Newcastle In Move For England International

There are a number of even positive reports out that Newcastle have both been offered Cardiff City defender Steven Caulker, but he’s not yet the finished product, but he’s available for £8M – since that’s the supposed release clause in his contract.

Steven Caulker -007

Steve Caulker – while at Tottenham

And we cannot find any information that Cardiff paid out £11M for him, which is being widely reported,  and all we can find is that it was something over £8M – and a club record signing at Cardiff City.

Steven is just 22 years old and he’s not the finished product by any means, and he played 12 times with two goals for the England U21 side and has one cap so far for the full England side, but he is also tipped to become an England regular as he matures.

Two years ago he was a regular in the Great Britain side that played in the London Olympic games, and he was an ever present at center-back while still only 20.

Cardiff leaked a lot of goals last season (a huge 75 goals in fact) and they scored only 32, and he played 39 times with 5 goals for them, so while he has been building up his Premier League experience, he’s still got a lot to learn.,

Tottenham under new manager Mauricio Pochettino are reported to want him back at Spurs, after he only left last July on a four year deal at the south Wales club, but there’s just no way he will now stay at Cardiff City in the Championship.

We also think some other big clubs will come in for him, but he would likely get a lot of playing time at Newcastle, so that’s an advantage we have.

But somehow we just don’t fancy our chances of getting this Englishman on Tyneside – even if the most recent news is true that we are interested in the Feltham, London born center-back.

If we did get Caulker in – then another Steven – Steven Taylor would be on his way out, so we suppose it would be decent business to offer Taylor in part exchange.

What do you think?

Not convinced on caulker .. Lineker highlighted concerns about him being too slow on the turn .. We need a fast cb to compliment willo or collo .. I reckon there’d better out there for 8 mill .. Zouma on loan as an eg.

As for lassogga again there’s better strikers .. Just because he got called up for the German team doesn’t guarantee success .. From my Denis wise school of scouting he looks slow and his shot strength is average. .. Gomis is better imo

    Haha come on now Dennis

He’s widely renowned to have one of the hardest shots ever in the budesliga.
Look at his finish from outside the box it puts shearers to shame haha
I realise its only Fifa but his shot power is 99 out of a hundred

He’s an absolutely unbelievable talent and he’s 22 hes an absolur monster and is a no brained at his age. Anyone who gets into the German squad ahead of Gomez and Reus is good enough for me.

Also for people saying his record before hamburg wasnt good enough… He was injured for most of the season before and was only 19 in his first proper season so 8 goals wasn’t too bad

    Sign him up

I saw on another Post that there was comment about Sissoko not going on the New Zealand Tour in the summer pre-season?

Are they having a laugh? The player is in Brazil in the French squad, for crying out Loud? Is the WK competition not Pre-Season preparation enough for “The Mag”?

Be interested to see if Debuchy is well involved in the NZ trip?

As for Steve Caulker, i don,t even believe That the player or for that matter his club have even been busy with a prospective move for him to us??
