It’s just a pity we couldn’t somehow find out the real transfer targets Newcastle have in the summer, but Alan Pardew has said today that the targets Newcastle do have buoy him.
Siem de Jong – Newcastle after him this summer
This is what Alan Pardew said yesterday about our transfer targets in the summer:
“I hope so because the targets we have buoy me.” “The stats have endorsed what they have been to us, but it should not be like that.”
“We should be able to spread that across the board a little bit more, and that is a criticism we have to accept.”
“I am hoping the other strikers in the group get goals and the other creative players in the team create some goals.”
“If we can even it out a little bit more, it would make my job a little bit easier.”
Newcastle have already been linked with lots of players and they include Remy Cabella, Clement Grenier, Siem de Jong, Benjamin Stambouli, Carl Jenkinson, Micah Richards, and Paul Ince among others.
We don’t think anybody at Newcastle will now step up to the plate and add creativity to the side or score a lot of goals, and it certainly hasn’t happened in the last six games, when we have lost five of them, and the one goal we did score gave us the victory against Crystal Palace.
And since there’s only four games to go it’s hardly likely that anybody other than say Loic Remy will score a lot of goals for us – and it’s looking like Luuk de Jong has had his chance – and he didn’t deliver.
The good news is that both Loic Remy and Mathieu Debuchy should be back tomorrow for the winnable game against Swansea – honest – I mean it – we can beat Swansea. 😀
And Moussa Sissoko should be fit for the game at Arsenal a week on Monday, but news today that Davide Santon is out for the season.
Davide re-injured his hamstring last Thursday before the Stoke game, and it’s at least a three week injury so he will unlikely be seen again this season.
