Newcastle Linked With Dutch International Midfielder

We had an article out a few days ago about Newcastle being interested in 25 year-old Siem de Jong, who is the older brother of Luuk, and there is news in the Mirror today that Newcastle have the Dutch midfielder/striker high on their transfer list, and want to sign him in the summer.

Siem de Jong – Newcastle linked with Ajax captain

The Mirror is saying that once Yohan Cabaye was sold in January, Siem became one of the top targets, but we have been interested in the midfielder/striker for over two years now.

In January of 2012, we were first linked with him when we were after Luuk, and Luuk became our number one target in the summer of 2012, but he joined Borussia Monchengladbach.

Luuk is now on loan at Newcastle, but he didn’t play at all in yesterday’s 1-0 defeat at Stoke, which was  our 11th defeat in 16 league games and the 8th defeat in the last 11 league games.

It’s now unlikely Newcastle will sign Luuk, but Siem is different, and he has only fifteen months left on his contract, and Ajax want around £7M for him and he can play either in midfield or as a striker up front.

He made his first team debut for Ajax way back in September of 2007 as an 18 year-old, and since then he has played 239 times for the Dutch giants with 76 goals, and this season he has 7 goals in just 17 appearances.

And Siem has been captain of Ajax since Jan Vertonghen left for Tottenham in the summer of 2012.

We think Siem would be an excellent acquisition for Newcastle.

And yet he still has a desk where the great SBR once sat and he still has the nerve to sit in it and spin it round and round thinking up the next great excuse to be used after next week’s resounding thrashing whilst looking in one of the three mirrors in the hope of catching his best angLE.

This man would eat himself if he could, he’s devoid of any coaching ability, he ignores what every other coach in the world is doing still believing his way is the best, he has no class, he’s addicted to himself and gambling, and without any shadow of a doubt has now completely lost the dressing room.

his only saving grace being he still owes the owner some money. How about that for the worst ever reason for keeping your manager.

    This club is well fcuked

Pardew’s biggest crime is defending the indefensible – his boss. But I don’t envy him having to come out and say something after these matches. No manager blames his players in public and it wasn’t Pardew who banned the press in the first place. Everybody knows its the sale of Cabaye and too great a reliance on one quality striker which kiboshed our season. The way the knives are being sharpened, we may end up with a new manager but the same owner and given his track record of appointments, it will probably be Carver or Stone or Beardsley. Those who wish for a Laudrup or a Martinez should think ahead and ask themselves if anyone better is going to come to this club right now?
