There is news that Newcastle United are interested in 24 year-old Bosnia and Herzegovina international Anel Hadzic, who plays in defensive midfield for SK Sturm Graz in the Austrian Bundesliga.
Anel Hadži? – Bosnia and Herzegovina midfielder
The 6’1″ midfielder has even been quoted as saying he expects a deal to be completed as early as next week, although of course he doesn’t mention which club.
There media reports in Bosnia are saying that Newcastle are favorites to sign the player, although a number of English clubs are also interested in him.
Hadzic played for the Austria U21 side twice, but then opted to play for Bosnia and Herzegovina, and he was in the 23 man squad at the World Cup and currently has three full caps for his country, which is part of the old Yugoslavia.
Last season he played 36 games for SK Sturm Graz in all competitions and scored 4 goals and had 2 assists and he’s been at the club since last year. and the Chronicle is reporting he would cost only £2M since he has only one year left on his contract.
Previously he was at SV Reid, another Austrian club where he played 190 game with 25 goals and 12 assists, and joined them back in 2007, when he was just 17.
We wonder if this means Cheick Tiote may be on his way out of the club this summer, but it probably is to simply strengthen the Newcastle squad and add some competition, which is good.
Comments welcome.

Ed, by no stretch of the imagination can the sale of one player from the first team be classified as ‘Worrying Exodus Continues’ !
Take a look at Southampton. Now that is a ‘worrying exodus’.
The club’s resale strategy is working. Buy players who have a resale value. It is arguable that Debuchy came to us only because his best mate was here. Once Cabaye left it was almost certain that Debuchy would leave too.

Comment #4These guys we are signing are all quality players the the thing with newcastle is they are doing nothing but showcasing there skills on a much higher level and making a few million quid. But every player we are linked with must be thinking what a stepping stone. Surprised we havn’t sold anyone to the likes of real madrid yet. We sign lacazette and in a season or 2 he will be away to the likes of psg/real madrid/Man city. MA just needs to dig deep.

Comment #5Shaker this deal makes perfect sense.
Tiote is 28. This guy is 24. Tiote will probably be sold next year.
For once we might be getting in a replacement before we sell a player. Makes perfect sense if he is good enough.

Comment #6If the championships our goal then don’t worry but if doing well in the prem is then worry!
We were sh*te almost all of last season with an average squad. We’ve lost five of those players three of who were arguably our best (cabaye, remy, debuchy). Perez is for the future, colback is a decent squad player and de jong who seems good in the erdivisie however, unproven in the prem.
On top of this we seem to be getting snubbed or won’t pay the going rate. I think fans are understandably concerned me included bearing in mind the drivel thats fed from the club about transfer business being sorted before the wc now its after then it will be january!
Its alright selling players for profit but you have to replace them.

Comment #9A Few points to make.
*yohan cabaye is probably 1 of the best midfielders ever to have played for newcaslte I cant blame him in the slightest for leaving when there is no ambition at the club yes he caused abit of a fuss at the start of season but got through it and played on and did very well for us scoring lots of goals
*now this guy debuchy is another thing he might be best friends with cabaye but he is certainly not as nice as him this guy only joined us and fair enough if he wants to move on but if all the rumours are true then we should be happy if he leaving because he has no regards for the fans of Newcastle absoultly digsuting behaviour by mentioning he is joining arsenal removing Newcastle from his twitter without any remarks about missing Newcastle fans and thanks for supporting them etc he seems like a sly pig cant believe the way he just moved on so quickly…..
tim krul or cheick tiote would never do such a thing so lets hope neither of them go
also alan pardew is a liar per usual oh debuchy aint leaving blah blah

Comment #10A defensive midfielder is not a priority,a decent player or not there are other positions to fill first. We are struggling to get strikers in & struggling to get a play maker in so why not get the back shored up & get CB & RB sorted. We cannot afford to start the season with the same defence, minus Debuchy as last season where we leaked goals by the wagon load. Priorities before Profit. All IMHO gents.

Comment #12Rotunda @ 8 – but for P45DUE, it was a cry of relief. If we had qualified for Europa he would have been sacked – FCB would not be at all happy!!! There is little profit in it and it could see us relegated, same as FA & League Cups. The extensive research proved that!!

I have always wondered how much influence Cabaye had over Debuchy and the club.
It’s a pity Debuchy didn’t say ‘ I’m glad to leave as Newcastle is a shit place full of fat drunken shell suited slobs and the men aren’t much better’

Comment #28someone in our midfield is definetely leaving if we are signing this Anel.
It’s overload of DMs now. we even have Bigrimana if he can be a backup and get the occasional game. we have no need of this bosnia guy unless someone is leaving.

and now Sherneidelin has apparently said he will be leaving Southampton after the world cup.
If being a Newcastle fan is worse now, imagine Southampton. We are moaning over Debuchy departure while almost the entire Southampton first 11 are leaving.

verb (used without object), slunk or ( Archaic ) slank; slunk; slink·ing.
1.
to move or go in a furtive, abject manner, as from fear, cowardice, or shame.
Since you have been using the blog, you have described Newcastle as a provincial backwater, you seem to revel in the fact we haven’t won a trophy for so long and seem to love pointing out that we are just a mid table club and don’t deserve any success added to your above comments you seem to show as much contempt to your fellow Geordies as the man whom you love to defend, moving to a place in the sun away from your hometown doesn’t make you better than the people you left behind just further away, you might do well to remember where you came from.

It would be easier to comment on it if we weren’t linked with so many players, I don’t doubt that we will not end the summer with a transfer profit, all good and well if we are covered in all the positions we need, if RTaylor is brought back as our RB then there could be turbulent times ahead.

Comment #34for the information of any dopes or thickos because the French kiss each other on the cheeks -including man to man -does not mean they are “benders” -as has been suggested.
This process of greeting in France is called “faire la bise” and really should not attract any suggestion about a persons sexuality.

Arsenal are in talks to sign Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez and Newcastle right-back Mathieu Debuchy.
Their move for 28-year-old France international Debuchy is at an advanced stage but the clubs are yet to agree a fee, with Newcastle understood to be seeking a figure in the region of £10m.

Comment #39We need to get rid of Ashley and make him sell up, we will know soon how many have renewed and shown there support to Mike Ashley and the way he he running the club, he’s laughing at each and every one of us whilst rubbing his hands together, I can picture him now saying he will sell Cabaye (Our best player), keep the £20m and replace him with Calback on a freebie from our main rivals, then laugh as people still turn up and pay him to watch such sh*t.
