Newcastle Linked With Crystal Palace Winger

There is news today that Newcastle are interested in 25 year-old Crystal Palace winger Yannick Bolasie, who was born in Lyon, France.

Yannick Bolasie

Yannick Bolasie – Newcastle interested?

And there seems to be number of clubs interested in the player who joined Palace in the summer of 2012 and has played 78 times for the London club, but with only three goals.

Yannick has previously played for Plymouth Argyle and Bristol City and has 3 caps for the Democratic Republic of Congo, and is said to be worth around £2M – and that’s the sort of low fee that Newcastle are willing to pay for their players these days.

Newcastle need to recruit some wingers this summer since it‘s likely that Jonas Gutierrez, Sylvain Marveaux, Gabby Obertan and Ben Arfa will all be leaving the club.

However, Bolasie is said to be a crowd favorite at Selhurst Park and new Palace manager Tony Pulis will want to keep his best players at the club this summer.

The reports are that Newcastle are considering a bid in the region of £2 – and yes – you guessed it – that figure will fall short of Palace’s own valuation of their player.

And so it goes on ……

Comments welcome.

Ed…since you are day behind on your recap of who we are linked to, maybe it’s time to do a story on Islam Slimani?

When we played palace we brought hatem on after 60 mins on bolasies side. Every 5 minutes after pulis frantically changed that side to try and deal with hatem.

He can beat the odd man bolasie but thats about it

    Load of Tosh
We have done our business unless we can get a out of contract player or a loan player in.
Got a feeling that the club are feeding the media with stories of who we are after, put in a bid to keep the fans happy/guessing.

I find it funny how in the transfer windows – suppose to be the busy time for some/most members of staff/management that negotiate deals go on holiday/or are sent on holiday.

We mustn’t forget the part Llambias has played in our current misery. He’s the idiot who appointed Pardew, put him on an 8 year deal and brought in Wonga after dumping Virgin. Dispicable creep along with Ash and pardew.

Even if why some miracle we got any of them, look at the way Deschamps has France playing in the WC and the way French players get pardewed as soon as they turn up here.

I don’t believe the French model was wrong to follow at all but we just have the worst possible manager to make it work. Ash can’t see it though.

It’s funny I saw the French doing an amazing open technical warm up session with keepy ups and all sorts.

Hilarious that pardew closed off public NUFC training sessions in case his one tactic would be discovered by opposition managers!!

It’s Pardew that’s responsible for our French lads’ much improved game, not Deschamps – or so Pardew’ll be claiming soon!

    Jesper.

I was merely stating a fact and required discussion on it. Socks was employed as a wide player for his country last night.

Ok lets take it deeper…. if Nuwcastle were to play 433, what would be the opinion on Socks and say Goofy as the wide men?

Did anyone see the programme on China and their new (acadamy, monastery, detention centre ?)
They’ve taken a leaf out of the German training camps of old and defiantly looking for world domination.

At least we’ve got Burton on Trent

And with Wonga .. Things have probably been stale since Christmas on lending front so why not come up with a deal to pay some existing customers a fiver each in compo .. Genius

i agree. Socks was played wide for us most of last season, and despite him “not being a winger” he was one of our most productive players. I think he goes in the category of ‘played out of position through necesity, rather than choice”

sissoko was all over the place looked to have a bit of a roaming role he was on the right centrally and on the left

I would like to see us go back to 4 3 3 and with sissoko tiote colback and give sissoko licence to roam and link between def and attack with the other 2 told to sit
