Who Was Newcastle’s Best Player In 4-0 Trashing By Red Devils

5:05 pm, Saturday, April 5th, 2014 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 64 Comments

nufc emblemmanchester-united-fc.png

For the second week in a row Newcastle have lost 4-0 – this time to Manchester United, who were a patched up side and had made eight changes from the side that drew 1-1 with Bayern Munich in mid-week.

And Newcastle had done quite well in the first half until Juan Mata hit home a free kick after 39 minutes and then hit another after 50 minutes after late in the first half Hernendez had hit the posy when he should have scored.

Further goals from Javier Hernandez after 64 minutes and then one in stoppage time made it 4-0 and his is another disastrous result for Newcastle and that’s the 10th time in the last 15 league games we haven’t scored and we’ve lost 10 of them.

We have also scored just one goal in the 10 games that Loic Remy has missed this season, and let’s hope he’s back for next week at Stoke because we have no strength in depth at all.

This is also the fourth loss in the five games that Alan Pardew has had his ban, and we’ve managed only one goal in those games, and it will be interesting to hear what the manager has to say about this display – since the lads worked all week on keeping the defense tight.

WE seem to be a million miles away from having a good team.

g0 fluff your self you muppet

    he has lost the players

lost 80% if not more of the fans

the chronicle are now against him

you always come on here like pardew and blame something about this game, you dont sit back and look at the bigger picture , that one where if you look at the football as a whole over the last 3 years is the worst we have played under any manager in the last 20 years, also breaking all th wrong records that any manager would not wnt

    get a lfe

go and watch hockey or something

Like I said. I agree that the depth (if I understood you correctly and if that is what you were referring to) is a bit problem.
But our 2014 form is not because of lack in depth. This is too much. We are playing like this because the team doesn’t know how to deal with the opposition. We get a goal and we don’t know how to score another one. We are one down and we have no idea how to get back.
Players playing out of their position. Players like Shola are playing. Players that are good and create chances are not playing.

There is also a difference between losing and losing so many by 3 and 4 goals.
Players who have heart and motivation can win or at least play decent football.
Pardew doesn’t inspire them. He is not controlling the situation. They hear him you know, talking after games, not taking responsibility. He is not a leader.

I agree that the most of the blame is on Ashley for not bringing more players. Still, Pardew has a lot of his own mistakes that he is not blaming himself for.

If he doesn’t get what he needs, he should resign. That is what people with principles will do.

  • 6 jesperfuglsang - captain of the lemon crew // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:10 PM

    Evening lads!

Has Pardew come out and blamed Benny yet?

  • 7 Thump // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:10 PM

@Toon Tang: Oh how I wish that was an option.

  • 8 Oleg G // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:11 PM

Here is an updated table of the second half of the season.

    Everyone should see this.

After today we are 16th with 13 points with only Swansea, Sunderland, Fullham and Cardiff above us.

    16th – 13 points
    17th – 12 points
    18th – 11 points
    19th – 11 points
    20th – 8 points.

  • 9 Ketsbaia9 // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:11 PM

As soon as Pardew decided to start Gosling, I knew that weren’t going to score today. Gosling was pathetic.

The only players (playing today) that should be in the squad for next season’s matches are:

    Ben Arfa

The rest can all leave. Not good enough.

  • 10 manxpie // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:11 PM

shocking again and that goes for the squad aswell

    collo shocking for the 2nd
    arfa shockin for the 4th

we need 6-7 players without any sales ffs
and players who know wat this club is about!

everyone blaming pardew for this are ALL!! aiming there hatred at the wrong guy!

  • 11 Ketsbaia9 // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:11 PM

Maybe keep Coloccini as well. Willamson was slow as hell today and cost us a couple of goals.

  • 12 Toon Tang // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:12 PM

thump hahaha ed should start throwing mad options in there when we perform like that

  • 13 catchy in norway // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:12 PM

    at the othe end

shola was our worst player, even if he hardly touch the ball, simply not good enough

but honestly, i do not see why goofy is getting a game at all at the minute,

turning into a very poor player, and that is being kind on him

  • 14 Ketsbaia9 // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:13 PM

Ben Arfa did well in terms of beating players. His final product was poor. At least he took players on with confidence though. Can see him and Debuchy going to Bayern Munich in the summer.

  • 15 Average_Contents // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:13 PM

What’s this I hear? Somebody making excuses for pardspew? As the newly appointed bullshitter stopper I now ban toonking from the blog indefinitely!

