Newcastle Target Looked Very Good Against Germany

One of Newcastle’s supposed summer targets, Marseilles forward Andre Ayew looked very good for Ghana in their tremendous 2-2 draw with Germany tonight at the Estadio Castelao in Fortaleza.

Andre Ayew – celebrates after scoring with great header

The first half of the game was fairly tame with Germany controlling much of the play, but once again the game exploded in the second half with four good goals.

Germany went ahead though a Gotze header after 51 minutes, but just three minutes later the dangerous Andre Ayew equalized with a fine header, and throughout the second half the Ghana number 10 looked dangerous.

Former Sunderland striker Gyan put Ghana ahead on 63 minutes, before Germany manager Joachim Low made a double  change and brought on Klose and Schweinsteiger, and within a minute of coming on the field Miroslav Klose equalized, with a good goal at the far post following a corner.

And that was the 36 year-old’s 15th World Cup goal, equaling that of Brazil’s Ronaldo as the top scorer in the World Cup, and the German has also scored in four World Cups.

After the scores were level at 2-2 both sides went for the win and it was really exciting stuff and either country could have won it.

Andre’s brother Jordan came on for Ghana after 52 minutes and he had a few good shots too, and both players would be good signings for Newcastle.

24 year-old Andre is available for transfer from Marseilles, where he has been since 2010, and in four seasons there he’s played 164 times with 49 goals and 16 assists, and he has 51 appearances for Ghana with 6 goals.

His younger brother Jordan is 22, and he has played 165 times for Marseilles over five seasons, and he has scored 22 goals, and while on loan at Sochaux since January he played 18 times and scored 5 goals.

Jordan has played 13 times for Ghana with 5 goals.

Both brothers would be good signings for Newcastle United.

What do you think?

We should sign some Chilean players. They have a great Team mentality and never say die attitude which I believe are two very much needed attributes we lack. One of the dark horses in the competition.

    – Very Disciplined.
    – Hard Working.
    – Team > individual Mentality, finely shown in their first goal. Name 5 current Premier League forwardd that wouldn’t have taken the shot and instead pass it across the keeper to an oncoming team mate.
    – 86th minute, three Chilean players closing down the Spanish Lad in the Spain half, despite leading the game 2-0 and WINNING the ball. How often do we see that in the BPL? Especially at our club.

Make that a former target we were waiting for his contract ran down, bloody
inconvenient that a world cup came along.

I must admit that I have change my mind on Ayew. I now think we should get him if the price is reasonable.

Anita One Bites The Dust….. What the Chilea players don’t have that we’ve got is Pardew.

Add that magic ingredient to them and that’d be the end of their budding careers!

Now as far as the Ayew brothers are concerned, Ashley’ll be looking at a bid of £5m on the basis of buy one, get one free!

    Bloody cheapskate!

    On the WC:
What are Low doing with Germany? I know Guardiola came up with this stupid idea of Lahm as Sideways Pirlo but why use it on national level when you don’t have any fullbacks.

Just saw a John Legend and Alicia Keys rendition of ‘let it be’. One of the best covers of it I’ve ever heard.

    That is all.

Bet Shola is happy he chose Nigeria over England, atleast it looks like he will progress in the tournament. TBH if he played for England we couldn’t perform much worse.

belfast mactoon goes missing for ever unless you mention club politics any footy banter obviously doesn’t interest him but mention ashley and advertising or finances in support he’ll turn up!

i’m actually surprised since a couple of people have highlighted something with sports direct that i personally don’t understand or want to understand that seems to highlight some dodgyness about ashley that he hasn’t turned up lol maybe he’s tired

    Just as a new angle…

If we fail yet again to bring in good players I think Graham Carr will be gone within a few days of the transfer window closing this time.

He was reportedly fuming about NUFCs bungling (and basically ignoring everything and everyone he mentioned).

I wouldn’t blame him at all either. Yes its a kushy job but it most of us shoukd know if you’re good at what u do and u try hard to then have your boss completely ignore your efforts is pretty ******* annoying to say the least.

You heard it here 1st. 😉

manx – a decent through ball -fair enough – but that was it – his strolling became more obvious when comparing him with his team mates great efforts to chase down everything.
Was not really impressed with Odemwingie – not really a star player -never really lived up to early exectations.

GeordieDan….. Like you, I wouldn’t be surprised if Carr walked.

He doesn’t seem to have any purpose working for Ashley.

We hardly buy and I assume that Carr gives some guidance on bid levels (doubtless having had conversations with his contacts) which Ashley clearly ignores. Given that, he must often wonder what on earth he’s doing, wasting his time and experience working for an arrogant know-all who’s got no interest in Newcastle United as a football club.

Could be of course that Carr’s of an age where he’s happy to take the money and let Ashley get on with making a sow’s ear out of a silk purse!
