Newcastle Midfield Target Makes French World Cup Squad

One reason Clement Grenier did not want to make a move to Newcastle in January, was that he wanted to stay at Lyon to try to make the French World Cup squad, and when Didier Deschamps announced the 23 man squad last night Grenier made it, and rather surprisingly,  Manchester City’s Samir Nasri was left out.

Clement Grenier – made French World Cup squad

With Newcastle failing to get Grenier to Tyneside in January, we could now face tough competition from bigger clubs for Grenier, and that task is not helped by him making the French squad.

And if he does have a good World Cup for France, then Newcastle’s chances of getting the player could be reduced significantly.

The 23 year-old would be a terrific replacement for Yohan Cabaye, who also made the squad, and Clement has excellent vision, creativity, and he’s great at taking free kicks – not unlike Yohan Cabaye.

Newcastle’s Mathieu Debuchy and Moussa Sissoko also made the squad, as did on-loan striker Loic Remy.

Last season the 6’1″ attacking midfielder played 40 times for Lyon in all competitions, with 7 goals and 7 assists.

As we said, this lad would be a great signing for Newcastle, if only we can get him to Tyneside this summer.

What do you think?

We should have used everything to try and get him!!! Outstanding physical presents and sublime distribution, if anyone is going to sign him they better get a move on before the World Cup.

Don’t worry if he has a poor WC or gets injured we’ll have a chance.

That’s most of the transfer budget gone to “agents”, “wages”…

I don’t even think we tried to get him, there might have been an outside chance of EL if we had pushed the boat out and signed him.

WWIII will start from the elite.

All the gain will go to the Zionists, Rothschild,Rockefeller.

If you do not know nothing about Zionism I suggest you search it up and only learn to question everything in life. Also remember not to believe everything you read and always come up with substantial evidence and source from deep research.

    Anyway, that was off-topic.

Mike Ashley keeps investing and his is investing wisely, LA Fitness has a range of luxury gyms 30 in total so far.

He can open up and expand more since SportsDirect supply most gym appliances and workout material to most gyms these days.

He is clever man in the business world but in the football world he is going to let us down if he does not push forward and get rid of Pardew.

“The pair will meet this week to discuss the season and transfer targets, with no suggestion of any showdown talks, and Pardew is confident he will get a sympathetic ear”

Funny that ain’t it? He is trying to big and praise Mike Ashley as a wonderful man so he can suck up to him and bend over.

Previously last month he made Shola talk about how rough it is to work under this regime and Pardew promised his utter best to in return get him a extended contract or get him signed up as an “attacking” coach.

Nothing is certain yet, and no way is Pardew safe from his job.

The private meeting was not even held yesterday as most journalists said it was and remember that stupi £60m budget headline to get fans to sign up for season tickets and renewals.

I’m quite interested in all those fans who nominate either Debuchy or Willo as player of the year – have you looked at our goals against this season? Whilst we certainly need to sign strikers in the summer, we seriously need to have a “defensive upgrade”.

I don’t know the official figures but I would guess that the majority of fans, like myself, probably pay for their season tickets by direct debit simply to split the cost across the year. The DDs for next season’s ST started 1st March so we had to decide by the end of Feb whether to renew or not.The point I am getting at is all this talk about possible transfer targets to encourage ST sales is nonsense because most of us had to decide back in February whether to renew or not! The transfer rumours come from journalists who want to sell newspapers, website advertising etc.

Tim… “we only talk NUFC here”

Except for that whole ‘cisse refuses to wear wonga shirt’ debacle. In that instance it seemed fine for people to reveal just how ignorant and prejudiced they are. But that was okay because it pertained to nufc.

Count from previous; I just don’t think this is the place for religious views. If I wanted that sort of discussion, I wouldn’t be on this blog.

I live a long way from the UK, so rely on this blog for my NUFC “fix”; I’m really not interested in people’s political and/or religious views

Turkish, I would not class myself as being thick nor stupid, but I do fear that I may not know what is actually a Zionists, this is not ignorance nor a desire to offend, after all most of the British population came from a false Church created by Henry VIII.
