Newcastle still have to bring in at least one striker this summer and Arsenal’s Joel Campbell, Borussia Dortmund’s Patrick Aubameyang and Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku are three of our current targets if the news is to be believed, but it seems like AC Milan have become interested in Joel Campbell, the striker who played very well for Costa Rica in the World Cup in Brazil.
Joel Campbell – Arsenal’s Costa Rica striker
Arsenal are trying to negotiate a deal to get AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli to the Emirates and the news this morning is that the Italian powerhouse want to take Joel in part exchange, which will not be good news for Newcastle.
Arsenal have consistently denied they are interested in the former Manchester City and Italian International striker, but there is news in several Italian papers today that negotiations are ongoing, and that Milan want to take Joel Campbell the other way.
Campbell joined Arsenal three years ago this summer, and has been loaned out in every season to get playing time and he has played 111 times for various clubs ( Lorient, Real Betis and Olympiacos) with 17 goals, and there’s a possibility Arsenal may want to send him out on loan this season – that’s if he doesn’t end up permanently at AC Milan…
But it seems that nothing is imminent on the transfer front for Newcastle right now, with 23 year-old Alexandre Lacazette of Lyon being another striker target, but the lad has just signed a new three-year deal to stay at the French club.
