Wilfried Bony scored a goal in the stoppage time of each half this afternoon, to give Swansea only their second win in 10 games against a weak Newcastle United side , who have now lost five games on the trot, and this must be one of the worst runs for a Newcastle side for a long long time as we have now lost
We play Arsenal and Liverpool away and then Cardiff City at home so we may not get another win this season, and certainly the players lack confidence.
And Newcastle even went ahead in the game after 23 minutes through Shola Ameobi, and it was his first Premier League goal of the season, but then two minutes into stoppage time Wilfried Bony beat Mike Williamson to a corner kick and headed the ball high into the back of the net.
And then in the two minutes of stoppage time at the end of the game, when Newcastle looked as though they could at least break their four game losing streak – Cheick Tiote managed to foul Emnes on his way to goal.
And the referee awarded a penalty, and Bony made no mistake from the spot, and that was our 5th defeat on the trot and heaps even more pressure on Newcastle manager Alan Pardew.
Swansea have now also done the double over Newcastle in each of the last two seasons, even when we caught them today, when they had just one win in nine before this game.
Stoke drew 1-1 at Cardiff City so are now only 2 points behind us, and in all likelihood will beat us to 9th place, and Crystal Palace got their 5th win in a row at West Ham by 1-0, and have gained 15 points on Newcastle since we beat them 1-0.
And Palace are now only 3 points behind us – so they could even pip us to 10th place.
If that happens we will not make our target of a top ten finish, and Alan Pardew could be fired.
