News today in the Newcastle Journal – positive news – that Newcastle are interested in 20 year-old Ayoze Perez, and the youngster is playing at the moment for his home town club in the Canary Islands.
Ayoze Perez – 20 year-old Tenerife striker
This is the first time we have been linked with this player, and according to the Journal they are reporting that Newcastle are already in negotiations with Tenerife for the player – with the fee being around £1.5M.
So this player, if we get him, is more one for the future, and the 5’10” tall striker would not be challenging for a starting position next season.
Tenerife play in the Spanish second division and the right footed striker has scored 16 goals in 30 games for Tenerife this season with 6 assists – so he knows how to put the ball into the back of the net.
Perez was born in Santa Cruz de Tenerife in the Canary Islands, and if Newcastle sign him he will probably be part of the Development squad for next season, and we can see how he develops.
Newcastle will need to bring in a number of different players in the summer, some of whom can immediately become first team players. and others that will bolster the Development squad.
What do you think?

Comment #4Where’s Mr Ibiza, our man on the ground in Spain, when you want him to give us some background on Perez?
C’mon Ibiza, you’re not paid to analyse bikini fashions!

Comment #6I’m not sure about Remy Cabella having seen him a fair bit, I don’t think he has got the combative nature to his game required in the PL.
