Newcastle Linked With Arsenal Striker

Newcastle were linked heavily with 6’4″ tall Nicklas Bendtner three years ago, but nothing materialized, and he eventually went on loan to Sunderland, and the season after that he was on loan at Juventus, and last season he was at Arsenal where he made only 12 appearances with two goals.

Nicklas Bendtner – Newcastle interested?

Bendtner was a good player at Arsenal when he was younger,  but in the last three years he has struggled, and played 45 games with 11 goals, but in his first three full seasons he played 121 times for the Gunners with 36 goals.

While at Sunderland from 2011-2012 he wasn’t always a starter and played 30 times with 11 goals, and finished as the Black Cats top scorer, and played 11 times at Juventus without scoring in the following season.

Maybe the reason Newcastle are interested in the 26 year-old is that he becomes a free agent on July 1st, after his contract at Arsenal expires, and maybe Alan Pardew thinks he could be a threat with his heading ability from set plays and crosses.

But Bendtner is also not an easy player to manage, and he is reported to have a very high opinion of himself – so if only he was as good as he thinks he is – there would be no problems.

Nicklas can still put the ball into the back of the net, but if the interest is true, we cannot believe this will do anything to raise Newcastle fans’ hopes that Mike Ashley is getting more ambition for the Tyneside club.

Juts because he is a free agent, shouldn’t say we should be going after him, if he isn’t good enough for the Magpies.

But he does have a lot of Premier League experience, which is what Newcastle are looking for this summer.

What do you think?

Ed, you are about 5 hours behind on this one I’m afraid. According to the Press here, he has to accept a £12K per week paycut down to ONLY £40,000 per week, poor chap.
How the hell is he going to cope on only £40,000 a week, every week. Poor lamb lol

I’d certainly take him as one of the ‘supposed’ three striker’s we’re meant to be bringing in this summer!

I think he’s the kind of player which needs some ‘love’ as he’s got talent – something the best fans in the world can provide him with? Worth a shot with a £0 transfer fee!

How on earth is he going to survive? He’ll have to make some serious cutbacks…

No thanks to Bendtner – he is a knacker. Gets pissed and then gets nicked by the cops- recall damaging cars in Stowell Street and just last year criminal damage at his fancy dan pad.
Avoid this guy like the plague.

“It’s a pity for Southampton because they have been terrific this year, but the fact is that the good players in England are always going to gravitate towards the top clubs. That’s where the money is, and the Champions League football. Unfortunately, for a club like Southampton, there are always bigger fish in the sea.”

Woy giving a rather bleak and disheartening but entirely accurate assessment of the lot of a club that we “apparently” can’t compete with financially.

I don’t rate him at all but I think Pardew will get the best from him. The worse the player is the better Pardew does with them.

A sneaky ploy to get him back to Tyneside to payback all those who’s cars got damaged in Stowell street no doubt and nothing less.

Nicklas Bendtner is a good player.Nothing more than that, nothing less.I remember how he dominated in strength Branislav Ivanovic(very very strong player).Definitely 1000 times better than Andy Carroll. Not a bad choice. And head game in England is very important and he is head wizard.

If Bendtner comes here there is very small room for Luuk De Jong because they are similar kind of players.Maybe Bendtner will be excellent duo with Papiss.I hope so.Breaking cars hmmmmmm.

Bendtner in the past has saved Arsenal from a lot of defeats.Last couple of years even Arsene Wenger has a lot of holes in his management and because of that Bendtner is going down. And for Sunderland team we know that they are struggling and are disoriented.Martin O’Neill didn’t make it there.Asamoah Gyan also.Even Poyet said that something strange is happening in that team. And because of all this reasons I mentioned, quality of Nicklas Bendtner can’t be questioned.

This bloke is a complete bell end however I wouldn’t put it past Pardew to rate him, 6’4 right up his street.

He isn’t the worst centre forward we could get in terms of ability, a average mid table striker.

But his ego, lifestyle, and the fact he decided to go on a vandalism spree with Clattermole (I think) should mean that this name doesn’t even get spoken of, let alone thought about by those that run the club!!

A definite no on this one for me!
