Alan Pardew has given his press conference for the important game against Swansea City on Saturday, and he has said one or two interesting things – one of which is that the Newcastle fans are fair, but the team have not been fair to the fans in the last four games.
Alan Pardew – fans are fair
Alan caused great controversy after the defeat at Stoke, when he basically blamed the local press for the defeat, and that didn’t go down too well with the fans, and it certainly didn’t go down well with the local press. 🙁
And it caused a fire-storm early last week, and at times it was a bit scary with all the negative press, but it seems Alan has tried to be more conciliatory today – at least to the fans.
This is some of what Alan has said in his press conference
“If you lose four on the trot as Newcastle manager it’ll always be difficult.” “We all have to shoulder the responsibility, none more so than myself.”
“I think the fans are fair.” “And we haven’t been fair to them recently with our performances.” “I want to bring back that harmony we had with them not so long ago.”
“We have got three or four back in the training ground, Remy and Debuchy are back training, Sissoko is running.” “I hope that the fans give the team great backing.”
“I hope that we can put in a performance that helps because it goes hand in hand.” “Swansea are a great footballing side, they keep the ball and frustrate you – we have to be patient and take our chances.”
Pardew has done the right thing, because the number one rule of leadership when things are going wrong is that the leader must take full responsibility – it goes with the territory – and Alan seems to have finally done that – and that’s a good thing.
It’s also good that Loic Remy and Mathieu Debuchy look like they will make the Swansea game, and Moussa should be back for the game at the Emirates a week come Monday night.
There were signs unfolded wanting rid of Pardew at the Britannia Stadium last Saturday, and there could be similar protests at the game on Saturday.
Quite honestly, for the sake of the club, we just hope we can break our four game losing streak and get a win on Saturday, and of course Swansea have their own problems off the field at the moment.
But we know the Geordie fans will always support their players – just as long as they are giving 100% – so it will be important for the lads to make a good start in Saturday’s game.
We are hoping for a win on Saturday – but 64% of our fans think we’ll lose the game.
A win will significantly lift the dire mood on Tyneside at the moment.
Here’s hoping.
Comments welcome.

Comment #81Ok….well sorry then Ibiza. But still, you’re going to wear those little beggars down to nothing! You know the old saying “A man without nipples cannot wear tassels”? That may be where you are headed. I’m just saying it because we’re all concerned mate. 🙁

Pardew is either after another new record or he’s already deciding who he’s gonna blame this latest failing 😉

Comment #84Yes there will be more awards at the end of the season Toon Tang mate. Don’t get overly concerned though about Shola scoring. I’m not sure it’s on his priority list for this season.

Comment #86I still think wor Alan would look better with a pink Mohawk, nose piercings, and a black leather jacket. He needs to spice up the look to accept the LMA award again this season.

Comment #89G2…What am I saving them for? Old age? Nay, I say tweak, twist and fondle away.
You know the old saying “A life without mipple tweaking, is no life at all”? No? Me neither.
JB…Sorry, you’ve lost me. Which latest failings are you referring to, we have to be specific these days 🙂

Comment #90I just want to steady our nerves before this crucial Swansea match. Wor Alan has informed that we will definitely be playing a highly defensive game. A lot of back passes. Some scurrying about in midfield. Shola will drop back and defend as well. Willo will hoof it whenever necessary. So don’t worry mates, Swansea will definitely not score more than 3 goals! Beautiful Alan.

Comment #91….Well you’d be wrong Catchy. Neither Solsjaer or Poyet will achieve much as coaches. Quite simply, Pulis is a better coach, as he has proved with Palace. Solsjaer in particular was a silly appointment to appease the equivalent of you at Cardiff…ie lets get the next up and coming newbie boss…the reality is that they would have been better sticking with Malky Mackay as Solsjaer has generated no momentum. And bar the League Cup, Poyet has made the makems worse and they would have been better off with O Neill. Lets remember, Poyet has rooted them to the end of the table. If he was genuinely good, he’d have them at least 5th last. The table doesnt lie at the bottom.

Comment #93JB…I wish people wouldn’t always focus on the negatives. What about a table for goals conceded in 2014?
I bet we’d be near the top of that bad boy, but no, can’t have Newcastle associated with any positives like that, can we?

Comment #100Santon, what a useless heap of garbage. Again, correctly predicted within two games of his arrival by Munster Mag. A nothing player, albeit with good skills. Poor defending on ground, poor in air, poor delivery going forward. Who said our chief scout is a legend ???

Comment #104Munster mate you’re being a bit hard on Davide there aren’t you? It has taken wor Alan months, nay whole seasons to get him to the state he’s in now. He’s knackered anyway so he may actually improve by not training with Pards. You see? There’s always a silver lining mate! 🙂

Comment #109Geordie two, he’s a shocking player mate. Slow to tackle, runs backwards with his hands behind his arse, awful at getting close to his man on long crosses. Lots of energy, good skills, then little delivery.

Comment #110Aye Munster mate. I love to watch him stand with hands on hips, shaking his heed when caught 40 yards out of position while the opposition scores. A unique approach to defending. Usually happens when Colo isn’t there to cover his ass. It used to be Jonas before he went on that strict meat pie eating training program.

Comment #112Geordie Two, the sad thing is, he was never going to do much 40 yards up the pich, except cut inside and squeeze the space. I do think Pardew has improved our style of football this season and some of the fast passing I have seen has been fine, and he has to be given credit for that by the people who were screaming that he was solely a “long ball merchant” . This is patently untrue. However he is a dull manager who is lost without his sta me n ( as a lot of bosses are ) . He is highly conservative and never batters teams, and turns wingers into running defenders. I am beginning to this our chief scout is somewhat overrated too. I know its early days but De Jong has been poor in addition to Santon ( rank ) and others. Its not where our problem lies though. If we are so committed to France ( where the players are relatively badly paid, surprise surprise ) , then we need to think about a French DOF or manager. Its more likely we will get a good british chap like Big Eck though.

Comment #118Colback should think twice about throwing his career into Pardews black hole. Goslings was a promising England under 21 international until he started working under this imposter and he isn’t the only one Santon Haidarra Benny biggi Cisse Sissoko have all gone backwards.
