Rumors Of A Third Newcastle Signing On Monday

8:29 am, Saturday, June 14th, 2014 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 19 Comments

There are rumors circulating on the internet that Newcastle are ready to announce their third signing very soon, maybe Monday, but exactly who the player may be is not known.

remy cabella 98

Remy Cabella - have we signed him?

The web-site NUFC Fans – which is part of the NUFC Fans United organization are reporting this – but of course how true the news is we have no idea, but maybe they have some good inside information?

It will be interesting to see if any of the local papers report anything on this today or tomorrow.

In these transfer windows, there are all kinds of rumors that go around, and Newcastle are linked with so many players it’s always difficult to know which stories are accurate – most of them are not.

It looks like it could even be a young French player – and maybe it’s one of the French youngsters we’ve been after for some time, and he may have already passed his medical.

The report suggests that Newcastle officials have done the deal in France over the last few days – so the interesting question will be – is it a senior signing?

If it is, it could be any one of a number of players including Montpellier winger Remy Cabella, Lyon central midfielder Clement Grenier or Lyon striker Bafe Gomis – so if it is one of those targets – that would be a major signing for the club.

Maybe even young Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette?

And it would also be timely,  because over the last few days or so there has been some negative publicity about Newcastle being so miserly in the transfer market, and the club have again been ridiculed by that 70 year-old Montpellier Chairman – Louis Nicollin – who has said Newcastle are treating them like idiots.

Either  Remy Cabella or Clement Grenier would be great signings for us.

Here’s hoping.

Comments welcome.

I’d love to think it could be PEA, grenier, cabella or lacazette.

But most likely it’ll be Gomis if anyone.

I’d hardly say bullsheet Jamesy , announcement should be made Monday , not saying it’ll be a major signing but sounds promising

@7: nufcfans said it. Honestly, that’s like taking betting tips from Colyn.

NufcFans are not part of any organization Ed. I myself were working with NufcFans for over a year.

    Fcuk,
Its made up nonsense, where does this story come from???? Not one of the daily papers support this theory. So I say again Bull Sh1t. If I am proven to be wrong I will be the first to apologise and hold my hands up, but heard it all before.

Newcastle announce new signing…..Joe Kinnear as Director of Football.

Haha, you’ve got to laugh but the scary part is that it COULD actually happen at this club. Makes you shudder doesn’t it.

Go on Mike Ashley, you’re doing a sterling job of making yourself look like a complete douche bag across the UK and the whole of Europe. Yes you’re rich and clearly enjoying fleecing our club but it’s not just NUFC you’re making a mockery of – it’s you and your precious Sports Direct too. Way to raise your international profile big lad. Enjoy shaking that Scrooge reputation off for the rest of your life. You do know that even your ‘friends’ are talking about you behind your back, right?

The word in the east end of London says Carlton Cole….. If Ashley’ll agree to an extra two quid for his agent’s fee.

Or maybe it’s Sol Campbell’s return?

    :-D

I’d welcome signing Gomis at this stage if only so we don’t have to read any more stories about whether we’re going to sign him or not.
Idiots are in charge of our game at club and global level.

Really?…. You may as well post all of Colin’s transfer rumours too.

As much as I would love us to announce a quality signing soon I’m just not holding my breath.

IMO it will be a low cost or free signing all made with the intention of moving on for a profit in a couple of years time. Not bought to develop a decent squad.

Come on, Mr Ashley, prove me wrong!
