Newcastle need to rebuild in the summer, and also allow players to leave who are not good enough for Newcastle, and we just hope that Newcastle can bring in some very good players this summer – because we need them.
Alan Pardew – squad and team not good enough
And from what Alan Pardew has said after the second successive 4-0 defeat – this time at home to Manchester United last Saturday – the manager has said that neither the team or the squad at the moment are good enough.
This is what the Pardew said yesterday:’
“This run has underlined that a lack of options, my players have put in an honest performance. But they have not been good enough either as a squad or as team.”
But the players that we still have available are much better than the results we have been getting, and that is down to Alan Pardew not getting the best out of the players he still has at his disposal.
Ben Arfa is one example, and while the responsibility is shared between manager and player, you cannot accuse Alan Pardew of getting the best out of Hatem Ben Arfa this season – and fundamentally that’s how managers are judged – are they getting the best out of their players?
This run of 10 defeats in 15 league games follows on from last season’s terrible run of 10 defeats in 13 league games.
And these bad runs are happening too much, which is why there is some discontent among fans at the moment with the Newcastle manager.

It is the way EVERYONE has just given up. I dont put everyrhing onto the players, or pardew, or even ashley. Its the fact that none of them seem to give a flying f#ck anymore. I know that the main reason is how the club is run, but the manager and players are professionals, they should all just get on with it instead of moaning about it. Earn their wages.

i think people think it would have to be a long boycott, but couldn’t be further from the truth. 2 or 3 max half empty stadiums would send a message like nothing else

That would be canny. Ready made shirt sponsor, and probably a rather fetching away strip 😀
They are certainly the type owner that would invest in success. Fantasy land though. We are not that lucky

All I suggest is for ppl attending games to show that ashley/pardews ways are unacceptable.
Even a prematch, inmatch or postmatch poll(Ashley out) or something of that sort with published results shd wipe the smug smile of mgmts faces.
We dunno how many watching there want him out though..

I would almost definitely say yes mate to that question.
Cabs and Debs are best of friends for a start and if memory serves me right didn’t Sissoko let something slip on his twitter account.

Comment #55IMO Lee Charnley will only become a credible Managing Director when he has appointed a more progressive Team Manager. Because the club are making a profit and with greater TV income there is an opportunity to sack AP and employ another similarly inexpensive manager. However it is not like Ashley to waste money so as long as AP achieves the targets that are expected it will be a case of wait and see.

Comment #60It’s true – we are more than a few sandwiches short of a top class picnic. If the players have been ‘pardewed’ – not a term I have any respect for – they are supposed to be professionals after all – the
Pardew has been well and truly Mashed whatever way you look at it. No workman can function with half a toolbox. Of course a bad workman blames his tools too – and he is no crafstman.
Having said all that why are the Gooners – only 1-2 players short of a really good squad – struggling with as dire results as we have had – and they’ve got a 58% win manager ? Even the very best sides have bad patches – our trouble is that AP can’t get us out of them.
The biggest problem is we are no longer Newcastle United Football Club we are now Newcastle Direct Football Club.

Comment #61Ok – time to annoy a few people, but home truths:
1. No it’s not down to not having Cabaye. But it IS a lot to do with selling Cabaye. That action destroyed a team built around him and accounts for the lack of shape or integration we see now. Should AP have been that dependent? Given the contains does he have a choice? Secondly, selling Cabs told the players that they were no more than cogs at an advertising machine that has no intention of challenging for honours. How is any player supposed to feel motivated or loyal?
2. Flair players – particularly fat, moody ones like Benny – are NOT what you need when you’re haemorrhaging goals. Benny is unfit and leaves the defence wide open – something the stats back up. His best use is as a late impact sub. He’s not quick enough against fresh legs and after 20 minutes he needs a lie-down and a pie.
Go on then – get stuck in…

As much as I would love for that to happen mate,Cabs would never come back to this shambles. He wanted out far to long to even consider coming back. And who can blame him for wanting to achieve things in his career rather than lurch from one season to the next with no hope in sight of actually winning anything

Comment #63Rotonda & Markaccus – Red Bull would be good but they would probably want to change the name of the club to something like Newcastle RedBulls – how many fans would accept that? I personally wouldn’t mind if it meant decent owners funding the team but look at the fuss at Hull!

Comment #69im amazed at how the club is going,
we have a team of international players, somee of whom look like they should be playing sunday league with the effort they put in
cisse cant score now to save his life why
santon has collasped
hba our most creative player why would you want him to defend, nobody ever asked mike tyson to stop going forward and defend…
myw and willo was great cb pairing
grouff great work rate….
players out of position
why blame the players when they alredy deflated
i think the players have become disalutioned with it all being dropped when playing well, being played out of position, being asked to do things that you arent that good at
there are too many players not performing the blame is with the poeple who should be motovating them and training them
if we sack the manager who r we going to get to come here and what players are going to want to come hereand half the team want out, the owner wont buy any real proven goalscorers
the money we got for cabs should be going on getting luckoo but he wont come here and we wont spend that money
a fed up fan who knows nowt about football so just imagine how the players feel they know a damsite more than us

Comment #73That PR statement is just terrible. A blueprint how you run a business backwards, pound for pound.
JFK did nothing so it was Charnley running in his disguise.
At least Pardew is on the page with rest of us that squad is not good enough. Probably an attempt to save his job or does he know he will get sacked an doesn’t care anymore?

Cardozo old. Gomis old.
We are only going to buy one or two young players that needs a year to settle in PL. When they do we get a year if we are lucky before we sell them.

Comment #77I’m sick of all this cynical sh*te from the club. Charnley’s is a miserable appointment and says more about what Mashley thinks of Managing Directors, Directors of Football and the future of the club than anything else. I have nothing against Charnley personally. I’m sure he’s a decent accountant and administrator but am I happy he’s the new man in charge of getting transfers in and influencing decision-making at the club? – No, I bloody well ain’t.

Comment #78Personally 1 or 2 players a year is fine for me, IF we had a squad that was good. But quite frankly we don’t, not to mention we have one of if not the worst manager in the league.
Judging by the statement it looks like Pardew is staying – pathetic.
I’ve always said I don’t mind Newcastle being run as a business. So long as it’s done properly. If a sports direct store had the potential to collapse due to weak structure of the building (the squad for us) you’d invest money into fixing it.
Same thing applies with a store manager in a Sports Direct store, you want someone with fresh ideas that will push that particular store. Yet we’re here with Pardew?
It’s not being run like a business. It’s just another way for Mike Ashley to make money for Sports Direct.
He doesn’t even have to pay out of his own money, just spend our profits.

I don’t think anyone would mind 1 or 2 additions improving the squad IF we were starting from a position of strength. As it is, we need major surgery in the summer, and 1 or 2 first teasers wouldn’t cut it.
That method also requires a regular conveyor belt of youth talent coming through to help, but there is no evidence of that as of yet either.
