Midfield Target Has Heart Set On Joining Newcastle

It never seems very easy for Newcastle to get their transfer targets to Tyneside, and in every transfer window we seem to have (very)  long-running sagas,  and in the last two summers it’s been with Mathieu Debuchy from Lille, who we actually signed eighteen months ago, and Bafetimbi Gomis of Lyon – who we still haven’t signed – and might not even bother pursuing any more, after he’s in talks with a Chinese club.

Remy Cabella – still wants to join Newcastle

And this year, probably the big one is our efforts to get Remy Cabella to Tyneside, after we had a bid turned down from Montpellier in January, after Yohan Cabaye left,  and another bid that was turned down a few weeks ago.

And yes, it all gets a little boring.

But there may even be some good new news on the Cabella front today in the Journal, as Newcastle have continued to get positive statements from the player and his agent that he still very much wants to join Newcastle.

And that’s in spite of all the negative stuff coming from Chairman Louis Nicollin about the Tyneside club, so we assume both Mathieu Debuchy and Moussa Sissoko are doing a good job in Brazil – of persuading him to join Newcastle United this summer.

And the news is that Newcastle will make another move for the French International, but only after the World Cup ends in Brazil. 🙁

So that could be as late as July 13th if France get to the World Cup final and they certainly made a good start with their 3-0 trashing of Honduras in Group E.

Cabella’s still a top target fat Newcastle, so we suppose the good news is that we haven’t given up on him – not yet anyway – and it seems he’s very keen to join us – and that’s very good news.

Music to my and every other fans’ ears. Get him over the proverbial ‘line’ ASAP. Will bring much needed cheer and uplift to the fans after enduring much.

Cabella might long to join Newcastle but that is an irrelevant detail, albeit a gratifying one.

He can talk till the cows come home about his dreams of pulling on a black and white shirt but it won’t influence Mike Ashley to pay the premium Montpellier are demanding.

Errr.. is it just me, or is this article lacking any content to back it up? Who has said what to suggest Cabella is “desperate to join Newcastle”? And how do we know the club are planning another bid after the WC?

    Ed??

Would that be the same Debuchy and Sissoko that are planning to leave NUFC this summer that are doing a good job convincing Cabella how fabulous it is on Tyneside though Ed?

We all know its just paper bollox until the ink on the players’ signature is dry.

Believe nowt until we’re proven wrong (In that Ashley, Pardew, Charnley and their circus aren’t utter incompetents and surely have literally no coherant plan at all ). 😀
