Newcastle Striker Signing Reported As Imminent

As Newcastle complete the signing of Remy Cabella over the weekend or on Monday, AS Monaco striker Emmanuel Riviere is said to be close to also signing for the Tyneside club – at least according to the French daily L’Equipe.

Emmanuel Riviere – while at Toulouse

We reported yesterday that Newcastle were making good progress in their talks with Monaco – and the report in France today is that both clubs are getting close to agreeing a deal for the 24 year-old striker.

And Emmanuel is said to be keen on a move to Newcastle – which can only help us in securing the French U21 striker.

The player was offered to Newcastle earlier this summer for around £4.5M, and the current fee is said to be close to that – around €6M – which is £4.8M, but reports that we will have to pay €10M for him seem to be way off the mark.

Newcastle are currently in talks with Monaco about the player and the news in L’Equipe is that a deal is very close – said to be imminent.

If we sign Cabella and then Riviere shortly after that – I’ll have to remember to take my blood pressure pills – just in case – it may be  just too much to take – all at once. 😀

But there is every indication that Newcastle now mean business in the transfer market, and want new players in over this coming week, so they can make the trip to New Zealand.

Sounds good to us.

Not the proven quality striker that we have been looking for…let’s see if we still go after others striker targets. He may be great…but a risk. Will be a bit disappointed if we don’t

From what I have see (on YouTube) Cabella tends to play on the right although he often finds himself in the middle. Sissoko tends to play on the right too and also finds himself in the middle.

I would say that neither of them are natural for the left wing.

    Isn’t it weird.

Looks like a tea cosy boiled, put in curlers and then split down the middle. Maybe it’s the latest fashion. Better see my milliner immediately.

Very good point , we can say that they used the money so perfectly , and they didn’t even spend from the TVs money from this and last season yet 🙂

OMG! this is typical cashley thru and thru.
Take a punt on a cheap pile of shite, with the off chance that he has a good season and we can sell at a profit in a couple of years time.
All I see is another shola. No more no less

He may have enough goals in him to keep us bobbing along mid table at best, which is after all the master plan.

    Janmaat Coloccini M’Biwa Haidara
    Tiote Anita
    Sissoko De Jong Cabella

Looking like the team so far. Riviere is good yes, he’s a 7/10 but better than what we have. Still hoping for a Lacazette or an Aubameyang, then we’ll really be talking! When he comes back from injury, this is a make or break season for Cisse as well, take the pressure off him and you really do never know. Get Ben Arfa fit and firing, him and Cabella playing either side of a proper creator in De Jong is just sexy stuff. Sissoko, Anita, M’Biwa and Colback all important players as well! We all know Anita has ability, Sissoko looked bloody unstoppable when we had Cabaye last season, so should be somewhere close to that again with this new creativity in our side. M’Biwa, he’s dodgy, either going to have a blinder or a nightmare but there’s no way that the M’Biwa of Montpellier is gone, give him a chance! Haidara, looks very much quick with a natural left foot, streets ahead of Dummett, this is his chance with Santon injured. Colback needs to be sure to do what he does best and grind out results for us. Cabella, what a signing! This fella is some player, watched all but one of his games last season and he looked incredible in a very poor team. He’s not necessarily a flyer but he has that burst of acceleration and he will make a complete tw*t out of many a full back, trust me. If he was Brazilian people would be ranting and raving about him like Neymar. Janmaat I haven’t seen much of but to he selected in that Dutch team says he’s a level above Van Der Wiel, Van Rhijn who are good players. Our key players nrxtbye
