Pardew – The Referee Didn’t Manage The Game In Second Half

Some comments from Newcastle manager Alan Pardew after the game today, where Newcastle found a way to lose the game 2-1 – our seventh defeat in the last eight league games, and after doing well and leading 1-0 at half time from an own goal by Martin Skrtel, we conceded two goals in the 63rd and 65th minutes from set plays.

Alan Pardew – on the touchline today at Anfield

Shola Ameobi was probably playing his last game for Newcastle, and he was bizarrely sent off by referee Phil Dowd, when the 32 year-old picked up two quick yellow cards, and was sent off after 66 minutes.

Alan Pardew defended his center forward and it may be that Newcastle appeal the sending off – in fact they should do that.

This is some of what the Newcastle manager said after the game:

“We had a good game plan. Perhaps we were slightly unfortunate not to get the second goal when Gouff was one on one.¨  “The ref played a part in my view in the second half.¨

“He should have managed the game a lot better than he did. And we conceded two goals.¨  “He had a part in the first one by Vurnon Anita. Then there was a foul from Agger on Shola.¨

“Liverpool have had a fantastic season and they showed their quality. If you give too many set plays away it will hurt you.¨ “Unfortunately we didn’t quite do as well as we should have.”

In fact the game plan was good, and it was executed very well by Newcastle until the second half,  when we started to concede far too many free kicks just outside the box, and we eventually paid for those fouls.

Newcastle have now lost 14 of our last 20 league games and we finished 10th, which is a six place improvement on last season, and the second best we have ever finished in the Premier League under Mike Ashley, and its also the second best points total – 49 – over the last seven seasons that Ashley has been in charge.

But that just shows how unsuccessful Mike Ashley has been at running the Newcastle club.

Pardew is more to be pitied, he cuts a forlorn figure these days robbed of all his bravado and confidence, which comes with working for a renowned control freak.

I think Ashley is leaving him to face the fans fury, hoping that he will walk away and save him a £15m compensation.

Just want to say, Remi Garde has decided to leave Lyon so he is up for grabs along with Frank De Boer, Thomas Tuchel.

The best time to get rid of Pardew.

    Also, Athletico mardrid just scored!!!!!!

The irony is the gameplans that Pardew comes up with are good, but coaching the players to follow them is what let’s us down. Pardews not a good enough coach and should part ways with the club.

    £15m???

He gets paid 500k a year and with 10% bonus extra for finishing top 10 this season.. its around 750k mark max.

You trying to say he earns £2.5m a year and with another 6 years on contract Ashley would pay £15m to get rid? no way

It was said he has release clauses in his contract and a 1 year payout only.

daztoon did you see our last few games where the team worked very well?

so arfa who obviously has lost not just the manager but his team mates is out of the team we play better as a team
    strange that isn’t it?

and as for marv i never want to see him in a toon shirt anyways the day he lost the ball and just stood there shows wat he’s about and probably shows wat he’s like in traing too

the fact they are our only “flair” players says it all really

    manxpie // May 11, 2014 at 7:30 PM

jack forget any of them lol

    seriously look at his record!
the only one he has employed that he didn’t know was keegan

i seriously wouldn’t be surprised if vinny jones was in with a chance let alone any you mentioned lol

Even now he is still evasive when questions put to him about the summer recruitment.
‘We cannot compete with the bigger clubs’
‘We are a massive club and the fans are just frustrated’
Best of all though ‘We are going to try (get offensive players)’
Pards you need to make sure we DO SIGN players not try…. we get this every single transfer window

So what Marv lost the ball and didn`t track. We have enough defensive players already.

The lad has a ten minute cameo when the games are already lost.

When has he ever been given a good run games.

The only thing in Ashley’s wallet is dust, while NUFC’s TV money is locked away in the fat prick’s vault . The guy is a real life scrooge McDuck.

The seasons barely been over a few hours and already he’s come out with the “we can’t compete financially” drivel. It must have been a different Mike Ashley in the top 25 UK based billionaires list then.

We have more chance of having a Rémi Garde, David Moyes, Christophe Galtier, Malky Mackay or Michael Laudrup as our manager than we do in finding someone with a spare £300 and million willing to buy us

I’m ashamed to say that this was probably the score I was wanting. Alan Pardew has been on borrowed time for a weeks now and you have to accept the fact that if Mike Ashley doesn’t get rid of him then it will be like a cancer throughout the club as the fans are now united in wanting rid of him. I do feel for the man and wish him no harm so best the axe falls quick to put the man out of the inevitable pain that a continued spell would bring. Bring in the new man whoever that may be and give him this “war chest” that’s supposed to be on offer. We know there’s going to be a clear out but with the right man brought in some of the players may be persuaded to stay and 4-5 decent additions could see us pushing on. It’s not all doom and gloom and if you’re old enough you’ll remember worse times but I think the club is at a cross roads and the right decision is vital.

    Subject: Pellegrini

Even when he’s got something to shout about he doesn’t make any ‘noise’, a modest man and a class act. Can you imagine Pardew in that situation, luckily the world will never have to see it, because he’s s–t.

Rotonda, I apologise for trying to big my self up, what I was trying to to was put the fool down, which can come across the wrong way to other level headed people like yourself, it doesn’t matter what side of the argument you are on, I am sure you will agree that we do both get some who are beyond being civilised with another’s view, but if I was offensive, what I was offensive with I don’t know but I will accept your view and apologise as I look at you as being decent , a complete nightmare as far as my views go but a decent bloke none the less, but like I say if getting carried away with frustrations, the I do apologise, but it would be nice to know what I did say as I dont usually go down the line of calling people fools, even if I do think it on a regular basis.

God help us if the majority of you so called supporters, were ever to run our club, we would be millions in-dept and within a few years do a Portsmouth. first half great with a constant side that almost picked itself, OK Cabaye lefr for a place on a bench, not replaced by Kinnear, bad mistake, then our so called squad players failed yet again mainly Maveaux, Ben Arfa and others, when injuries to key players happened, Pardew’s head butt did not help either. but hey we still finished in the top half. Catchy, Ruddy or Cerian or what ever he has morphed into, Jail and all you others who welcome us losing, so as to spill out all your bile and hated.

You are not NUFC supporters advocating walkouts and boycotts. what ever must a potential newcomer think about coming to our wonderful club when so called fans boo and walk on a 3-0 win.

I am not a great lover of Pardew or Ashly, but they are better than a whole lot of other owners and managers.

lets see once again what the summer window brings, we may all be surprised, or at least let us hope so

I think you’re doing a pardew, you’re cracking up. Delusional and in denial over everything and it’s always someone else’s fault, no matter that the guy has been sacked from every club he’s ever been at.

You take very game in isolation and make excuses after every loss as if it were a one-off.

Just look at the stats, they’re absolutely shocking and here you are yet again after another game and another loss still making excuses. You’re almost worse than Pardew.
Yes we bear the mighty Cardiff…Whoop!!

Martinez and Poyet and no doubt any other foreign manager were not good enough for you and lucky for you it looks like we’ll be stuck with this mediocre joke of an old school English manager for the forseeable.

you are not going to get rid of Ashley unless HE wants to go, you can call for him to leave, sing, chant even have it tattooed to your forehead, he’ll simply stay away from games and it will have no effect on him, he not a local so it’s nothing for him to keep away from SJP and the area as a whole and even if he did want to go until there’s a buyer he’s not going anywhere
