For the second week in a row Newcastle have lost 4-0 – this time to Manchester United, who were a patched up side and had made eight changes from the side that drew 1-1 with Bayern Munich in mid-week.
And Newcastle had done quite well in the first half until Juan Mata hit home a free kick after 39 minutes and then hit another after 50 minutes after late in the first half Hernendez had hit the posy when he should have scored.
Further goals from Javier Hernandez after 64 minutes and then one in stoppage time made it 4-0 and his is another disastrous result for Newcastle and that’s the 10th time in the last 15 league games we haven’t scored and we’ve lost 10 of them.
We have also scored just one goal in the 10 games that Loic Remy has missed this season, and let’s hope he’s back for next week at Stoke because we have no strength in depth at all.
This is also the fourth loss in the five games that Alan Pardew has had his ban, and we’ve managed only one goal in those games, and it will be interesting to hear what the manager has to say about this display – since the lads worked all week on keeping the defense tight.
WE seem to be a million miles away from having a good team.
We’ll have a report of the game out shortly – just in case you want to read it.
