Alan Pardew was interviewed by Sky Sports after the game today and Alan said the obvious – that scoring goals is difficult for us at the moment, and we’ve scored just one goals since we hammered Hull City 4-1 – and of course Loic Remy has been out injured, and Luuk de Jong and Papiss Cisse just cannot seem to get the job done for Newcastle.
Loic Remy – Newcastle missing this striker big time
This is what Alan Pardew told Sky Sports.
“It was difficult because we were coming off the back of a couple of bad defeats.” “The first goal was important today and their tails went up once they got it.”
“We made a mistake for the second goal and then we were really chasing it and we had a problem.” “It is a problem for us, scoring goals. We’ve had a couple of big chances today and I think we just need a goal to give us a lift.”
“United were good, you have to say, they settled down and played well.” “We are getting tagged with having a poor season, but we have had a great season until we lost Loic to his last injury.”
“It would be nice to get him back and I think he is close for Stoke.” “We are lacking a bit of positivity on the pitch, and we need to try and get that in training this week.”
Loic Remy is not certain to be back at Stoke City either next Saturday, and it’s clear we are not the same team with Loic Remy not in the side scoring goals.
That should be a big concern to Newcastle – since we will definitely not have Loic with us next season – so it seems to us we need to bring in four good strikers in the summer – a whole new strike force.
Shola is leaving, Luuk de Jong is not good enough, and Newcastle would probably take £10M and let Papiss Cisse move on in the summer too.
