Positive Vibes About Potential Janmaat Deal

Daryl Janmaat is keen on a move to Newcastle United, and that’s according to a report in the Shields Gazette this morning, with the news that Newcastle have either had a €6M bid (£4.8M) turned down by Feyenoord (reports in Holland) or that we are about to make the bid (Journal report this morning).

Take you pick.

Daryl Janmaat

Daryl Janmaat – wants a move to Newcastle

Newcastle have targeted Holland this summer for a number of players, and we have already signed Siem de Jong from Ajax and we now have three Holland Internationals on board – including Tim Krul and Vurnon Anita – so Daryl Janmaat would have some of his countrymen alongside him if he signed on at Newcastle.

The Feyenoord defender is still in Brazil preparing for the game tomorrow for the 3rd place finish in the World Cup – what’s the point of having that game?

Tim Krul will have talked to his compatriot about life at Newcastle United, and we assume that’s a positive message to Daryl, although there were reports that Tim may want to leave the club this summer.

But if we can get Daryl in and maybe even take Luuk de Jong on a season long loan deal, depending how efforts to sign other strikers go before September rolls around, Tim could well want to stay at Newcastle.

But it does seem that push is coming to shove at Newcastle on the transfer front – so to speak – and we are said to be close to deals for both Remy Cabella and Daryl Janmaat.

And just think how the mood on Tyneside would be lifted if we can get both these top players through the door in the next few days.

And then we need to get some strikers through the door – Demba Ba and Loic Remy would be good.

What do you think?

If we sign Cabella I would be absolutely delighted, not because I feel that he is a great player with the truth being that I haven’t seen enough of him to form a judgement, but because we offered so little originally that due to past history I believed that he would never come as Mike Ashley has proven time and time again that he doesn’t do compromise, but to get him we would have compromised and the compromise would also be closer to their valuation of the lad than Ashley’s valuation of the lad, so as crazy as it sounds forgetting the player as he is immaterial in this post, it would at least get me thinking that perhaps Ashley is now starting to realise that he has got to give a little bit more than what he would like from time to time which has never happened before and is rather refreshing. Spoof being a little bit upbeat, now who would ever have believed that ?

If it’s true that the Debuchy deal won’t be announced before we have a replacement, then it seems Newcastle has finally learned an important lesson 😉

Ah but if i do it now, my head is clear for the rest of the day

And your comment about cabella at RWB…… good, work 😀
As you know by now, even i am fed up with negative tactics. Pardew is probably thinking “finally i can play 343? but will use cabella and sissoko as wing backs, and Tiote as a number 10.

If Ash has finally loosened the purse strings somewhat who knows where it could end!!

He could re – look at the wisdom of being in tow with the criminally prosecuted Wonga, not to mention a headbutting and foul mouthed, I hesitate to use the word, manager.

Mind you I don’t think even pardew could cock this potential up

    Janmatt New CB? MYM Haidara

    Sissoko Tiote

Ben Arfa Siem De Jong Cabella

    New striker?

L’Equipe seems to believe Emmanuel Riviere is our main target!

    Is he any good?

Riviere is ok, nothing special but I can see him doing a decent job at NUFC . Still need a lead striker though , someone in the Remy/Lacazette mold.

Call me crazy (please don’t, I am very sensitive!), but if we could get Janmaat through the door, with Cabella looking done, things are looking exciting. I think we could use one established striker and one more striker that has potential (looks like Reviere may be the answer here) then we could be done. I know some think we need CBs, but I would like to see Yanga get a legit chance in that role this year and the only way that will happen is if we don’t bring any in. Looking at what our starting 11 could be is starting to make me smile a bit!!!