Is fatty even arsed? No Fcuking chance!

  • 16 BuckLuck // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:13 PM

Absolutely pathetic again and again and again…

Pardew should hear his name being sung in the same sentence as “get the h3ll out of our club…” every minute of every match he’s in charge. He deserves nothing less.

Ashley also deserves his share, but I’m so fed up with the football(or lack of football) Pardew produces. He is my main enemy until he’s gone. Leave!

  • 17 geordie157 // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:13 PM

    Colo was shocking yet again.

    next game

    Santon, Wilo, Mbiwa, Haidara
    Ben Arfa, Gosling, Tiote, Sammy/Aarons
    Armstrong, Gouffran

  • 18 toonbrother // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:14 PM

im sure its just a coincidence we’ve conceded ELEVEN GOALS in 3 games with nonchalant Colocinni in the starting line up. Just a strange coincidence nothing more

  • 19 Average_Contents // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:14 PM

Benny for the 4th? Get real you clown

  • 20 anthc // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:15 PM

Best player? Surely your having a giraffe the whole lot were absolute garbage. My son was asleep after 55mins and surrounding supporters watching the grand national on their phones. Pardew you dick jog on and show us some respect. the players should take a leaf out of norwichs players book I think it was and reimburse the fans their ticket money. I think my ticket renewal will be going in the bin 550 quid for that, I dont think so!

  • 21 welshgeordie9 // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:16 PM

Stand up if you love pardew

  • 22 banjax // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:16 PM

As I forecast earlier – another hammering. Humiliating defeat. What does it take to get Pardew sacked ?

  • 23 manxpie // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:17 PM

average well have a look fella before calling me a clown!!

he lets the player just run straight past him and guess who scores!!??

so take ya benny specks off “you clown”!!

  • 24 Average_Contents // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:17 PM

Also manxpie is banned indefinitely 😉

  • 25 toonbrother // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:17 PM

I said it a long time ago : As long as Colocinni is in the starting line up we will get thrashed by every half decent team we face.
Its a shame I can see this and so many -including the dunce Pardumb cannot

  • 26 welshgeordie9 // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:17 PM

It was only 2 years ago he’s was manager of the year

    How times have changed

  • 27 ilovetoon8788 // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:17 PM

What’s the score the next match? 3-0 or 4-0? I don’t even know who we’re playing but I’m very confident we’ll be shipping in 3 or 4.

  • 28 toonking // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:18 PM

but who is their on that bench who is good?

marvo was always a sub at best prior to his arrival

HBA had loads of problems with his previous clubs before he came to us.

    obatan need i say more

gosling well when has anyone said he is decent

shola again need i say more

dejong at his owner club which is a club in the bottom half of the table he was always on the bench.

had these been results that occured during the season we finished 5th then i would have been really angered but these results have only started to come regularly since january and that was when the transfer wiindow caused total mayhem.

i know pardew can change things because back at the start of the season we were having an awful first half against everton and went 3-0 down at half time but then pardew make the changes to that team and from that moment all the way until january we were having an excellent time, then the bomb goes off and we sell on of the trio of vital players our team has which cause things to crumble and to make things worse we see the other two injured.

  • 29 welshgeordie9 // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:18 PM

Oh I see the clown is on it must be match day

    Ha ha ha

  • 30 Ketsbaia9 // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:18 PM

Taking into consideration next season, the players who are good enough are:

    Tim Krul

    Ben Arfa

On this basis, we need 2 centre backs, 1 left back, 1 left winger, 2 attacking midfielders and 3 strikers. That’s 9 players that we need to sign.

  • 31 LGFUAD21 // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:18 PM

Ok I’m officially a convert. I could handle loosing to Everton, Southampton and even this poor Man U side but the margins are unforgivable. Pardew won’t even changed his formula. We have nothing left to play for the least he could do it experiment. Why not try playing HBA off Shola. Shola can’t score but he can support? Why not see how marveaux can play playmaker. Or even try gouff up top.

Our squad even depleted should not be getting hammered this badly. Sack pardew bring in a real coach. We dknt need a manager to manage ayers. We need a coach to bring tactics.

Malky Mackay is free that’s the type of manager we can attract. Keep hold of and has shown all the potential to be capable of building a team.

Get rid of the crusty old men running out academy’s and bring in foreign coaches to develop players attributes and technicality rather than teach the typical English thing of can you run for 90 minutes. Maybe then we wouldn’t be so screwed when we don’t sign players if we could develop our own.

