Newcastle’s Transfer Targets Buoy Me

It’s just a pity we couldn’t somehow find out the real transfer targets Newcastle have in the summer, but Alan Pardew has said today that the targets Newcastle do have buoy him.

Siem de Jong – Newcastle after him this summer

This is what Alan Pardew said yesterday about our transfer targets in the summer:

“I hope so because the targets we have buoy me.” “The stats have endorsed what they have been to us, but it should not be like that.”

“We should be able to spread that across the board a little bit more, and that is a criticism we have to accept.”

“I am hoping the other strikers in the group get goals and the other creative players in the team create some goals.”

“If we can even it out a little bit more, it would make my job a little bit easier.”

Newcastle have already been linked with lots of players and they include Remy Cabella, Clement Grenier, Siem de Jong, Benjamin Stambouli, Carl Jenkinson, Micah Richards, and Paul Ince among others.

We don’t think anybody at Newcastle will now step up to the plate and add creativity to the side or score a lot of goals, and it certainly hasn’t happened in the last six games, when we have lost five of them, and the one goal we did score gave us the victory against Crystal Palace.

And since there’s only four games to go it’s hardly likely that anybody other than say Loic Remy will score a lot of goals for us – and it’s looking like Luuk de Jong has had his chance – and he didn’t deliver.

The good news is that both Loic Remy and Mathieu Debuchy should be back tomorrow for the winnable game against Swansea – honest – I mean it – we can beat Swansea. 😀

And Moussa Sissoko should be fit for the game at Arsenal a week on Monday, but news today that Davide Santon is out for the season.

Davide re-injured his hamstring last Thursday before the Stoke game, and it’s at least a three week injury so he will unlikely be seen again this season.

Comments welcome.

Note: Craig Finnigan is a Newcastle fan and graduated from Newcastle College in 2011, and he has created a one-off key ring, and all the profits will go to the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.

he really thinks 52000 will buy that !!

the thrilling signings that would buoy him are bent tomkins and jenkinson!!

Sickening how he refers to ”his own fans”, not as NUFC fans !!

Most self absorbed, narcissistic and delusional cretin you’ll ever come across, but sadly no one to save him from himself and pull the plug no matter how badly it affects everyone and everything else around him.

I def think we need to add some English/British talent to the squad. Guys you all need to stop winging about Pardew because he is going nowhere whether we lose the last 4 games or not. Before you all get excited, I want him gone as much as the next man but it isn’t going to happen

    Blah blah blah!

Why not buoy the fans you claim to respect and leave. 90% want you gone. You are not welcome!

Don’t forget Shola is his favorite player.

Pardew would be buoyed by Lentil soup even if a steak was available

there is a tiny chance he’ll be gone if we finish 11th as that will eclipse even the losing run of last season and break more pardew unwanted records.

I don’t think we should just get used to him being here either. how defeatist is that?

    Marty Toon,

That post about us not getting known names is bang on.

I dont see any players at decent foreign clubs like ajax, marseille, benfica etc wanting to come to us.
Its only unknown players with no better options who can be tempted by the wages and aura of PL.

The other option is to go for PL players like Colback etc .. or rodwell from top 6 teams..who cant get into the top 6 sides leaving us to challenge everton and s’ton for the signature. This option is valid only this season as next season we will be piss poor battling relegation.

The last option is has-beens who we have followed for some time but they dint come to us and now are underperforming at their new clubs. For me this is the most risky. eg Luuk de Jong

    Hurray!
It seems the appointment of that Lee Charnley has cheered up Pardew over transfers.
He is making noticeably more optimistic noises about the transfer market. And already, some of his little helpers are buying it.
    What a wizard wheeze!
The reality? The club has got its duck’s in place for the farago of the transfer window. Charnley has already stated the reality, and he will be keeper of the austerity flame. Freeing Pardew up to make as many cynically optimistic noises as he likes to counter the REAL problem facing the club….that people are starting to vote with their feet.
So in comes the good cop/bad cop routine. Cynical yes. Clever? Only when deployed in presence of the terminally gullible.

Rotonda, I agree it is defeatist but do you really believe all the comments on blogs like this one will in any influence MA decision to get rid of AP. I don’t! I really hope I am wrong but cannot see it.

Ah, thought it was tomorrow he’s back on the touchline, but it’s Arsenal isn’t it?

Well, I hope he’s barracked from every direction, in that case.

    BandB @ 12 – Spot on mate!
Haven’t we heard all this crap about new signings coming in somewhere before? It happens before every season starts in the hope that the gullible will fork out again for season tickets.
Bouyant signings means spending top money Pardew and we all know that that scenario to Ashley is like a cross held up to a vampire.
We won’t be getting lots of signings and what we will get (if any) will be out of contract performers, free transfers and loans ie other clubs’ cast offs and ‘not wanteds’.
Fans shouldn’t swallow this b******t yet again and show that, by not renewing their season tickets, they won’t be lied to this time as it has happened too many times in the past.
The ONLY way this club is ever going to move forward is when Ashley, Pardew and his so-called coaching team leave this part of the world.
Does anyone out there who loves this club really want more of the same next year… and the year after…. and the year after?

    So tired of this BS.
Just get the team paying and shut up on transfers until we actually sign someone.

Doubt any of those mentioned above will come.

Even better actually – Pardew just walk away and take your coaches with you.
Our set piece record only is a damming indictment of how bad you all are.
Then there’s the punishing list of thrashing we’ve endured these past few seasons; countless losses by 3 of me goals.

    It’s disgusting.

Same rhetoric we’ve heard before? Maybe it is, maybe it’s not. Fans are not moving to cheer another club so most of us will be here when the window opens. I really hope this time is different and major moves in the transfer market are not only made but finalized as well (over the line).

Does it matter who we sign really? When we have a manager that A – doesn’t play the creative players we already have. B – can’t get the best out of them. C – wouldnt know an attacking tactic or training session if it bit him in the jacksie!

    ‘Buoyed by targets, is it’??
Isn’t that like taking a dummy and a teddy to bed at night? Sweet dreams, Al. But when you wake up to the cold light of day, you’ll see that you’ve a laughable transfer budget and a junior accountant to run around seeing what the big clubs have left on the shelf.
