Newcastle Could Make Move For Marseilles Winger

Newcastle were interested in Marseilles attacking midfielder Andre Ayew last summer, but it was a terrible transfer window for the club, and Joe Kinnear only managed to bring in on-loan striker Loic Remy from relegated QPR, and Loic is leaving us this summer, and will probably be signing for Arsenal, who seem to be his first choice.

André Ayew

Andre Ayew – available from Marseilles

And news in the French daily La Provence yesterday, that Andre Ayew wants to leave his French club Marseilles – but it’s for a bigger club, after Marseilles only finished 6th in the French League last season, and missed out on even a Europa League place.

The 24 year-old Ghanaian striker, who can also play on the wing, has just one year on his contract at Marseilles, and last summer was linked with both Liverpool and Newcastle United.

And he said last summer he would love to get a move to The Reds, and recently he has also been linked with Italian club Napoli.

Napoli were third in the Italian League last season, so both Liverpool and Napoli can offer the player Champions League football next season, so if they are really interested, it could be difficult for Newcastle to get him on Tyneside this summer.

It also seems that Andre is willing to play out the final year of his contract at Marseilles and become a free agent next summer, so in that case the French club may want to get something for him this summer, rather than lose him for nothing next year.

Ayew is in Ghana’s World Cup squad as expected, as is his brother 22 year-old Jordan Ayew, who is also at Marseilles, and was on loan at Sochaux earlier this year.

And if Andre plays well in the World Cup, that could send his price higher, which is what Marseilles would no doubt like to see.

Last season he played 29 times for Marseilles with 8 goals and 4 assists, and he has played 47 times with 4 goals for Ghana.

We’d be happy with Newcastle signing either Andre or his younger brother Jordan, who also plays as a striker or a winger, and has already played 10 times for Ghana with 2 goals.

Too slow to play on the wing, too small to play in midfield or upfront .

Townsend or narsingh would be much better options, we need at least one pacey winger. Those two can play either side too.

This transfer window is becoming another car crash. If we wanted to we could have had most of our “supposed” transfer targets tied up by now. Once again we haggle with clubs valuations of their players And come up with the same excuses of not been able to get them over the line. Can you imagine if psg had only bid 10 million for cabs! Fat boy would have been laughing at them. Well guess what mike you fat piece of shit all other clubs owners laugh at every embarrassing low bid you make you fu**ing idiot. I’ve never wished this upon any human being but mike do us all a favour and drop down dead.

There is an abundance of top players available. We have money there to spend but won’t spend it. Once again we become a laughing stock trawling the bargain basement for has beens or unheard of players. I just can’t believe we are been linked with shite such as Curtis Davies and so on. Why oh why we wait till a World Cup year for what should be our busiest transfer window is just insane. I wouldn’t blame graham Carr for walking this summer. We have one of the best scouts in Europe coming up with dossiers of these talented players. But we won’t buy anyone so what’s the point of him doing this job.

Also was pissed off with England last night. I had £50 on Belgium,Argentina,England and USA. @4/1 what made it worse was when I see altidore had scored a brace for USA lol. I have covers my gable end of my house in giant England flags. And even painted my garage door with a st George cross. And we can’t even beat Honduras haha

THE TYPE OF PLAYER OUR ILLUSTRIOUS MANAGER WANTS JUST ISN’T OUT THERE…AN OUT AND OUT SKILLFULL WINGER WHO CAN CHANGE A GAME IN AN INSTANT BUT HAS TO BE HAPPY AT THE THOUGHT OF DEFENDING FOR 90 MINS A GAME.

    NAME ME ONE!

I sympathise with what you are saying. M. Ashley is worth billions. NUFC is a drop in the oceon to this fella yet the club struggles to bring in even the cheapest of players. Not only that, Pardew wants rid of HBA. A player that can change a game in a flash. Also Marveaux who has had very little in terms of chances to prove himself and MBIWA. And the Chronicle saying we must sell players to bring players in. The squad is P1ss weak to start with. It’s time to accept the fact we will never ever ever amount to anything under the current regime. Ashleys only concern is money making. He is not interested in entertaining his paying customers. He is all take and no give. Bargain basement signings and we even struggle to get them over this line they keep talking about. Forget Cabella or any player over the 7 million price range. A nice hefty wod of money with our league position finish straight into Ashley’s scratcher. Frustrating to say the least.

Yes pardew has killed the confidence of our better players such as hba. I could well imagine him flourishing with confidence under a good manager like Brendan Rodgers. Even mbiwa. I’m not saying it all pardews fault because our coaching set up is also a shambles. From top to bottom it’s just a sad state of affairs mate. We deserve much better

So we did bid for the lad, that’s two accounts of us doing so from montpellier and at €8m!

Offering that amount just shows we don’t really want him and it’s all for show, look we tried! Honest! Spend some of the club’s dosh ffs ya fat leech!

    “I’m happy [for Cabella’s call-up], because he’s a great kid,” Nicollin told L’Equipe.

“This shows the quality of our academy. It is highly probable that I’ll go see all the national team’s games.

“I’m happy I didn’t sell him for €8m to Newcastle.”

I agree on Marveaux. I’ve never seen him do anything particularly exciting. I don’t see any of what everyone on here seems to bang on about. He’s very average and he’s shown nothing so far, and yes, he’s had plenty of chances!

Thanks Lesh and lol. My lass is a fitness instructor and last week I was little upset when she had told me she had ordered some new trainers off sports direct for work. She wasn’t happy with me when I told her she looked like a cheap tart when she was off to work lol. I’ve told her if she orders anything else off there I’m leaving her. When I saw the invoice they had sent one of them tacky mugs they had charged £3 for it even though she hasn’t ordered it, the cheeky basturds. She was shocked when I smashed it out in the back yard. My two year old son was laughing his head off.

That game you were at against Spurs, Marveuax came on with the game definitely in the balance, he didn’t play badly he just didn’t do anything, run for the ball, look interested not diddly squat, if that’s what you do when given a chance you don’t get too many more.