Can anybody name a proper talent we have brough through our Academy at the heart of an area of the country supposedly so passionate about football

  • 32 francesco-hba // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:19 PM

    manxpie // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:10 PM

shocking again and that goes for the squad aswell

    collo shocking for the 2nd
    arfa shockin for the 4th

—–>>> What? Arfa shockin for the 4th??

hahahaha!! are u serious? Is Ben arfa responsible of Januzaj or is it Santon?? Are u becoming like Pardew to blame Ben arfa again and again

  • 33 Average_Contents // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:20 PM

Not Santon too then? Or the shoddy defending from All? I’m sure benny came on as an attacker? Replaced LDJ who was playing upfront was he not! Fcukoff you pardspew loving halfwit and take your beloved puppet with you! Knobend!

  • 34 Ketsbaia9 // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:22 PM

I would’ve been disappointed if Marveaux was only on the bench today let alone not even in the squad. Pardew must be on drugs.

  • 35 aidytoon9 // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:23 PM

Oh my word, when will this manager be sacked?
Anyone know the official attendance today?
    Ashley please sell our club.

  • 36 geordie157 // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:24 PM

I’m a Colo fan, but its time he was sold.

If Ashley had any balls he’d be sack Pardew. He can even bring in someone like Laudrup or Di Matteo if it means saving a bit of cash on compensation.

  • 37 toonking // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:26 PM

i have came up with a new name for all these pardew bashers.
ASHLEY LOVERS because really if they thinking we are pardew lover because of all the blame we give ashley then why should we not call them ashley lovers? It does seem as though they have praise for ashley and his way of building a team which is why they blame pardew.

  • 38 manxpie // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:27 PM

average n franc obviously santon should be in to 2 places at the same time then instead of arfa tracking a man that was a yard away who took the ball then passed it and got the return and scored but hey aslong as he’s an attacker its ok and he obviously can’t see the danger because he’s an attacker!!

have a look again ffs he lets the player run from behind passed him as he just stands there!!

  • 39 Average_Contents // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:27 PM

It’s priks like TDS and manxpie that defend our shitty shambolic poor excuse for management and turn up every week expecting different from the weeks or months before when clearly we need to make a stand

But I know let’s blame a player who was on the pitch for half an hour and made more attacking runs than our whole team combined over the 90!

    Fcuking deluded!

  • 40 thepict // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:28 PM

Obviously the ones who have voted for Ben Afra weren’t there. Not the least bit interested. Sooner he is sold th better.

  • 41 NUFCarter // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:29 PM

    Next game:
    Santon, Willo, Mbabu, Haidara
    Marveaux, Bigirimana, Tiote, Sammy Ameobi

Aarons, Gouffran, Alnwick, Streete, Satka, Quinn, Anita

  • 42 daztoon // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:29 PM

    shut up you brainfart

  • 43 BuckLuck // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:30 PM

Like many others I’m done with Colo as well. He is not the future, and with his current form should not be playing.

Just for fun. Are there Pardew fans left out there? I promise to respect you as a person, but your football knowledge however…

  • 44 89Norcal // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:30 PM

It’s nice to see that in the midst of all this exhaustion, tribulation, and frustration, we can still find the energy to try and cut each other’s heads off.

  • 45 Average_Contents // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:31 PM

Oh and toonking I ain’t just a pardspew basher! I hate everything about this current regime I know puppet has players sold from underneath him but come on man ffs! He is absolutely clueless

  • 46 manxpie // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:31 PM

toonking well i don’t know about that but wat really amazes me is they think a better manager will come in!

i mean we could have gone for solksjier who’s on wat a few million a year!!

never managed in a top league and it bloody shows 🙂

but seriously who will be next for the job on 500,000 grand a year and them knowing we’ll never have a full squad and at every oppertunity the best ones sold off without replacing?

  • 47 LeedsMag // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:33 PM

Think its barking up the wrong tree to blame individual players. We have actually been quite poor all season, illuminated with only a few decent performances and some big games from important players eg Cabaye and Remy.
The shambolic management and coaching has finally got through to a bunch of players who can see there is no future in the way this club is going,They are playing without confidence or belief.
We have seen good players become apparently bad players under AP – poor selection policy, players out of position, poor tactics and endless supplies of bullshit.
Most of them know that they wont be here next season and probably dont want to be
Unless AP shows some self pride and resigns, expect a relegation battle next season

  • 48 Average_Contents // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:33 PM

Not 1 ounce of tactical awareness about the fool, he needs to go and so does

    Had enuff of this shit

  • 49 Average_Contents // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:35 PM

I’m not saying we’d attract a good manager but at the moment no manager is better than puppet

  • 50 manxpie // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:35 PM

average wats wrong with pointing out wat was bad play by the team i support ffs!!

and that includes players that don’t do there very very well payed jobs!

but its ok for you to slate 1 guy for the lot!!?

    i ain’t the prick lad!!

