Newcastle have been after Bafe Gomis for well over a year and even last summer his wage demands were said to be high although there has been news widely reported that we have offered him £2M signing on fee and £70K/week.
Bafe Gomis - long term Newcastle striker target
But news in Sky Sports yesterday questioned that report, because they are reporting that his wage demands are again stretching Newcastle’s willingness to sign him – and talks are now said to be at an impasse.
So it’s hard to know what the truth is with such contrasting reports about Gomis – but if Bafe and his agent are really being too greedy, maybe Newcastle should walk away.
Newcastle could sign younger strikers this summer, and if all Bafe is thinking about is the money – then maybe Newcastle United is not the club for him..
Newcastle have been in talks with his new agent Willie McKay for some time now, and it seemed that Newcastle were in the driving seat for the striker, even though there were some big offers from Turkish clubs, as well as London clubs West Ham and QPR.
What the real situation is with Gomis right now is a very good question.
