Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini did not have a good time of it last season at Manchester United, and found it hard to settle after new manager David Moyes had brough him form Everton for a massive £27.5M.
Marouane Fellaini – available on the cheap
Marouane was signed on the last day of the transfer market for 27.5M on a five year deal, but now that Louis van Gaal has been installed as the new manager if seems that the famous Dutch coach has let it be known the Belgian International has no future at Old Trafford.
The 26 year-old was signed by Everton for £15M in the summer of 2008 on a five year deal from Standard Leige, and at the time Newcastle were linked with the player, but that £15M fee put us off.
But now the news is that the Red devils are willing top let the 50 times capped International leave for about half the price they paid for him.
So the question is whether Newcastle would be interested in signing a player, who looked very good when he was at Everton, and has played 177 times with 33 goals for the Toffees and last season played 21 times for the Red Devils.
When a good player has one bad season, it’; often a good opportunity to sing him for less than he’s really worth – and that could be the case with Fellaini, who is still a good player.
And at 6’4″ tall, the Belgian would provide both power, skill and goal-scoring ability to Newcastle’s central midfield.
But if we were to hazard a guess we’d say that Newcastle – make that Mike Ashley – wouldn’t be willing to pay something like £14M to get the Belgian, and of course his wages will be high too.
