Newcastle Star Could Leave This Summer

Even before the World Cup started last week, PSG and Roma were both said to be interested in signing Newcastle star full back Mathieu Debuchy, and Mathieu had a more than decent game in France’s easy 3-0 win against Honduras in their first game, in which Moussa Sissoko came on as a second half substitute to get a run-out.

Mathieu Debuchy – top Newcastle right back

And the French press have wasted no time at all in suggesting that Roma could make a move for the Newcastle right back in the summer, and they mention that former Lille manager Rudi Garcia is now doing very well as Roma manager, and he had them in second place last season in the Italian League, behind only Juventus.

The French web-site Mercato365 is reporting the Roma manager is watching Mathieu closely during the World Cup, but of course he already knows a lot about Debuchy, after managing him at Lille to the French Championship back in 2011 – when Yohan Cabaye was also in that side, but Debuchy is also a much  improved player now at Newcastle.

And earlier this summer the French right back didn’t exactly go out of his way to say he was staying at Newcastle this summer, and when asked about rumors of him moving to PSG – he simply said he would leave that to his agent.

Mathieu signed a five and a half year deal when he signed on at Newcastle in January of last year, so he is contracted to Newcastle for another four years.

And Mike Ashley will be asking at least £10M for Mathieu should top European clubs come in for him, and even more if he has an excellent World Cup, which is very possible.

We need some good players brought into Newcastle this summer, and the last thing we want to see is one of our very best players leave the club.

It is really spoiling my enjoyment of the USA v Ghana game having to listen to that whining knobber Lily Savage. Absolutely useless commentator -made worse by his high pitched whining voice. He’s a tool as well.

I agree m8, the guy is a tool.

Any man that gets blond highlights and has a pony-tail by choice deserves a slap.

We are a selling club so Mashers will sell any player he gets decent price for. Very surprised if Debuchy is with us in August. We buy frees and cheap tut. A joke club which is being run down.

Debuchy was great on the offence for France, unfortunately he isn’t afforded the luxury of playing that way under AP and as far as defending goes he can too often be a liability. Too many gung-ho challenges and rash tackles

Ed’s story on joel gardner was just conjured out of thin air but that’s okay because the headline ended with a question mark.

Who is the richest man in the world? Ed, why not write an article (fairy story) about how NUFC might appeal to him? Take us away from our humdrum existence with a fantastical tale of derring do.

May I request that it makes reference to the imminent sacking of Pardew and his replacement with a brilliant, up and coming young manager of your choice?

Joel Gardner!? Who’s Gardner? I meant Campbell.

Who’s Joel Campbell? Oh yes. Just someone to whom Ed has taken a fancy.

Of course it’s likely that Debuchy could begone in this transfer window.

He is just an “asset” that can be realise by selling him on. Money in the bank with no replacement. Lovely Jubbly Drinks all round eh boys!

Eventually he will have disposed of all of our decent players replacing them with on loaners or cheaper players.

We really need someone at SJP to point out that gambling on there being at least 3 worse teams than us in the PL is a mugs game. Sooner or later (probably sooner) our paper this squad will be found out and we’ll be relegated. Watch the value of your team plummet then Mr Ashley.

If we don’t significantly strengthen our squad this summer, or in January 2015 I’m not renewing my season tickets.

It might seem harsh, but his actions over the next 6 months or so will show whether we are still NUFC or just SportsDirect Town.
