Newcastle’s Disastrous Finish – Lose 2-1 – Two Sent Off – Finish 10th

It’s hard to think how the last 30 minutes of the game and the season could have gone any worse, after we had been playing very well and leading 1-0 through an own goal from Daniel Agger after 20 minutes, but we conceded from two set plays after 63 and 65 minutes, Shola Ameobi was sent off after the second goal before the game kicked off again, after he said something to the referee, and then another local lad Paul Dummett was sent off after 87 minutes for a flying tackle on Suarez, who did his usual Hollywood job of writhing around in pain on the pitch, before getting up and carrying on, but only after Dummett had been shown the red card..

We somehow don’t think Mike Ashley will be too impressed with the collapse of this Newcastle side in the last 30 minutes of the season..

Whats going on?

Soccer - Barclays Premier League - Liverpool v Newcastle United - Anfield

And just to make things worse, if that’s necessary,  Stoke City scored a winning goal through Charlie Adam in the 87th minute at West Brom to win the game, and go above Newcastle, and we now finish in 10th place and we lost eight of our last ten games since the Hull City Alan Pardew disaster,  and we lost seven of the last eight games – just absolutely and completely terrible.

The final 30 minutes of the game was almost as bad as three years ago when we were winning 3-0 at home to West Brom, and we then conceded three goals to draw and finish 12th in the league, and if had won we would have been 9th – today was another suicidal last 30 minutes of the season for Newcastle – a complete lack of discipline.

The team has simply lost it this year.

Let us know who you think the best Newcastle player was today.

Wey I called 10th start of the season. I even won a bet at work stating we would finish in the top 10.

Improved league finish from last year. Mind we could have been 8th or 7th given the start up to Christmas we had, and lets be honest 1 man (Cabaye) DOES NOT! have that much impact.|

I said give Pardew another year at the start of the season, am glad we have him a full season. I cannot see any further improvement, infact I see it only as getting worse based on performances.

I would go as far as to say he has lost the players.

I have heard Ben Arfa is away, which is not a bad thing for disrupting the players. Goes as far as players not willing to pass him the ball on match day, which lead to problems between Benny and Pardew.

Think its time to say goodbye to Pardew. Personally I think Moyes is the obvious choice

NUFC almost restored some pride to the Geordie Nation today. It was only conceding two extremely silly free kicks that led to L’Pools goals. What Krul was doing for the second is anyone’s guess, but as it’s probably his last match, we’ll pass on that.

Can anyone explain Strollas sending off, not to mention Dummet being dismissed.

Despite the loss, I honestly felt a lot happier with our performance today. Still want P45due out though.

manxpie – yes, they dominated us. 61% possession, more efforts on goal. The possession rose to 67% after the red cards.

What would have been a fair result in your eyes?

We scored from a flukey own goal, in your mind would a draw has been a fair result… based on our LUCKY goal, and your insistence that a disputed ref decision isn’t fair. (Btw, it isn’t the refs fault our side cannot defend from set pieces)

I am glad you are happy with 5 defenders, 2 holding midfielders and wingers told to concentrate on tracking back.

I am glad you are happy with a performance that was mostly all about stopping the other side, and doing nothing creative from our side, apart from 1 through ball.

If you are happy with 8 mean being camped in our own half, with 3 players all running in different directions in the opposition half, with not a clue what they are doing, being the basis of our attack… well, I am glad you are easily pleased.

All the stats show Liverpool were the better side, they played in our final third, held the ball, attacked etc. Don’t be surprised if they force the issue and win a free-kick by playing that way, then go onto win the game.

You hustle you win… You sit back, you are a victim.

Ed do you actually think Ashley cares about the performances??
I’m sure Pardew will still be here next season and we will have signed 2 loan players by the end of the summer, saying it’s difficult doing business in a world cup-summer..
While other teams will have strengthened and bought decent players we will struggle, buy some consolation signings in january and end up in a relegation battle, which I hope we’ll lose!
As relegation is the only way Ashley will ever quit this club, because as long as we’re in the premier league, he will make money of us poor newcastle fans who keep supporting the team and paying too much money for worthless football matches.

And De Jong and Ameobi will be given new contracts as they’ve helped the team to a 10th place finish!
My nickname is more true than I coul’ve ever imagined. We’re a club that’s cursed by people like Ashley and Pardew…

First half played well against a very flat Liverpool.

2nd half Coutinho seemed to change everything. Not sure how we conceded from 2 free kicks taken from virtually the same place. Talk about short attention span!

Ameobi should have known better, but Dummet was a shocking sending off, one of the worst I’ve ever seen.

In conclusion another defeat breaks another record for Pardew and even Stoke pipped us in the end!

One pro was I quite liked the sweeper system as it covered our lack of pace at the back and Gouffran had good chances and should have done better.

    Pellegrini – this charming man.
    Pardew – this arrogant oaf.

Let’s get it into context. Both Liverpool goals cane from dubious free kicks while the yellow cards dished out to Anita and others were riduxkoys while the sending off for Shola was a disgrace. Can’t blame Pards for this because this was a game for cheats and they were all wearing red

every manager basher on this blog answer me this question

are you saying that kevin keegan and alan shearer BOTH d1ckheads for not continuing as manager because if other great managers are expected to come and work for that fat b@stard why couldn’t these two club legends.

me i’m not calling them a d1ck because i KNOW good managers and most club legends will not work as a slave. beardleys has been getting his legend sttus destroyed recently by ashley because he said some words as ashley wanted them.

if pardew is sacked than ashley has one final chance to win over the fans and that’s to install a decent manager. if not, the only thing newcastle fans can hope for is that ashley sells up sooner rather than later

Never even seen you before so must assume you are someone using a different user name,

MA is not the problem, or not the big problem. I honestly believe the club would have been sunk and not seen the light of day had he not taken over.

I admit it is frustrating we have not bought anyone etc, and yes that is his fault. But I still stand by at the start of the season we had the best squad since Bobby Robson was at the helm….

Pardew simply cannot manage that same squad to achieve what it should have achieved this season (atleast top 8 and atleast a quarter final in a cup)

I think the same squad with a few additions, we can actually be team next season.

A disgrace at worst. Out with Pardew. Sell up Ashley. You’re wasting everybody’s time owing a football club you idiot.

Guys I watched game on sky. In my opinion tiote has to go hes absolute crap. I loved him his first season but since then no good. He messes up the flow of our game gets us into trouble a lot. He never spreads play always keepin ball same side of pitch which puts our players under pressure and easier to close down. Also liverpool equaliser was sissokos fault. If u watch he had 2 chance to press and close2 pool players and tackle but he just stood there and watches and then anita had to give free kick away

I cant believe some people are blaming the players and Pards for this loss. I am no Pards supporter at all and i would like a new manager but he was not to blame today. We played some lovely Football for change. The corrupt game robbed us of the game today. Phil Dowd is a disgusting excuse of a man and should never ever referee NUFC ever ever again. To give two free kicks for next to no challenge at all AND for Liverpool to score from them is a kick in the nuts THEN, to send two players off for very little is beyond belief. Dowd is a cheat its as simple as that. I have never seen such a one sided referee in all my years of watching Football. I think it was the same ref that missed the horror tackle on Hiadara and and blatant hand ball to win Wigan the game. I might be wrong. HORRENDOUS referee! If i could get a second in front of Dowd, i would be tempted to stick one right on his hooter.