  • 51 toonking // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:35 PM

well maybe then you should start to think about that before call people like manxpie pardew lovers because all we saying is under this current regime we never going to getg football like city or liverpool and will never get quality managers.

ruddy use to bash pardew but even he knows that this state of the club means that the manager will never make any differance at all.

watch england because they appointed SBR and cappello two great manager but still could not win a world cup or european title.
why, because they don’t have the players to doso.

  • 52 tommiH // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:37 PM

MAYDAY MAYDAY. we are sinking. i repeat! we ar sinking

  • 53 toonarmydownsouth // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:38 PM

    You having a laugh Ed?

Another sh1te performance infront of the Geordie faithful

In all fairness we should of put the game to bed before they opened the scoring but once more paid the price for penny pinching and not getting a couple of prolific goalscorers, Cisse had chance after chance, a couple forced good saves but the majority wide of the target
LDJ offered nothing in terms of goal threat, HBA can’t shoot on target to save his life and Gouffran is anonymous on the wings

As for the back line Jesus wept, never seen such lethargic sluggish defending they passed around our back four like they were those yellow training dummies!

Tiote is the only one showing any form of determination, but looks like he’s struggling to keep it going

3 games 11 goals conceded not a sniff at goal from us
I said before the game, in spite of Pardews tactics and set up, or Carvers dinosaur team talks, if the players couldn’t get fired up for this fixture there are some serious deep rooted issues

In other words lads……. Were fcuked

  • 54 Average_Contents // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:38 PM

Sorry for the name calling by the way there was no need.

Won’t ever apologize for what I perceive as being what’s wrong with this club though

  • 55 manxpie // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:39 PM

and average wat about my point about benny?

or have you actually seen the goal now?

was it not right to point him and collo out for 2 shocking goals?

  • 56 Average_Contents // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:42 PM

I understand it’s not just pardspew who is the problem it’s fatty! As I’ve stated before, fatty is the cancer and puppet is a tumour but to defend him is a disgrace regardless of egats happened with players being sold

  • 57 daztoon // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:43 PM

    are you for real?.

Was more to do with Maradona`s handball and pen shoot out that cost England under sir Bobby not the players

  • 58 francesco-hba // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:48 PM

for the 2nd that’s clearly Colo’s fault, but for the 4th, that’s not really an indivual responsibility, but if you really want to blame someone, that’s not Ben arfa ,even if he wasnt far from the action, His role is to attack and maybe to defend on Buttner, not to defend on Januzaj, if they were two on Santon, then that’s williamson or tioté’s fault

to conclude, the 2nd = Colo
the 4th = the defence but thats not individual

then, why didnt you blame Gosling for the 1st or Williamson for the 3rd? why? maybe because you hate Benny isnt it?

  • 59 toonking // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:48 PM

oh and like we have not had bad decisions been given this season.

if you can’t accept pardew blaming injuries and bad refereeing for this season then you can’t blame that hand of god goal for us failing and BTW missing penalty shootout means then they are bad coachs then just like pardew is a bad coach for causing our poor set piecess

  • 60 daztoon // Apr 5, 2014 at 5:59 PM

Give it a rest you clown.

You have no idea what your talking about.

You talk utter shite like i said it wasnt down to having bad players for England under Sir Bobby.

So that puts your theory to rest.

Try doing some research before you post your tripe

  • 61 lesh // Apr 5, 2014 at 6:11 PM

Can’t honhestly say that Pardew’s ban has anything to do with recent results.

By all accounts another poor performance and it’s clear that Pardew’s unable to either set the team up, albeit with depleted resources, or motivate them.

It must be time for him to go.

  • 62 lew // Apr 5, 2014 at 6:15 PM

Blaming this and that, I blame Pardew, and put all my hopes on new manager and 6-7-8 players in the summer. I also hope we sell with a sell-on-fee if we do sell the likes of Cisse, Arfa, Debuchy etc.

How is he not sacked yet this season?
