It’s a surprise that both Loic Remy and Mathieu Debuchy are starting on the bench today against Swansea, and why that’s the case we have no idea, it’s not like we don’t need them in the team immediately.
And surprisingly Luuk de Jong, Papiss Cisse and Shola Ameobi all start – and yes they are the players who have one goal between them in the last six games – so it’s a strange starting eleven that Alan Pardew has put out today, in what is a crucial game for us.
It looks like it’s a back three again, but Paul Dummett is brought in on the left, and Steven Taylor is again relegated to the bench.
And 60% of fans think we’ll lose this game in the poll we conducted – and if the starting line-up was known before the vote – that percentage would be even greater.
We need a win somehow today, against relegation threatened Swansea City.
It seems a modified 3-4-3 formation with Luuk de Jong behind Shola Ameobi and Papiss Cisse up front – and the only question is how long will it be before Debuchy and Remy are brought on – and we better not be behind at the half – without these two lads playing. 🙁
This is a strange selection by the manager.
For Swansea, former Newcastle winger Wayne Routledge is in the starting eleven.
Newcastle: (3-4-1-2): Tim Krul; Fabricio Coloccini (c), Mike Williamson, Paul Dummett; Vurnon Anita, Cheick Tiote, Dan Gosling, Yoan Gouffran; Luuk de Jong; Papiss Cisse, Shola Ameobi
Substitutes: Rob Elliot, Mathieu Debuchy, Massadio Haidara, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, Steven Taylor, Adam Armstrong, Loic Remy
Swansea (4-2-3-1): Michel Vorm; Angel Rangel, Jordi Amat, Ashley Williams (c), Ben Davies; Leon Britton, Jonathan de Guzman; Wayne Routledge, Jonjo Shelvey, Pablo Hernandez; Wilfried Bony
Substitutes: Gerhard Tremmel, Neil Taylor, Kyle Bartley, Jay Fulton, Nathan Dyer, Marvin Emnes, David Ngog
Referee: Chris Foy (Lancashire)

Comment #99We can play with 15 strikers. If you don’t have a creative player in the team to CREATE, nothing will happen.
