Newcastle Better Than At Saints – But Still Not Good Enough

There wasn’t much that Alan Pardew could say after Newcastle were beaten 4-0 by Manchester United at home yesterday,  and in our last two home matches we have leaked seven goals, and to think the coaching staff worked on the Newcastle defense all last week. 🙁

juan mata scores secodn goal

Juan Mata – after scoring killer second goal early in second half

It was a decent enough first half performance but it was a touch of class from Juan Mata that put Manchester United ahead after 39 minutes direct from a  free-kick.

And when that goal went in we thought that could be it – because of our inability to score goals right now, with Loic Remy being missing.

And the second half was basically Manchester United opening up our defense three more times, and we ended up with a 4-0 defeat – again.

This is what Newcastle manager Alan Pardew told BBC Sport:

“It was a tough afternoon for us and we weren’t at our best,” “We are lacking a bit of quality at the moment and we are trying to get that on the pitch.”

“We had some good effort and commitment today, certainly better than Southampton, but I’m afraid it wasn’t good enough against a decent Manchester United.”

“We have got loads of players missing and it is really hurting us at the minute. We are desperate to get another three points, a win and a goal for the fans, but it is just not happening for us at the moment.”

It was better than at Southampton, but it was still simply not good enough, and with the players we have available at the moment we should be doing an awful lot better than  the results we are getting.

That’s really the bottom line.

And our defense has leaked 12 goals in the last five games, and we now have the 4th worst defense (goals against) in the Premier League, having conceded 51 goals in 33 games. 🙁

At least 6 new faces are needed in the summer. MA needs to loosen the purse strings to the tune of 50-60 million irrespective of player sales from the club. It’s good to dream!

Ha ha ha. I’m laughing so much. Pardew is a very sad man. I do think he has found a way of overcoming criticism by flying off to some other reality. The players are rich boys with no substance .. Ashley is another very sad person. i’m not sure what he thinks his life is for, he has an attachment to money, that’s clear, but what that means for him and what it’s all for, I’m not sure he knows himself. As I said, it’s all very sad.

    repost;

If we end up outside the top 10 target he surely must be sacked right!? Especially at the rate we’re going!

That statistic is shocking Ed, have we really conceded 51 goals already and Sunderland that are in a relegation battle a little less on 48!
    Says it all really.

Pardew and his dinosaurs OUT ASAP!!

As long as Pardew doesn’t threaten Ashley’s obsession with getting a return on his investment, a return however small, then there’s no way he’ll be sacked.

By the looks of things, he’s doing what he’s paid to do and that is not to cost Ashley money.

So, we’re stuck with the pair of ’em….

I say chaps. I think player X was shite. Player Y on the other hand… If we put player F on the wing, put player G in central midfield and put player M in the left back position, THEN we could put player J in the hole, ask player K to run on behind player O. Get player Z to put some crosses into the box for player T who knocks it on for player Y (who sneaks in behind player E) and bobs you’re uncle….

    Once again I say this

If Pardew can’t see the problem How will he fix the problem.

He saw commitment yesterday. How does he fault that.

But please don’t judge him on this. Not his fault we look like a Pub team.

Anyone of Newcastle United Fans think Alan Pardew is trying to get Shola Ameobi a new Contract?

There was no need to play him.

AP has lost the dressing room and can you blame them same players for just ticking over until the end of the season. AP and his coaching staff have totally drained all creative play out of our players. Lets be honest, we have some very good players, better on paper than, Southampton and Everton. Why have we just lost 3-0 and 4-0 to these teams? Both of their managers have their teams playing the game the way it should be played, on the deck passing game which creates numerous chances during games. AP is as out dated as JFK and as long as he stays at our club we will struggle to be anywhere near the top half of this league. Next season we will have no strikers, and do we all think MA is going to go out and spend big on 3 strikers, I don’t think so. Next season this team needs at least 7 players who will be 1st team starters or else we will struggle big time.
At least in season 2015/16 we will get the derby games back, in the Championship. Sad,sad, sad.

pardass is even not in trouble since previous season… so, i think the only though of ashley was like “damn, if i got mata in the squad, i could make so much money on him this summer”… we are safe this season, summer change nothing, plenty of players will go, we will find some cheap one or free agents plus maybe add 2-3 guys from academy and… they will be thinking on january, depends on situation in the table. staying in PL is too important for fatso wallet to let us go down.

I’ll be absolutely gutted if Pardew gets kept on and Ben-Arfa leaves.

Can’t believe people are still supporting Pardew, but good to see the majority aren’t any more. For those of you that are, can I have some of what you’re smoking?

I thought we were worse. Southampton are a far better side than the ManU we played yesterday. We need investment. We have needed investment for several summers.
This is a football club being run like a sports shirt sweatshop. Keep on cutting costs, cutting corners. Keep downsizing.

A team of Vietnamese imports. Pards gets an indian call center on the other end of his ‘carver line’. All staff are fired and coaching is done via a youtube tutorial. Kits are made from jersey royal sacks. Ground relocated to the Gaza strip etc etc etc
