I Grew Up Dreaming Of Scoring For Newcastle – Video

17 year-old local striker Adam Armstrong is one of the Newcastle youngsters who Alan Pardew has big hopes for in the coming season, and the lad has already played four competitive games for Newcastle United last season, and on Tuesday night he scored his first ever goal for his home town club.

Adam Armstrong – after scoring against Sydney FC

And it was an excellent goal after being set up quite brilliantly by another local lad – Adam Campbell – but Armstrong still had two defenders to beat, which he did in great style.

This is what Adam has said in the Shields Gazette about his first goal for his home town club:

“It was unbelievable to score my first goal for the first team.” “I grew up dreaming of scoring for Newcastle – like every boy in the city – and to get it in Tuesday’s match was amazing.”

“It was such a buzz when the ball hit the back of the net, and hopefully there will be more to come.”

Armstrong certainly has the creativity, talent and goal scoring ability to become a big hit on Tyneside, and we just have to hope he can fulfill his promise.

In case you haven’t seen the goal here it is:

I used to dream about scoring for Newcastle too, however, I also used to dream that I was being eaten by a giant Mars Bar, so frankly I’m quite pleased my dreams never came true!

I have really high hopes for Arma.
I can’t remember our last youth team player to be this heavily praised and to have a lot of optimism about.

Who would that’ve been? We didn’t get this into Campbell did we?

It might have been Carroll. Everyone wanted him to become the no.9. To be fair he was excellent until we sold him 😀 ……. cha-chingggg

    T.T.V.V.T…this one’s for you:

Now the world has gone to bed.
    Datkness won’t engulf my head
    I can see by infra-red
    How I hate the night
Now I lay me down to sleep
    Try to count electric sheep
Sweet dream wishes you can keep
    Hoe I hate the night

    re: Christmas Tree

I really doubt we’d ever play it as it is rarely seen these days but you seem to have a good grasp as to how it would work.

In Colback and Sissoko we have players perfectly suited to a broad 3 sitting in front of the defence.

dktoon -have no fears -expat and myself are just having a bit of banter – I’ve known him for many a year and his parents knew my parents.
He mentioned the other day about the area of Gateshead -Low Fell -where he lived and that it was a conservative (higher class) area. Well it was not really -I would describe it like “Benefits Street” (a UK fly on the wall documentary) -you may regard it as “the projects where most are in receipt of welfare”. However it got better when he moved to Oz.
Expat’s mam used to work in an office at Washington (Washington as in the ancestral home of George Washingtons family) which is very near to Sunderland. It was from this connection (Washington is only 7 miles from Sunderland -as the crow flies) that expat became a Sunderland supporter and was for many a year. However, he learned the errors of his ways and became a Toon supporter.

Yeh. I think it was Carroll. I sometimes wonder if it’s actually our fault he’s crocked. We do have a shocking injury record, with past and present players on the list.

Aye. De Jong said as much when he signed. That seems to be the dream.

Nothing wrong with that, only Pards should also know that it’s not realistic with the current squad.

15 goal striker minimum requirment, as well as a very competent centre half and even then i would say we would still be in and around the likes of Spurs and Everton rather than Man City and Chelsea.

Of course things like this do take time..

But if they were to go out and sign someone like Benteke, Lukaku, PEA, Hernandez, I would think they;re seriosu.

Without that big name striker (at least) then we can assume its yet more hot air.

    Q) Who will take the ‘penogs’ this season?

With no Sholsey, Remsters or Kebabers this season, who do you think will be designated?

I know Cabella took pens for Montpellier, almost certain De Jong will have had pen taking experience, same as Riviére. And we also have Janmaat who is bound to be able to take one.

    What do you fellas think?

Personally i think it’ll be Cabella. He’ll be sure to start when fit and he looks like he’s one of those fearless young players who will take on the responsibility.

No its not 11:30 tonight, look on a tv guide online and BT Sport 1 in the uk is saying 5:30 am.

I could be wrong but i’m guessing a UK tv guide wouldn’t have it on at 5:30am unless that was the time.

Magpie Myles, from what they are saying, I am guessing they do not exactly living in the UK, hence the timings maths going on. I’m guessing the States somewhere.
