down to St. Mary’s to see this rubbish.
