It’s All Rubbish About Hatem Ben Arfa

Ben Arfa was at the game yesterday and was seen waving and signing autographs for Newcastle fans, and there have been press reports there is a rift with manager Alan Pardew.

ben arfa signs for young fan cardiff

Ben Arfa signs autograph for young Newcastle fan yesterday
Notice Ben Arfa’s concentration – I must spell my name correctly

When you have a player like Ben Arfa, and he;s sent to train with the Development squad, that looks to us to signify some kind of rift with the manger.

But the Newcastle manager is having none of it, and he said after the game it was rubbish:

“I have seen that. It’s an absolute load of rubbish. He came and shook my hand at the end and that was it.”

There were even rumors the pair had come to blows – but that sounds like made-up nonsense to us.

However Ben Arfa is a very popular player with Newcastle fans and he’s a match winner on his day, and fans will not be pleased if he is sold this summer.

But if Alan Pardew continues on as the Newcastle manager it’s odds-on that’s what will happen.

That would not be good.

And Pardew is simply not getting the best out of the Frenchman, and surely Ben Arfa, with his unique skills and terrific dribbling ability,  can be used by Newcastle, at the very least as an impact substitute in the last 20 minutes of games.

What do you think?

HBA is on his way out, no doubt about that. I have my reservations about his work rate but there is no denying he is a talented boy who was completely wasted under Pardew. He clearly cares about NUFC and the fans and wants to stay but I don’t think he’ll be given the choice in the summer.

Would have been interesting to see what a better manager could have gotten from him, but now we’ll never know.

Heard Ben Arfa chinned Pardew. If that’s the case one or the other will have to go.

Managers fall out with players. Similarly players fall out with other players. It’s not always sweetness and light all the time.

not sure why you mock him with that remark, man.

Anyway, I still have slim hopes that it will be HBA who wins this little battle and it is AP who leaves. Still, I felt for AP, what a feeling it must be for a stadium to turn against you!

On the game: The voting has been pretty much spot on, with Siss and Debuchy leading. I felt Remy had a very poor game by the way.

Impressed by the way Ameobi stared at the fans after he scored that goal 🙂 We’ve all criticised him but… would you fight him? :() btw, would renew his contract!! He’s been here forever, can do his bit in the last 10-15 minutes and is intimidating to defenders. However, many others must be replaced.

i will not follow nufc if pardew is the manager come 20th may. if pardew is manager come August-september we will get relegated. 100%. you can feel how fulham and cardiff feel.

ameobi must be shown the door!

The right new manager would tell HBA to get in shape. Then NUFC will teach demand a bit of defense or total offense from him and we will go from there.

the artful dodger you forget pardew has the his answer already we cant compete against the finances of those teams in fact we cant compete with any team.i would love a reporter to earn his money and ask pardew why a club with the 3rd highest gate cant compete against any team why sports direct don,t pay any money for advertising. sports direct and nufc should be run as 2 different companys

Pardew still had to get a dig about the finances being tight, but not the fact his gaffer is as tight as a hangman’s noose!

We are only gratifying the likes of scumbags like Keys and Stelling by squabbling amongst ourselves. They like nothing better than to see us as a panto in freefall. We are like a self-fulfilling prophecy. Harvey, Keegan, Hall, Shearer and Sir Bobby never believed it but the media lap it up about the Cinderella club and we act it out to perfection.

Sav, Stelling is good. He has often back up the north east clubs when the others have been making wayward comments.

I’d imagine if we got a new manager in it would be a clean slate. I think thats what every single player on the team needs. But I sh1t yea not if Moyes is hired and he gives Ameobi another year on his contract I’ll do myself in.

I love Ben Arfa but you have to face facts that when he’s been given his chance he hasn’t always come up with the goods. Yes it would be interesting to see another manager with Ben Arfa but the lad has to learn when to give and when to go. Too many times he makes bad decisions and loses the ball in bad positions. I still think he has to be given a free role or alongside a striker. Look at how Rogers uses Sterling, Sturrige and Sterling and consider Ben Arfa, Sosoko and a good striker and a more flexible approach. Last but not least, please please find Ameobi a job in the Souvenir shop!
