Reports That Janmaat Deal Has Been Completed

The Northern Echo is reporting this morning that the deal to bring Daryl Janmaat to the Tyneside club has been completed and it will be announced this morning by Newcastle United.

daryl janmaat

Daryl Janmaat – deal done!

Newcastle seem to be making some excellent progress this week on some of our transfer targets, and Emmanuel Riviere will be next through the door, with the Monaco striker already on Tyneside ready to complete his move.

Janmaat is no longer in Newcastle and according to the Echo flew back to Holland last night after completing the deal, and we assume that nothing was announced last night because of the pre-season friendly with Oldham – we lost that game 2-1.

And Janmaat’s signing will now mean that Mathieu Debuchy’s deal with Arsenal will also be completed.

And with the deal for Debuchy being close to the £12M Mike Ashley wanted, we get a like for like replacement for Debuchy and are also left with £7M – not a bad deal by Newcastle’s Lee Charnley.

Neither Janmaat nor Riviere will be on the plane to New Zealand for our two pre-season games that will be played next Tuesday and the following Saturday.

And assuming we can get Janmaat and Riviere through the door that will be six signings already this summer – Ayoze Perez, Jack Colback, Siem de Jong, Remy Cabella, Daryl Janmaat and Emmanuel Riviere.

So far so good for this transfer window. 😀

I read it was only a couple of minor details holding up the Janmaat deal, hopefully there sorted out now, because this is a top class player.

Does anybody have any idea who the other striker is that Newcastle are in for?

Riviers previous team colour were red and white.
    So were colbacks.
    ditto janmaat
    ditto sdj.
can someone tell me what colour perezs last team played in?
Whats going on? Are we heading for the worst possible strip change? 😀

Why wouldn’t Riviere be on the plane? He hasn’t been away with internationals so he should be straight into training and on the tour to integrate and get to know his team mates.

    Markaccus,
Perez played in white with bits of blue mainly.

Still, NUFC’s first ever strip was red with white shorts, maybe Ashley is planning on taking Newcastle back to its roots. In fact, the red and blue of SD would be a wonderful homage to West End FC and East End FC who merged to become NUFC. The predominant colours in their strips were red and blue…. Good old Mike Ashley, alway showing us our own history… 😉

There is no reason at all why Riviere should not be on the plane. All the clubs are returning to pre – season training now and as he was not involved in the world cup he would be reporting back to training with Monaco therefore he should be training with us and on the plain to New Zealand, I would think he will be.

    Firebug,
Yeah, I’d agree. Obviously provided he signs before we leave. I reckon Ed is just making a slight error and putting him in down as the same as Cabella and Janmaat. As you say, absolutely zero reason why he shouldn’t be.

I do think he will sign today, seems nailed on in the local rags. He says people liken him to Thierry Henry, I only hope he can emulate him.

Anyone hear anything about possible selling Marv, Ober, etc.?

Or are we focusing on buying first and selling after all buying completed?

My gf works at a hotel in town and came home last night saying 3 chaps had checked into the hotel under the name of Rudy Raba with it bring billed to NUFC. Googled Rudy Raba and hes a french guy and agent for Younes Kaboul and has been for Adel Taarabt in the past. I showed her pics of Rivierre, Cabella and janmaat because she said there were two guys with him but said the other 2 werent either of those. Wonder whats going on there? I found a link whike searching for this guy that he mentioned Moussa Sissoko and interest from Napoli so im wondering if hes off maybe? Good bit of info though be interesting to see what that pans out to be.

All of these signings are great, I’m looking forward to see how we go next season. For the first time in ages it feels good to be supporting the Toon.

All that said can we please sign a new manager soon, all the talent in the world won’t make a difference if we don’t have some half decent tactics and training.

The only person I can find comparing this Riviere kid to Henry is himself. Im not too sure about this kid. Julien Laurens the french journalist reckon were overpaying for an average striker. I will of course hold judgement until ive seen him play. But personally if hes not thag great I wud rather save the fee and wages and put it towards atop quality forward.

    Santon,
They are all available, but no one wants any of them. Ferg was wanted by Ipswich, but that seems the only bite on Ferg, Marv, Ober, HBA. They are all overpaid, we want too high a fee in Marv’s case, and if those issues weren’t sufficient, they aren’t very good either.

I saw something on hear and on Tw@tter that Guti was buying out his contract and leaving. Respect to him if he does that.

I really want to see how we do with corners and set pieces this season.
Our set pieces has been cr@p for the last 2 seasons.
The team really need to take advantages of these free kicks.

    Jesper,
I know, hahahaha! That and Luiz £40million always brightens my day.

    Hoodrat,
Do the club not still exclusively use Jesmond Dene when conducting business? If we did lose Sissoko I reckon we can assume that Riviere is coming to play out wide with a striker coming in. Leaving us with nowt in squad depth.

Yeah i seen that but doubt wed be after him. I thought he might be acting for rivierre hence arriving last night but she said the other two men werent any of the three 3 we are signing / close to signing going off the pics i showed her. Saying that she hasnt got a clue about football so could be for Rivierre..thats all i can think of.

I really like Jonas to stay tbh. He gave everything for the team every game. His form declining could be pardew’s fault, even when he was with Norwich we still look like sh!t.

At first she says ruddy rabe…i started googling rudy rabe but it was pre entering ruby raba i saod do u mean rudy raba and she was like ah yeah thats it haha more than likely for rivierre i think but you never know with that babby seal running the club. Tbh im npt sure id be too bothered if Sissoko left. If we made a nice profit on him and replaced him like we have been so far i dont think id be arsed.

Following a period of no action in the market, NUFC has gone a buying spree, with a number of signings, while promising more to come.
However on close examination, we find for the most part we are looking at no names, or apart from Cabella, basically squad players.
Comparing our signings with the more ambitious sides (basically the top six) it reflects a club lacking ambition, with second rate management, buying second rate players.
The side will struggle to maintain a top ten spot, which appears to be the limit of their ambition for the approaching season and despite the clubs propaganda about how entertaining Cabella is, with Pardew at the helm, we should expect him to be reined in
and his talents wasted like HBA & Marveaux, or played out of position like Sissoko.
Look for more of the same results we suffered during the final games of last season.
You get what you pay for and comparing us with other PL sides, that means a season of mediocrity, ah well!

Here we go again, the club make some good purchases and the knockers are not satisfied, for god sake give the team a chance and get behind them rather than trying to ruin everybody’s confidence before we even start. This blog was enjoyable until the last 18 months then the regulars have done nothing but complained about the players, manager and owner, well the owner seems to me to have our club on a very firm footing, first time in many years, we have now signed six good players, our much maligned manager has won manager of the year and at least one manager of the month in the past 30 months, so get behind the club and stop moaning

Riviere passed medical on sky sports. Im pleased we’re signing players but when you take in how many we’ve lost from last season cabaye, remy, de jong, ameobi, debuchy we’re no better off numbers wise which most fans said was a small, quality lacking squad last season. I still think we need at least another 2-3 players a proven striker, centre half and another decent squad player. I would seriously take loic remy over all other potential targets as hes proven and scored the majority of our goals last season as I think lakaku is too good for us.
