Newcastle One Of Several Clubs After Lyon Striker

Reports from France suggest that Newcastle are one of several clubs who have already made inquiries for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, who tunes 23 next Wednesday.

Alexandre Lacazette

Alexandre Lacazette – Newcastle have inquired about striker

Alexandre Lacazette has scored 22 goals in 54 games for Lyon this season, and has two full caps for France.

Two other clubs said to be interested in the player are Arsenal and Everton, but Arsenal have a number of striker targets, and they include Loic Remy.

The latest news on Remy is that he may need to eventually choose between Arsenal and Liverpool, and he may well chose Arsenal, where he would probably have a better chance of being a starter in London.

Newcastle today reported that three of our four strikers – Shola Ameobi, Loic Remy and Luuk de Jong – will all be leaving the club this summer, so we need to bring in some top strikers this summer.

Liverpool and Italian champions Juventus are also interested in the young French striker, but there again they have other top striker targets they are also pursuing.

Le Progres are reporting that Lyon are expecting offers soon from English clubs, but if Arsenal, Liverpool and Juventus are really interested in Lacazette, it’s hard to see how Newcastle can be successful in getting him on Tyneside.

But on the positive side, Alexandre will almost be guaranteed first team football at Newcastle, and the Tyneside club are still highly regarded in France, and he would need to fight for his place at some of the other top clubs.

So we suppose that could be an advantage to Newcastle – maybe.

There are just 19 days to go until  the World Cup gets underway in Brazil.  and Newcastle have said they would like to get all of their transfer business tied up by then.

Comments welcome.

    So.

We want to get our transfer business done before the World Cup starts?

And we are reported as being one of a number of clubs that have already made inquiries!

    Already made inquiries? Made enqiries??

Another summer of leavers with no quality coming in ahead? Looks like it!

Given the combination of Pardew and Ashley, oh and no ambition, we’d struggle getting Shola to sign for us!

    :-S

sorry ED I just couldn’t stop laughing at that bit 🙂

on Mbiwa – it’s a shame to see him go or when he does goes because he seems to be the only defender who is highly rated and could become a top defender for us but then again Pardew has f@cked him up big time and I hope he does leave to further his ambition.

on Sholla – I never liked the guy on the pitch but off the pitch he was a canny lad when I meet him – good luck for the future mate

when we lost remy and wernt scoring
why didn’t we put goofy upfront and put the left footed benny on the left

thing really were not working for us second half of the season surely when that happen the best thing to is have as many players as you can in there best positions
not half a team playing there cos they can and there slightly more favoured

19 days in which to get all our transfer business done eh Ed?
Seeing as we couldn’t get one permanent player ‘over the line’ in two close seasons and we probably need six or seven new top class recruits that’ s going to be one Helluva feat.
AND WE ALL KNOW IT AIN’T GOING TO HAPPEN DON’T WE?

as much I would hate to see this happen but this should happen in respect of the players these should go now before it’s to late –

Krull – top keeper but being exposed by our weak defence.

Debuchy – probably the best RB in the PL but he is being wasted here under Pardew – Debuchy belongs in the top clubs.

Sissoko & Mbiwa – again top young players being wasted and can’t have any chance of getting silverware here and these guys deserve more.

Santon – has huge potential to become a massive player but again being wasted here and we are lucky to keep him here because of his Goerdie lass & Kid.

Tiote – he will tire out soon with keeping defending all the time and probably hoping to see past the halfway line 😉

Anita – another huge potential being wasted with defending, he needs to move on to a ambition club to get the full affect of him.

Haidara – top young potential coming through the ranks but he’s not going to achieve anything here to further his development.

do you really think that mike Ashley would offload mym who was acquired for £7.8m all for the sake of one bad season ???
Add Colo on that list as he seems to want out.
our transfer targets would become cheaper if they don’t make the final list.Ashely would be waiting on the cheaper end of this window. fingers crossed.

I was down London Last weekend to see my mate who is an arsenal fan. I went out to watch the final with him and a load of other gooners and thought what the hell I’ll just support arsenal for the day.

It was actually one of the best days/nights I’ve had out in years.

The streets were awash with a sea of red and white shirts of all ages. We walked through North London at midnight to go home and every street was packed with people singing and celebrating. It really was electric.

They were saying they’d finally got the 9 year drought off their back!!!

Could you imagine the scenes up here if we got our 45 year drought off our back?!!

Anyway not one arsenal fan I spoke to knew of any link to Remy and none of them thought he was good enough either.
They all thought he was ok but they reckon they need a mega bucks striker like Henry to finalise the jigsaw.

I honestly don’t think a huge club is coming in for Remy.

Money talks, we should just make him an offer he can’t refuse!

yes MA would offload Mbiwa because Pardew doesn’t think he’s good enough, Pardew picked Collo & Taylor over him, this surely answers every question

I think 3 players will be signed before the season starts

Perez – LDJ and maybe Bent on loan

every other player we are linked with won’t come simply because we are now a lesser club regardless of finishing 10th

doesn’t mean pardew is right after all this is a man that told us mbiwa was a left sided centre back and in the same week played him at right back

cant work out why he never put taylor out there he ahs played right back loads of times over the years and scores from there as well taylor is also right footed

I think with Taylor not playing RB is due to him not being fast enough and wouldn’t be ably to support the wings.

like Dummet once he gets the ball he will just lump it up field, with Mbiwa at RB he has more pace than Taylor and also better at defending

For Mbiwa to excel at centre back we need to play him with a no nonsense defender but a better one than Wilo, someone like Shawcross for example.

    Krull – Timo Horn
    Debuchy – Corchia
    Haidara – Sandro
    Anita, Tiote, Sissoko, Hughes, Grenier
    HBA – Cabella – Thuvain – Ince

but I have no idea about strikers

yes the same thing did happen with pea

gomis is on 53k roughly in france and there tax laws are higher than here but 60 70k a week is still pretty high for an unproven player in our league

we will get a target man in though pards couldn’t play with out one
I don’t mind them it doesn’t have to be hoofball with a target man

    Sigh-
I sincerely hope that we can get a proper striker this summer.( Luckily we didnt sign Luuk De Jong He is a real disappointment thus far to me)

In my opinion our team is definitely in top flight talking in terms of players’ quality, but the lack of strategy and synergy is a pain in the ass!!! I nearly cried each time I saw us not being able to play the quality we possess :((((

I dont want to hear people saying nufc is a ditch anymore. This summer we got to get some players that really can get the work done. One more thing, I don’t think getting players from Liga 1 is a brilliant idea as they don’t have the experience of english football ( box to box). It will just bring us more disappointment.

look at our strikers: goufrann ,Perez, cisse and Sammy
goufrann is now a wing, which i wont coment on it
Perez is confirmed to be put into U21 squad
cisse (i cant even remember when did he last score, probably ages?)
And sammy, who isnt adapted to box to box fights in pml

I think we need chaps like darren bent and Hernández ?
    what do you think?
