Perez – I’m Pleased To Play For This Magnificent Club – Video

For those fans who are down on Newcastle United right now – because of what happened this year, cheer up – at least our new signing has called the Newcastle United club magnificent – and that’s got to be a good start to his Newcastle career. 😀

Ayoze Perez – I’m very pleased to play for this magnificent club.

Newcastle United have just confirmed the signing of 20 year-old Tenerife right winger Ayoze Perez  on a long-term contract, and somehow signing a good player is like winning a game – it tends to lift the spirits.

Perez had an excellent season last term playing for Tenerife in the Spanish second division, and in 34 games he scored 16 goals and had 7 assists.

This is what he has said on nufcTV today:

“I’m very happy to be here to start this new adventure.” “I’m very eager for it to begin and I’m very pleased to play for this magnificent club.””Any football player would be interested in playing for such a Club and I will earn my position to get in the first team.”

Ayoze also said he knows quite a lot about Newcastle and their history and some of the players, such as the great Alan Shearer, and he has watched a lot of Premier League games – especially those involving Newcastle United.

Perez will start in the Development squad, but it is now up to him to force himself into the Newcastle first team squad, and get as many first team games as he can next season for Newcastle United.

Ayoze has yet to pick a Newcastle number, and he will wear Ayoze on the back of his shirt, and the lad certainly seems to have the right attitude, and those comments will soon have the Newcastle fans right behind him.

There are reports that a number of top clubs were after him, including Arsenal and Real Madrid – but he chose Newcastle United – maybe becasue hes got a better chance to get games on Tyneside.

We wish him every success on Tyneside, and we would love for him to be a huge success at Newcastle.

Ayoze already has over 9,000 followers on his Twitter account – you may want to follow him here.

Maybe you can also welcome him to Newcastle United. 😀

“Magnificent Newcastle”? Someone should tell to this fella that we are 2014, not 2004. Even so, good luck to him.

Perez is a cracking signing for us, now all we need is a manager who could use him properly. However we still need some proven strikers in and soon.

If the lad’s being put in with the development squad, would that suggest he’ll be excluded from the pre-season tours?

Ok, so maybe Carr for example, has cast eyes over him and assessed him as unready for the first team yet, but when has our development squad developed young players to first team readiness?

Given the lack of recent graduates from development to first team squads, it’s surprising that the coaching set up hasn’t been reviewed and restructured. But then again, they could all be on the eight-year contracts that make them untouchable?

Could be another PR scam to make fans think he is signing so that season tickets get sold lol

Best guess is that we are so short on numbers that its best to have as many shirts up as possible incl Shola’s

This guy is very good. Has yet to prove if he can cut it in the Premier div, but word has it that he will walk in. Sounds like very good bit of business at around 1.6 mil!!!.
