One of Newcastle’s supposed summer targets, Marseilles forward Andre Ayew looked very good for Ghana in their tremendous 2-2 draw with Germany tonight at the Estadio Castelao in Fortaleza.
Andre Ayew – celebrates after scoring with great header
The first half of the game was fairly tame with Germany controlling much of the play, but once again the game exploded in the second half with four good goals.
Germany went ahead though a Gotze header after 51 minutes, but just three minutes later the dangerous Andre Ayew equalized with a fine header, and throughout the second half the Ghana number 10 looked dangerous.
Former Sunderland striker Gyan put Ghana ahead on 63 minutes, before Germany manager Joachim Low made a double change and brought on Klose and Schweinsteiger, and within a minute of coming on the field Miroslav Klose equalized, with a good goal at the far post following a corner.
And that was the 36 year-old’s 15th World Cup goal, equaling that of Brazil’s Ronaldo as the top scorer in the World Cup, and the German has also scored in four World Cups.
After the scores were level at 2-2 both sides went for the win and it was really exciting stuff and either country could have won it.
Andre’s brother Jordan came on for Ghana after 52 minutes and he had a few good shots too, and both players would be good signings for Newcastle.
24 year-old Andre is available for transfer from Marseilles, where he has been since 2010, and in four seasons there he’s played 164 times with 49 goals and 16 assists, and he has 51 appearances for Ghana with 6 goals.

His younger brother Jordan is 22, and he has played 165 times for Marseilles over five seasons, and he has scored 22 goals, and while on loan at Sochaux since January he played 18 times and scored 5 goals.
Jordan has played 13 times for Ghana with 5 goals.
Both brothers would be good signings for Newcastle United.
What do you think?

Comment #44Didn’t even know who Enner Valencia was before this WC and at 25 one most be wondering if he will make it outside of South America / Central America.
…he has never left before. At a reported £7M he is quite a gamble – if true lets hope we don’t pen all our hopes on him 😉

Comment #45So does anyone know what’s keeping Remy for signing up for that big team and make his pay day?
…is it money or is Wenger having doubts? I can understand if he has cause Remy comes off rather one side / or focused!

Comment #48A new target is released everyday and they all sound like good signings. But if Mike doesn’t splash the cash, how are we going to sign these “targets”?
